I wake up in an unfamiliar bed, naked, handcuffed to the bedframe, with a large figure curled up against my side, and, well not sore, even my minor regeneration is enough to ensure that isn't the case, but damn if I don't feel like I should be. Aaand still wearing the blindfold too. "Nmmm. Least she took the gag off. Out? Both?"

A large, plush hand whaps down onto my face. Ahnya grumbles something unintelligible, stretches a bit, then lies halfway on top of me. With her left arm over my waist and her head on my chest.

I mutter a half finished thought at her. "Too small to, pillows." My face heats up from that, joke? Flirtation? Whatever it was. Then I bite my lip and turn my head to the side, as if looking away. Not that I can actually see anything.

A huff of air from a half suppressed laugh tickles across a sensitive area. "Perhaps, but they're certainly cute~" Ahnya plants a kiss just at the edge of- Ehem I mean, just over my heart. Then she crawls slightly further up and nuzzles my neck. "Hmm. So, were you satisfied by my attempt to make you forget your name? I can try again if it didn't work~"

"It was uh, a lot. Certainly very fun, but I could use a break before a repeat."

"Ahhh, that uncertain smile below the blindfold is so precious~" She plants her lips on the side of my neck, then sucks on the skin there a moment. "Any notes on my performance, then?"

"I will never underestimate vibrators again. But did you have to pull them away every time I was about- Eeep!" Ahnya bit my neck mid sentence.

"Oh yes. That was half the fun~ Or at least, it was until I found a better use for em~" She sighs huskily into my neck. "But enough of that for now. I do have other plans for today, and if I get too into remembering last night, I'll need that repeat."

A claw taps my chin, then trails up my face until it slides under the band of the blindfold. Ahnya smirks at me from just a few centimeters away as she raises the blindfold, then leans in to give me a brief, surprisingly chaste kiss, all things considered. "Morning beautiful." She lifts herself up, then trails her left hand down, down, all the way to the little band of black fabric she put on my left thigh last night. With a careful movement of a claw, a tiny key slides out. "I thought it most fitting for you to hold it~" She giggles, then lifts the key up to the handcuffs. A moment later, my hands are free.

I reflexively rub my wrists, but don't quite know why. They're not the least bit uncomfortable. "Cause of that, cuffs I make can't hold me unless I want them to, thing?"

Ahnya rolls her eyes, then pokes my nose. "Yes, obviously. Suppose I'm glad you could figure out that much. Now, get up and get dressed, we've got to meet up with Mera and go to the townhall."

"What?" With no explanation forthcoming, and Ahnya already starting to put on a red and gold dress that covers more than her usual witchy robes, I shrug and grab the clothes I packed in my bag last night. White pants that stop about mid shin, and a long shirt in a color Mera called coral pink. A glance in the mirror shows that the dark leather of my collar stands out against the light tone of the shirt. "Hmm? Ah." I unfasten my collar, and clean it, then wipe my neck before donning the collar again. I did sweat quite a bit last night, after all.

After I'm dressed and ready, it takes another few minutes to hunt down the clothes I was wearing yesterday. Though the shirt is a little ruined by the claw holes on the left side. I couldn't even get the blood stains off of it with my ennui, because apparently, my blood can't be purified into water. I sigh and shove it in my bag with the rest.

From there, Ahnya leads the way to Mera's house. When aunt Merdi answers the door, she looks up at Ahnya in apparent surprise, then notices me a bit behind and to the side of her. One of Merdi's eyebrows rises. Then her lips curve into a smirk. "Merases! Your girlfriends are here!" After that, she offers Ahnya her right hand. "Merdi. Nice to meet you young lady."

"Ahnya, a pleasure to make your acquaintance, ma'am. I can certainly see where Mera gets her looks." Ahnya shakes Merdi's hand, though her lips purse slightly, as if she was thinking of kissing the back of her hand.

Mera squeezes past her mother through the doorway. "Ara, Ahnya! I was starting to wonder if you two were going to make it. C'mon, let's go!" She abruptly pulls me into a hug with Ahnya, Ahnya's hand slipping from Merdi's handshake to touch my back lightly.

Then the hug ends before I can even manage to bring my hands up as Mera breaks away to run off in the general direction of the central district. My left hand brushes against Ahnya's dress as my head turns to follow Mera, with my right hand just barely reaching towards her. "What the? Usually I'm the excitable one."

"Ha ha, don't worry about it. Let's just catch up. Hope to meet you again later ma'am." With a small wave to Merdi, we follow Mera, even having to run a bit to catch up.

When we enter the townhall, Mera and Ahnya approach the front desk confidently, but I pause a ways back, eyebrows scrunched up, lips and cheeks pouting, and hands clenched into fist. "Okay, seriously. What the hells are we doing here?!"

Ahnya turns back from the desk just enough to look my way with the smuggest little smirk. "Picking up the keys to our new house, of course. Uf fu fuu~" With me stunned into silence, she turns back to the desk, and exchanges a small bag of coins for a small bag of slightly ornate keys, one of which she holds up to look at.

The clerk behind the desk counts out the coins, one small stack of weird greenish silver metal, and a couple large stacks of gold next to it. "Payment seems to be in order. Though mithril coinage doesn't see much use out on the frontier, ma'am. Ehem. If you could sign here, here, and here, and have your, partners sign here?" He points to a few places on a sheet of paper.

Ahnya scratches away at the paper briefly, then hands the pen to Mera. Ahnya glances back to me, still hesitating several meters back, then beckons me forward.

"Oookay?" I creep forward until it is clear everybody else is waiting on me, then I jump the last couple meters. I snatch the pen and hastily scrawl my name next to Mera's.

Pen and paper back in hand, the clerk stands. "I'll file this right away. Though I must say, I've never seen someone get quite so many copies made of their key."

"One for each of us, a couple for the two long term live in maids, a few for other maids cycling in from my extended staff. Aaand a couple more in case any other girls get involved." Ahnya grins before passing the first key she had been fiddling with to me, then fishing out another for Mera. "Thank you for your assistance, and have a nice day." With that, Ahnya turns around and leads the way out.

Leading right to a multi story building with a huge yard surrounded by its own three meter tall stone wall, less than a five minute walk away from the townhall. She pulls a third key out of the bag to open the gate, then strides forward boldly to the front door which opens with the same key.

"Welcome to what is, officially, our shared vacation home. Though naturally, you two can just move in entirely, if you'd like. Even if you don't, it's at least a good place for some privacy, when you need it. Unfortunately it was the only mansion up to the minimum standards for someone of my station was available, but not bad. Of course, Mera was already in on the plan, hence the shopping spree she was on while we were adventuring yesterday. Ah, speaking of." She turns away from the door and waves her hand in the air. Then a three meter tall window appears that shows a different view through it than the plain grassy yard and stone wall that should have been there. Specifically, what looks like a fancy flower garden that puts the one around the dungeon in town to shame.

Ahnya whistles through the window, and a minute or so later, three girls in maid outfits approach the other side. Then they simply, step through. A few seconds after they come through, Ahnya leans through it to look around before coming back out, then waves the window out of existence. "Only one extra for now? Haaa, well. That should be plenty, given the modest size of the property, and general abilities of the maid class. And with only three of you missing, we might keep things a little secretive for a while. Well, introduce yourselves. I, imagine you three will become quite well acquainted with the two of them before long, so I would like you to approach them as equals, buuut, I know two of you are, very fond of the maid roleplay. So all three may as well play into it for the introductions?"

The smallest of the three perks up at the end of Ahnya's speech. This girl is even shorter than me, about a hundred fifty centimeters, but is almost as voluptuous as Mera. She has a cute button nose and small round ears, and bright red and orange hair, which is currently contained in a pair of tails, but seems like it'd be quite wild if freed. Her maid outfit is mostly business with just a bit of playful frills. She smiles, then curtsies. "Good morning Ma'am and young misses Aradain and Merases. Flamaura Cognit at your service. Flam for short, if it would please you."

The second one to act is the tallest, a slender graceful girl roughly two hundred fifteen centimeters in height. Her skin is unusual. Slightly rough looking with a sort of sandy coloration. Mostly dull gray with small spots in dark browns or black. Her hair is dark green and fairly short, but in a stylish bob. Her maid outfit is far more playful. The brightest and frilliest pink and white outfit I've ever seen, in fact. Her eyes are locked on my own current coral and white outfit as she does a more showy curtsy. By which I mean she hiked her knee length skirt up about halfway, showing off more leg than I even have. "Kamaritt, eager to serve m'ladies in any fashion you require. Though my friends call me Kammy."

The third girl is fairly average in height, but her skin is light green. Everything else is darker green. Her maid outfit barely covers her up. Frankly it's more like a black and white frilled bikini. She seems like she's wearing more leaves than cloth. A few leaves stuck in her wild hair, and long trails of them on her shoulders and down her back. Her figure is a bit modest, but she is still bustier than me. Lacking a skirt to grab for a curtsy, she just waves slightly dreamily. "Hello, uh, ma'ams. Lovely sun you've got up here. Won't get into my real name, since that's more an hour long poem than the brief identifiers humans use. But, feel free to call me Willow."

I roll my tongue in my mouth, trying to think of how to approach what I'll say. "Hi, I'm Aradain. Guess you three already knew? What, uhh, are all of you? The short one feels, not quite human? Kammy has a presence similar to the humanoid species, but not one I know. And uh, Willow is some kind of monster, like Rin?" My head turns to look at Ahnya. "Do you just, employ a bunch of sexy monster-girls in bikinis?"

Ahnya breaks into a laughing fit before Willow speaks again. "I'm nothin' like Rin. I have a good reason to barely cover up. Photosynthesis, baby. And I'm not just a vague monster, I'm a Hamadryad, a carnivorous, and yes, monstrous, subspecies of Dryad. In the wild, I would seduce and poison travelers through my home forest. But uhh, my grove approved of neither my preference for women, nor my particular poison being, less than fatal, so to say. Hm, would you care to-"

"Ahem. Not right now, Willow. Much as I would love to see the, show you would put on, we do have a fair bit to do, just now. As for the monster girls, most of them are more like pets. And I do mean that sexually. But several do like to play at being maids. They certainly don't all wear bikinis. Some of them wear much less." Ahnya smirks, then shakes her head and waves toward Flam.

"Well Miss, I am half human half gnome. Nothing special. Though I admit gnomes are uncommon this far north. In fact, their main enclave is far into the southern half of the island. Of course, I've never been there. But I've, heard a fair bit." She sticks her tongue out slightly, then shrugs.

Kammy steps forward and grabs both my hands. "Miss Aradain, I'm so excited to get to know you. Mistress has informed me that you can breathe water. I'm one of the river folk, or Ulreich as other people call us, so naturally, I can as well."

"Well, we haven't confirmed that, but Ahnya certainly seems sure of it." Mera's words cause my gaze to shift to the side. "Hmm? What did you do?!" Mera leans in to pinch my cheek.

Before I can dig myself into a deeper hole, Ahnya speaks up. "I was with her. So if it had turned out that she couldn't, I would have fished her out. Besides it's better to have proper confirmation before it could ever come up organically, right?" There is a slight mischievous sparkle in her eyes after that last line. But, I won't object, since she is helping.

Mera tugs on my cheek a moment more before letting go. "Fine. But it does clear up my bit of guilt over our plan for the day."

Ahnya claps her hands before I can wonder about Mera's statement. "Right, so moving on. Flam, make sure the house is clean, and manage the spare keys for now. Kammy, unpack the clothes from the spatial bag Mera is holding. It should be perfectly obvious which clothes belong to who, given the size differences between the three of us, but we haven't selected rooms yet, and I am not even certain of the structure of the building. There may well be a dedicated dressing room with a large walk in closet we could share? But I'm sure you can figure it out, or we can reorganize later as needed. Willow, you know your business better than I do."

All three girls say, "Yes, Ma'am." at the same time, two with curtsies, one with a silly salute, then start moving. Willow walks over to a small, artfully crafted tree, slings an arm over its lower branches, then seemingly starts conversing with it. Kammy accepts a bag from Mera that I hadn't noticed, since it is small and innocuous. Meanwhile, Flam snatches the bag of keys and disappears into the house so quickly, I barely saw her moving.

"Aradain, lil' Blue. Your task for the day, is to keep yourself occupied. Preferably in town. Explore the new house, pick out a room you like. Move things from your dad's house to here, if you are gonna just move in? You can even use the spatial bag I lent Mera for that. Flirt with the maids, so long as you don't get in the way of their work. Or you could show them around town, especially in regards to where to shop for food and the like? If none of that is appealing, I suppose you can just find a cute girl to take out on a date."

I tilt my head to the right. "This situation feels, weird. But I don't quite get it. What exactly is going on?"

Ahnya smiles wryly, with her tails flickering to the side. "Weeeelll. As of yesterday, you are level nine. Mera is only level six. So our plan for today is to get Mera at least two levels, three if possible of course. Which is entirely doable, but maybe not guaranteed. Might even need tomorrow too. But, for the part you won't like, if you come along, that kind of defeats the purpose of helping her catch up to you. Basically, Mera and I are going on an adventure today. On the bright side, once she's about at your same level, you two and Tir might be able to fight that, dimensional anchor monster."

"Oh. Well, I guess it makes sense that you two can go without me, since we went without her. But yeah, it is a little, uhhmm. . . Boring? That doesn't sound quite right. I guess I just don't like not adventuring when it is an option?" I scratch my cheek and tilt my head again. "Sorry if that sounds, bratty? Is that a brat thing? Know you called me that a couple times. Anyway, I respect your decision there. Even if I don't quite like it."

"You can't control how you feel, but you can control how you act on how you feel. That's perfectly normal, and honestly more mature than I expected of you. Good Girl~" Ahnya pats my head encouragingly. "I'll be sure to make it up to you later. If you want, you can walk part way there with us. Maybe split up at the town gate? Just, make sure you remember how to get back here if you intend to come back right after."

"I have a good sense of direction. Plus, Willow is the strongest monster in town, so I can at least follow her presence back."

"How far can you sense these things from?" Ahnya's eyebrows are furrowed.

I shrug. "I don't know. Just felt like the thing to say. Besides, if I start at the townhall there's no way I could miss it."

"I really need to test your senses sometime." Ahnya sighs and shakes her head. "Well, let's go for a walk, then? Given the way things seem to go around you, you'll probably find something to do on the way."

"Ahh, okaay?" With Ahnya taking the lead we walk towards the northern edge of town.

After a few minutes of walking Mera starts fidgeting. Then she grabs my hand and drags me forward to match up alongside Ahnya. From there she passes my left hand to Ahnya's right, then grabs my own right hand with her left, then we settle into walking with me holding hands with both of them.

When we are just a few dozen meters from the north gate, a familiar voice gasps, then calls out. "There you are!"

As my gaze turns to the left, first I notice Ahnya's smirk. Then I see a small, platinum blond elf in simple but well made mage robes running over.

"Ah Keiuri, right?" I raise my right hand to wave, only to pause upon realizing that I'm still holding Mera's hand. "Ah, um. Hello."

Keiuri runs up to stop a meter in front of us. "Oh? Both of them? Geeze. Ahem. Hello Aradain. I uhm, was wondering if you would like to join me for lunch. I made it myself. Well, Cresla helped. But it was mostly me!" She holds out a small basket that smells of fresh bread, fried meat, and mixed fruit. "As thanks for saving me, the other day. Ahemm. Upon reflection, I definitely don't hate you for nearly attacking me, given the circumstances."

"Oh, that's okay I guess. I didn't really have a plan for the day yet?"

Ahnya releases my hand to pat my head, then leans way down to whisper in my ear. "Clearly crushing on you now~ I say go for it. Fair warning though, high elves are particularly, difficult to deal with in, certain regards."

Keiuri's face glows, with a mixture of embarrassment, and accidental light magic. "That s-shouldn't be an issue yet, um, ma'am."

I turn partway to look at Ahnya, then back to Keiuri. "What do you mean? What's going on?"

Ahnya smacks my butt lightly while shooing me towards Keiuri. "You'll figure it out. Or, I'll explain it once it is an 'issue' as she says, if you don't quite make sense of it on your own~"

Mera grins slightly, then passes the hand she was still holding to Keiuri. "Trusting you with our girlfriend for the day. Play nice, you two~" She giggles at our expressions, then grabs Ahnya's hand before the two rush out the gate.

I stare down at my and Keiuri's hands. She seemingly by reflex interlaced our fingers when Mera gave her my hand. I'm sure I'm blushing, even if not so brightly as her. "Right, uhh. This is fine? Got a spot in mind for lunch?" She shakes her head meekly, so I tilt mine thoughtfully. "Hmm, I feel like, up on the wall would be good? Town guard doesn't like civilians up there, but they wouldn't make an issue of it normally, let alone with adventurers. There's a small lake, or pond, with water flowers floating atop it this time of year, just outside town. Get a pretty good view of it if we go up the wall from the stairs by the gate and walk a few kilometers along the east side."

Her smile doesn't undo her blush, but is certainly cute. "That sounds lovely, actually."

I lead Keiuri by hand up onto the five meter city wall. About halfway to our target, a guard on patrol approaches us. At first he is squinting, then seemingly recognizes me, sighs, and moves to the side enough that we can pass by.

Once we reach our destination, a point that's probably closer to the east gate than the north one, I gesture towards the small lake, the edge of which is only about twenty meters from the base of the wall. "Well, what do you think?"

". . . What are those?! When you said water flowers, I was expecting water lilies or maybe lotus blossoms. But. . ." She leans over the parapet of the wall, then casts some light magic spell, though I cannot see what it does, merely feel the workings of magic. "Oh? Maybe they are some kind of lotus? If lotuses could be black with odd, colorful gemstone things in the middle of the flower? Suppose they are, fairly pretty still?"

I chuckle, and tug on the hand I'm still holding. "Those gems are just the flowers' nectar. They turn it into large sugar pieces. Somehow. Taste is kinda inconsistent, unfortunately. The few I've tried weren't as sweet as the sugar they sell in stores either. Not that I uhh, eat sugar on its own often."

Keiuri reclaims her hand to cover her mouth as she giggles. "But you have done it, hmm?" Before I can stammer a poor excuse, she hoists the basket up onto the wall, placing it in the crenel between two merlons. A spot that seems fairly stable, given it is walled in on two sides, effectively. "Afraid I didn't bring any sugar. But hopefully, homemade bread, skewered and roasted meat, and my personal favorite fruit salad will suffice." She opens the lid showing the contents.

Two large ceramic dishes with waterproof cloths tied on top, a smaller one with the same treatment, a tall jar with four skewers resting in it, two small loaves of bread, and a few sundries like napkins and dinnerware. The glass and ceramic dishes have scraps of cloth packed around them, holding them fairly well in place and certainly padding them from each other. "Cresla made the bread, and helped with the sauce on the skewers. And finished churning the butter after I wore myself out trying. Erhm. Before you think I didn't do anything, I actually made the sauce, cooked the skewers, and cut the fruit for the salad."

"Okay. It all smells good. And, thank you, either way. Soo, bread first?"

Keiuri smiles and grabs the smaller ceramic dish. "Sure. How much butter do you like?"

With that we settle into a simple but pleasant meal. During which we talk about a few things, favorite flowers or fruit at her prompting, brief retellings of a couple of my adventures, and even a simple explanation of my unique skill, since she had already seen a bit of it anyway.

When I'm halfway through my, frankly slightly excessive, serving of fruit salad, I hear the telltale creak and twang of a bow to the north. I idly turn my head to look, just in time to hear a raging roar echo from the bit of woods close to the part of the wall where a bow wielding guardsman stands. There is an odd shift in the feel of the energy in that direction. Suddenly a blue skinned giant lunges out of the tree cover that shouldn't have quite covered him, swinging a dark blue-green weapon down at the guard atop the wall. The man barely has time to yell in surprise before he is moreso crushed, than cleaved by the weapon.

I nearly drop the ceramic dish as I stand. With my jaw set, I take a deep breath and pass the dish to Keiuri. I take my guandao out of storage and stomp towards the slowly shrinking figure outside the wall.

"W-wait! You don't have to be the one to take care of that thing! Just report it to the guards or stronger adventurers."

"No. I gave him that knife, so he's my problem now. Don't interfere." Before she can object further, I start running. When I reach the recently deceased guard, I spare a moment to close his eyes before looking over the edge of the wall.

The blue monster down below has settled at a size appropriate for a teenaged dwarf, he has changed, certainly. Level twelve, more rugged or wild looking, slightly longer horns, more muscle definition. Most peculiarly, I sense some ennui from the creature. But that is definitely a slime resin dagger, somehow connected to his right hand, not quite replacing it, but clearly not something he could easily set down, and I can still certainly recognize the creature I had given the knife to after sharing water with. He is currently straining to reach for his back with the hand that is still just a hand. He twists around, revealing an arrow stuck deep in his back, just barely past his reaching hand, until his arm lengthens a bit unnaturally, allowing him to grab the arrow and tear it free. Even now, he doesn't bleed. The ragged hole fills in quickly.

After dropping the arrow, he looks up, a flash of recognition shows on his face, then he smiles, closing his eyes, and gives a friendly wave with his knife hand. When his eyes open again, he still looks happy, for a moment, until his gaze matches the cold fury in my eyes. His expression shifts to confusion, then rage when I jump to the top edge of the rampart with my own weapon held aggressively.

The odd little monster starts swelling up again. I feel a brief sense of vertigo at the sensation that he is getting both weaker and stronger at the same time. Then I separate the feeling of energy and level from the feeling of threat and total power in my mind and clear up the conflict. He can somehow trade levels to increase his size and physical strength. It's enough to make him much stronger despite the lower level. But even when he reaches level one and is roughly seven meters tall, he isn't as strong as I am.

He swings the side of the weapon over the parapet towards me, clearly intending a blunt blow with a knife that would be an ultra greatsword in any human's hands.

I scoff, anchor myself to the wall, and thrust my guandao through the slime resin dagger, which is already enough to cause the monster to grunt in pain. The giant's knife stopped when the blade of my guandao shifted to the haft. I slash forward hard enough to split the knife, and leave a gash through the monster's forearm.

The monster roars and shakes his damaged arm, which starts slowly peeling away from the destroyed weapon. I take a moment to read the giant's reduced energy flows, finding them densest right where a human's heart would be on the massive figure. Close, surely, to where the guard's arrow had pierced from behind.

I unanchor myself from the top of the wall, then use the art of movement to cling impossibly to the outside of the wall for a bare instant, before jumping off of it with my polearm pointed right to the giant's heart.

Whatever is actually there is dense enough to stop the blade from piercing through the massive body, but with the heavy impact, the giant staggers back and falls to the ground with me standing unsteadily on the abnormally squishy body, weapon leveraged to finish things with one more application of force.

At the moment, the giant face looking up at me simply seems, sad. As if the anger from before has burned out. His intact arm reaches up, not pleadingly, not even in placation, but offering comfort as the creature pats my head. Then, he lays back and closes his eyes in resignation.

"Yeah. I feel pretty shit about this. But I can't let you go around killing people. Even if he started it." I draw a shuddering breath, then drive my guandao through the core that had already cracked under my blade.

The body quickly starts loosing cohesion, and the oddly condensed energy that spurts from the fatal wound contains ennui thick enough to make even my eyes water. Or so I tell myself, as I convert the previously friendly monster.

I hear a yelp and slight thumping noise. I turn to find Keiuri on the ground next to the wall before she stands and stalks towards me. "What was all that about?! . . Are you crying?"

I wipe my eyes with my right forearm. "That monster had the same ennui energy as me, is all."

"The uhh, energy that inflicts despair, that you live with every day of your life, without ever feeling?"

Lacking a real argument for that, I stare at her for a while, before sighing and deciding to explain properly. "I met that monster before. He was friendly. Cute even, like a little kid. But, he killed somebody, and likely would have again. So I, dealt with the problem." My voice sinks. "He wasn't even, mad. In the end. Why couldn't he, curse me in his final moment? Then I could at least be mad, now."

Keiuri nods along. "Moral complexity is a bitch. Need a shoulder to cry on?" With her arms spread wide and pure sunlight falling upon both her near silver blond hair and her upturned, gently smiling face, she looks like a goddess in this moment.

"I, could use a hug, but don't wanna cry on your shoulder. Let's just, get your basket, then head back to the house Ahnya just bought. I definitely need to relax a while or something." I put my guandao back in the warehouse, give her a brief hug, then lead the way to the east gate where we can more quickly head back up the wall.

You know, I was already thinking that Monster Conversion(with system support) was like a watered down version of the Predator/Gluttony + Great Sage combo, but it is rather starting to feel like a legion of unique skills in one form. Fitting enough given the specific overthetop quest she'll need to do before she can use the Guardian Light system to gain more uniques. Hmmm. Oh well, obvious inspiration of Sun Wukong's Ruyi Jingu Bang for Material-Energy Conversion. Also, I recognize that the chapter title is a bit of a misnomer, or even ironic, given that she got into trouble anyway. But hey, sometimes a word or phrase gets stuck in my head for a thing and thus it is.

Had slightly intended to bring the blue guy back later on at a higher level, but here we are. Needed something more to happen this chapter, and most of my other ideas would've required her to properly leave town, instead of just barely technically leaving town.
