Robin and Marian are working in their office. Robin's headphones are on, and he is staring at something on the screen. Marian looks over at him. It has been a while since the two of them went out. For a while he and Graham had been a regular in her weekends. It's strange how quickly that changed after he got together with Aurora. It also doesn't help that she has been splitting her free time between Theo and Liam.  With his new promotion, Liam has been able to delegate more at work and has been consistently home every Friday night at a reasonable time for dinner. Marian checks her phone and notices that neither of them has sent a message today. She wonders who she should text first.

Just at this moment, Jace walks into Robin and Marian's office. He signals to Robin to take off his headphones. Robin puts his headphones on his desk and says, "Hello Jace, do you need something?" Jace looks at both of them, making eye contact, "I am here for both of you. I want you two to work together on this next assignment. You two should write a formula for our new client, run simulations to decide on operating parameters, and then write a conclusion for the client." Robin nods his head in agreement. Then he asks, "What priority is this?" Jace signals with his hands, "I want you to get this done first. Put your other projects on hold."

Marian asks, "Does it really need both of us? It sounds like work we normally do."  Jace looks at them both again, "Yes. Robin is gifted with writing formulas, but this is specifically for a client request, and I need Marian to put the conclusion into understandable terms." Robin and Marian both look offended at this. Robin speaks first, "Are you saying that my conclusions aren't understandable?" Jace gives him a stern look, "Not to everyone. Marian does better write-ups when it comes to making sense to a client. They respond best to her work. They understand things." Marian's turn to be offended, "Are you saying that I am just a translator?"

Jace rolls his eyes at them. They are both being so sensitive about this. This is why engineers don't do teamwork. If it weren't for such a tight deadline, he wouldn't have paired them up. But he needs it done in one night, and they both have strengths that will help this go quickly. He finally answers them, "Seriously, Robin and Marian, stop questioning my decisions and focus on getting it done." Robin nods in defeat. He is not one to question an authority figure. He says, "We can get started on it tomorrow." Jace shakes his head no, "No, it needs to be ready for tomorrow. You are both going to have to stay late to do it tonight. I did warn you all that this was when we would be needing you to work some overtime." Marian says, "So, overtime tonight?" Jace replies with a  "Yes."

Robin sucks in a deep breath. Tonight. He made plans for tonight with Aurora. He goes to tell Jace, "I already made plans for tonight." Jace looks at Robin sternly, "Well, time to cancel them." With that, Jace walks out of the room without a goodbye. Robin looks uncomfortable. Marian tries to figure out what is bothering him. "Sorry, Robin. I hope it wasn't anything too serious." Robin looks at Marian, and he gives her a look that says he is still upset about this drop in overtime assignment. Normally, this is something Robin wouldn't mind, and Marian would be upset over. Things are constantly changing. Robin goes to text someone on his phone. Marian assumes it is Aurora. The only other option would be that Graham and Robin wouldn't be bummed about canceling on Graham. He would probably like that. Robin looks up at Marian and says, "It was actually something important that I had planned tonight." Marian smiles and says jokingly, "What was it? You have one month anniversary with Aurora?"

Marian and Robin are interrupted by the arrival of Aurora. She has more casual clothes than normal, so their plans weren't for a fancy dinner. Aurora has her blonde hair in a ponytail tonight. She walks up to Robin all excitedly and asks, "Are you ready to go?" She grabs Robin's arm after asking this and has the sweetest smile on her face. Robin faces Aurora and rubs her shoulders. He is prepping for dropping the bomb about their plans, "I am sorry, Aurora. Jace just walked in and asked me to stay overtime tonight to run some simulations for a client." Aurora looks crestfallen. Her mood immediately changes, "For tonight? Seriously?" Robin consoles her, "Yeah, tonight." Aurora gets slightly annoyed, "But I had everything ready." Robin fishes something out of his pocket. He tells Auora, "You can get started without me." With this, he hands Aurora a key.

Marian has been watching the two of them without trying to seem like she is eavesdropping, but when Robin pulls out a key to hand Aurora, she audibly gasps. She cannot believe what she is hearing. She starts to think to herself that the key had better be for Robin's car. Robin says to Aurora, "I already had a spare made." At this, Marian takes a good look at the key. It isn't a car key, it's a house key. Her mouth drops slightly. What in the world has happened? When did this happen? Robin did not tell her anything about this. Robin hands the key to Aurora, who takes it carefully and puts it on a lanyard around her neck. Aurora is very sad, but she tries to rally and says, "I will try and get stuff ready for our first night." Robin pats her on the shoulder and says, "Yes. And leave the big stuff for me. I can carry that later." Marian's mind is completely blank. She just keeps going back to "WHATTHEFUCK" flashing constantly on replay.

Robin says to Aurora, "I will see you later tonight, at our place." He slows down and emphasizes our place. Aurora looks at Marian, who has just been standing there like an idiot, and asks her, "How about you, Marian? Do you feel like helping me move in?" Marian takes a second to say anything. She looks at Robin and back to Aurora. This could not be Robin's doing. This had to be Aurora. But Marian finally says, "Jeez, sorry, Aurora. I am working overtime too. I wish I could." But it's very clear from her tone that she doesn't mean a word of that. Aurora asks, "Oh, Jace gave you both overtime tonight?" Marian says, "Seems like it." Aurora turns away for a minute. That is the last thing she wanted. She was supposed to be having this very special night with Robin, but instead, he will be spending it alone at the office with Marian. Aurora shudders for a minute. She kisses Robin and then starts to leave the office, "I will see you two later. Actually, Robin, I will see you sooner rather than later." She smiles at him as she walks out. Robin says after her, "Bye, Beautiful."

Marian takes a long look at Robin. He starts to feel a Marian lecture coming. He takes a seat in his chair and then turns to Marian and says, "Go ahead and say whatever it is on your mind." Marian shakes her head in amazement, "Beautiful? Our Place? What the HECK is happening?!" She folds his arms and leans against his desk. She is waiting for an explanation that will hopefully make sense from this senseless situation. Robin says, "It just happened." Marian folds her arms and says, "Robin, when I am saying that this is moving too fast, really think about how ironic that is." Robin leans to Marian, "I know it's fast, but people move in together all the time." Marian clarifies, "People, yes. But couples, no way." Robin leans back again and defends himself, "This isn't the first time I have lived with someone. It's not like this is my first time." The two sit in silence, staring at each other. There is tension in the office air between them. Finally, Robin pulls up their assignment and says, "Let's just focus on getting this job done."

The two work together on the computer formula. After that is done, they launch their first simulation. While normally a simulation would mean that they had time to work on other projects, they were supposed to be focused on just this one. While the simulation is running, there is time to talk about things again. Marian tries to take all the bias that she has about her own beliefs and wants to try to talk to Robin without any judgment. "Waiting for simulation runs is the most boring part of our jobs." She smiles at Robin as she says this. Robin nods in agreement. Marian continues, "I normally would go talk to Kris while this ran, but she isn't around." Robin looks over at the clock, "I wish I could go home. I am normally asleep by now." Marian is happy; Robin set himself up for this. "Not anymore. I bet your sleep schedule is about to get overthrown." Robin is puzzled, "Why?" Marian smiles, "Because of your new roommate."

Robin start to think about it. Marian is right, when he lived by himself, he could choose everything himself. But with Aurora there, he would have to ask her opinion now. And he has no idea if Aurora is a night person or a morning person. What if she was into watching TV super late at night and making a lot of noise so he couldn't sleep? Robin starts to feel more nervous. He looks at Marian and says, "I forgot that she would be there on work nights too." Marian continues, "I can't believe you asked her to move in with you already. How do you know you won't drive each other crazy?" Robin explains, "She was ready to get out of her parents' place." Marian nods. She suddenly understands more. "Oh, so this was Aurora's idea?" Things start clicking into place for Marian. There is no way her office mate would take such a huge step with Aurora so quickly. She smiles, hoping to give him some advice.

Robin, on the other hand, is feeling like he has the upper hand here. Marian may have advice for dating, but she has never lived with a significant other. Robin feels like he has to defend himself, "No, she thought I was going to ask her to move in. Then I thought about it and decided to ask her to live with me. I will save lots of money on rent, and I won't have to drive to her place a bunch, so that will save me money on gas." Marian listens to the reasons that Robin has for moving in with Aurora. None of them has to do with the fact that they love each other and can't imagine spending time apart. She thinks Robin is justifying why Aurora moved in and not giving reasons why he wanted her there. Marian tries to decide how to point this out nicely.

She finally says, "You do realize that those aren't reasons to move in with your girlfriend. You should move in because you are ready for that step in your relationship. Not because it will save you money." Robin looks slightly offended. He feels like Marian is taking all this the wrong way. He then goes on the defensive and tells Marian, "Really, Marian? If you are such an expert, when is the appropriate time to move in with someone? Have you ever lived with a significant other?" Marian looks down and says, "No." Robin folds his arms and continues, "Then I am the one with more experience here. I lived with Olivia before. I think I have a good idea about what I am doing." Marian decides that tonight is not the night to try to convince Robin that he is moving too fast. He already gave Aurora a key. There is no turning back for him. She decides to ask him instead, "What was your reason for moving in with Olivia?"

Robin is narrating this flashback:

Olivia and I had dated for over a year without much drama with her family. Besides, when Luke first found out that I was dating his sister, he punched me. And never spoke to me again. But with her parents, they didn't seem to care too much about what Olivia did. Since she was a daughter and the second child. But when it came time for her to apply to colleges, she decided to apply to the one that I was attending. I didn't tell her to do that; she just wanted to go to a school with a good engineering program, and mine did. That was when all hell broke loose. Her parents demanded that she go Ivy League like they had. But those schools were all very far away from my school. They fought about it even after she accepted her spot at my college. Her parents were angry with her. They said that if Olivia went to that school, they wouldn't support her financially anymore. It was their last attempt to control her.

She packed up her stuff and called me, crying. She asked if she could move in with me for the summer before classes started. I helped her find a job. We both took out student loans. She didn't speak with her parents for over a year.
