‘The Kree race is out of the question. I’d rather not choose Kree without exact details on their appearance. The werewolf race with a lethal weakness to silver is such a turnoff. The Aesir and stronger races are out of my budget. What's the point of adding them?'

"You can get more Chaos Points in exchange for, let's say, your body or senses. Here, have a look at this~."

[Right hand — 5500 Chaos Points]

[Left hand — 5000 Chaos Points]

[Right leg — 7000 Chaos Points]

[Right leg — 7000 Chaos Points]

[Right eye — 12,999 Chaos Points]

[Left eye...]

"Can I heal them later with, you know, magic stuff?"

Magic should be available since there were angels and demons.

"No magic can heal those wounds, so it's permanent."

"Then no thanks."

He regained his former body after so long. Why would he throw it away for some Chaos Points? He gave a look over at the races again. Somehow he found himself leaning toward the Newborn Angel race. There was something about it.

‘What kind of expression would that doc make if I stabbed him while looking like an angel? Would it be utter despair or just horrifying shock?’

The curiosity was irresistible. He threw away his twisted ideas for now and wracked his brain.

The race had apparent weaknesses — the heavenly-made weapons, their wings, and fallen thingy. Well, falling might make them stronger. Don’t they say that a fallen angel is the ‘sweet spot’ for holy and evil?

“I can remove the wings if you want or make them, uh, magical in nature,” the woman said.

“What are the consequences, and will I become a god’s servant if I chose this race?”

“Your Divine Essence will be weakened by almost twenty percent. And no, you won’t be serving any god.”

“You seem like a god to me..." he shrugged. "It’s still better than someone pulling out my wings in my sleep.”

He’d be left with six hundred Chaos Points if he chose the Angel race.

“What are these points anyway?”

The woman giggled at his question. “The number of days you survived as a lab rat.”

‘Sixteen hundred days. That’s over four years.’

“Show me the traits you spoke of.”

He couldn’t decide without seeing the traits.

[Purchase your traits. Chaos Points available: 1600]

[Barbarian (50 Chaos Points): Violence solves everything. Easy proficiency gain in physical skills.]

[Scholar (100 Chaos Points): Why bother with arms when you can conquer the conquerors with your mind alone. Easy proficiency gain in mental skills.]

[Cosmic Dweller (100 Chaos Points): Energy is the path to victory. Easy proficiency gain in energy skills.]

This reminded him of his D&D days. As the nostalgia dawned on him, the list began scrolling down on its own.

[Aphrodite’s Child (200 Chaos Points): Any and every being finds you attractive to a certain extent. Reduces the chances of gaining hostility from anyone.]

Becoming friendly with a stranger could get massive information from anyone if used properly. The reduced hostility thing was a bonus for him.

[Cyclops (+150 Chaos Points): Everyone will find excuses to hate your very existence. Exponentially increases the chances of gaining hostility. Can’t be chosen with Aphrodite’s Child.]

This one gave Chaos Points instead.

[Envious Demon (+150 Chaos Points): Greed will overwhelm you. You will covet the things others have, even if it’s utterly useless]

He could take it. Greed or not, he always had a knack for stealing. The best thing he ever stole was his superior’s wife and made her moan under him, only because the man refused to give him more assignments.

[Blood maniac (0 Chaos Points): Blood will arouse your battle instincts. Enhances strength by 10% when subjected to the sight or smell of blood. Slowly corrodes your mind.]

‘Situational.’

[Super Sense (50 Chaos Points): Sense the unorthodox. Gives the ability to sense danger moments before it actually happens.]

‘Super useful.’

[Master Swordsman (125 Chaos Points): An experienced swordsman can cleave the moon with his blade. Allows you to learn sword skills with less effort.]

‘Nah, who fought with swords. Then again, the gods and demons won’t be rocking firearms.’

It might be good for a start. He nodded his head, intending to chose it later.

[Master Spearman (125 Chaos Points): An experienced spearman can conquer battlefields with his spear. Allows you to learn spear skills with less effort.]

‘Spear… no.’

[Master Smith (125 Chaos Points): A master smith can forge weapons envied by gods. Easy proficiency gain in smithing skills.]

With this trait, he could forge his weapons.

The list stopped and returned to the first page. These were all the traits he could get.

Brennus ticked the Newborn Angel race. From traits, he chose Barbarian, Scholar, Cosmic Dweller, Aphrodite’s Child, Super Sense, Master Swordsman, and Master Smith. The blue checkout button at the bottom became gray. The grand total was 1750, just the amount he could get from the Envious Demon trait.

‘This woman planned it all.’

He ticked the Envious Demon and pressed the checkout button.

A strange feeling coursed through his veins. A bright glow enveloped him, then assimilated into his body.

This looked like something out of an RPG with skills of unknown origins. The ellipses in the last skill made him deadpan.

“Could you stop trolling me please?”

The woman responded with silence.

Brennus sprang to his feet and stared at the skeleton.

‘She must be living in Hell beyond this skeleton.’

Just as he took a step forward, another voice interrupted him.

[Generating background…]

[Finished.]

[Starting the teleportation process.]

“This system is working nicely, ain’t it?”

Those were the last words he heard before his consciousness blanked out.
