The two had recently escaped from being tied earlier, at least an hour after the strange man’s help, he continued further through the forest, where a red-eyed ogre was currently occupying the inner most part of the cave.

The Princess had light pink hair that extended to her back, she wore a bright colored yellow dress that was dirtied with dirt, her eyes had the color of the ocean, light blue.

Her Butler, was an old man currently in his 50’s, wearing a dirtied tailcoat because of their recent attack, he was certainly weak but still remained strong to support his lady.

“Princess Elena, we need to help our knights outside, thanks to the man clearing not only the outside, but also the inside of the cave we can now escape.”

Elena Looked back at her butler.

“Jaime, we can’t leave a man that rescued us.”

“But- “

The Butler, Jaime, was seriously worried about the young princess’s decision.

“No buts, go and release the knight’s I’ll try and scout to see if he is still alive.”

He stayed silent but still looked at his lady with a look saying ‘don’t continue’, but he then submitted and followed her order.

 “…Yes, your majesty.”

He didn’t reply any further.

Elena slowly started sneaking and silently scouting the dark cave, with barely enough light to see, she still continued.

“Ugh, I can’t see anything.”

She raised her hand, immediately at her palm a small fire that was equivalent to the size of the normal torch was lighted.

That man can’t possible kill a red-eyed ogre, even a high-ranking adventurers with amazing skills takes a hard time just to kill one of them.

She walked deeper to the dark cave where she saw light, light was shining from inside the cave. Thinking that the man had killed the red-eyed ogre, she continued.

The closer she went, she heard groans getting louder and louder as she went close.

“Hello?”

She tried asking, and when she peeked her head at the corner of the cave, she was so shocked with fear, that the flame on her palm dispersed and disappeared.

What she saw was the strange man lying down on the ground, face and body on straight on the ground. And behind his body, was the red-eyed ogre, screaming and groaning in agony.

The red-eyed ogre neck was slit open and fire, blood and magma was flowing down it’s body. It was currently laying its back on the cave’s walls, slowly losing its energy.

“How could such a man do this? Don’t tell me he is a diamond rank-adventurer or higher?!”

She murmured, not drawing the attention of the dying ogre. She immediately decided to check if the man was still alive, and tried turning the man.

She was horrified at the man’s face, dropping him to the ground immediately. She held her scream and slid herself to the cave’s wall.

Don’t tell me that man’s dead?!

But regaining her calmness, she tried observing the man if he was truly dead or still alive. She looked closer at each part of the unconscious man’s body.

She had seemed to lost hope of the man’s survival, but looking closer at his chest, it was rising up and down, meaning that he was breathing.

She sighed with relief, she felt assurance, she needed to thank the man that saved her, he would’ve known that she was royalty just by the engraved symbol on her carriage.

“Sir, don’t worry I will get you out of here alive, since you saved me.”

She took his body, and barely even holding up when she carried him. She walked slowly to the outside of the cave.

As she left the dark cave, she was greeted by her butler and 2 remaining knights, the rest were all killed, and all of them had an injury of the sorts.

“Princess, you still safe, we wouldn’t know what we’d do, if you died.”

One of her knight’s said worrying about her.

“Sheesh, Baron Wallos, don’t think so little of me.”

The Princess replied, whilst holding the body of the strange man. They could all see his burnt and almost disfigured face.

“Who here knows any holy magic?”

Elena asked her remaining escorts, to which, none replied.

“I’m sorry, Princess, it seems our healer died in the process, we don’t know any Holy magic.”

 One of the Knights replied.

“We know the man had saved us, but we can’t save him, just look at him, he is even barely standing.”

One knight was hiding an intent of just leaving him die.

The remainder of the knight’s didn’t know what to do, the man that had saved them was almost at the brink of death.

“Princess let’s leave him be, he is still young, so maybe our Goddess Prisia, will guide him to a good life in the afterlife.”

The princess that was carrying his savior, started pitying the strange man. She slowly supported his paralyzed body, whilst slowly laying him down on the ground.

Outside of the cave, the remaining knights stood along with the Butler and Princess, all mourning at the dead man.

As the Butler, Jaime, was about to start a prayer to the goddess, a terrifying howl was heard from the woods.

“What the!”

A knight was shocked with fear.

“It’s still here, I thought it already left.”

The other knight added.

Though, they were knights, a howl from a monster had almost made them cower in fear. Normal Knight’s were not as powerful as High-ranking Adventurers, they only knew swordsmanship, no magic. and not to mention there were only two left.

“Jaime, what do you think is it.”

Elena Questioned her butler, guessing the monster from just it’s howl.

“If were unlucky it can be the Darkness wolf, they have a fast-regenerative ability, their teeth and claws are strong as mithril or even adamantine, they are also very large and fast. It’s every summoners and adventurers worst nightmare.”

In the forest they heard the sounds of the bushed rattling, it was getting closer. And in the tree line just at the left of the cave entrance, they saw a shadow.

“J-Jaime! What do you think it is!”

A knight was yelling, he was shaking in fear.

He raised his glasses with his index finger, and said.

“Princess, it seems we’re unlucky, that right there is maybe an almost grown Darkness wolf, and it seemed it has controlled his bloodlust only seeing us as its target.”

 Hearing the news, the knights and Elena, lost hope, death was around the corner for them. Elena’s body was shaking in dismay, she didn’t expect that a Wolf of that class was just near.

They slowly walked backwards whilst shaking, trying not to provoke the Darkness Wolf that was currently walking towards them.

Fighting was futile against monsters of that caliber, it had the intelligence of that as a human, and can assess and analyze its opponent’s movement.

It slowly creeped out of the trees and it was larger than usual ones, but Elena noticed something peculiar at its back and sides there laid a large dark green object, but it was none of her business, the wolf was coming closer and with bloodlust, their deaths were inevitable.

They left the body of the man on the ground, not even dare lifting or carrying him up to safety.

“Princess, we should run, the wolf might eat the man, while it is eating, we can run away undetected.”

They were prepared to run away, until they heard a small groan coming from the body of the strange man.

Elena tried running toward the man to try and save him from the Darkness Wolf, but her knight’s and even her butler stopped her.

“No, we need to save him!”

“But- “

A knight was cut off as an arrow shot his head, it came from the forest.

1 knight remained, the remaining escorts were shocked. They had an enemy at the front and another at the rear. They were unarmed they hadn’t had any weapon’s, they’re swords were at the entrance of the cave but it was currently blocked by the approaching Darkness Wolf.

“Princess! We can’t do anything!”

Baron Wallos, her last remaining knight, was in screaming in concern, he had to protect the princess’s life while protecting his.

“I-I can’t use any fire magic, I don’t know where he is!”

Elena was also confused, she could use magic but doesn’t know where her enemy is.

“Princess, it seems my contract ends here, it was a great journey, may you pay my respects to his highness.”

The butler said before being shot at the chest, instantly killing him. What remained was Baron Wallos and the Princess.

“Princess Get behind me!”

He Placed her behind him, using himself as a meat shield before getting shot and dying like the rest.

Elena sat on the ground seeing her comrades falling one by one, she tried avoiding the arrow fire that was coming inside the forest, well-hidden.

She was unable to do anything except use her comrade’s body as a meat shield to take the arrow fire.
