“Do you get off on giving people nightmares? You know I would’ve appreciated if I never saw your face again. But I guess not all wishes are granted.”
“How mean, but I know you’re lying seeing me again is exactly what you need tonight so how about we put this afternoon’s events past us and talk like normal people?”
Looking at Eric once more Roman scoffs under his breath before smirking, getting teased at his ages seems a bit weird. But who is he to complain when he knows exactly what to do when it comes to a man like Eric.
“Oh? But last time I checked you’re far from normal, didn’t you have a hole through your head just a few hours ago? What happened to that huh?”
Leaning closer to Roman a bit Eric voice drops just enough for Roman to hear, talking about something so unsettling at a time like this is bold of Roman and that’s what he loves about him. Someone who’s not afraid of speaking his mind even if it could get him killed just a perfect man waiting to be tainted by the devil himself.
“Are you interested about that hole? Don’t worry about it and talk to me about anything besides that stupid mistake.”
“Mistake? Are you saying showing me what you are was a mistake. Because I sure as hell didn’t think it was a mistake. Get yourself a drink it’s on my tab.”
Taping the counter again Roman calls Liz over once more, seeing the man sitting next to Roman, Liz figures he’s a friend and speaks in a friendly voice. But seeing the man’s face clearly Liz immediately recognizes it’s Eric he’s a regular at the bar for her but these days she’s rarely seen him it’s a miracle he’s here now.
“I know damn well that’s not you Eric? I didn’t know you knew Roman I would’ve gave him special treatment. Anyways you want the usual Eric?”
“Guilty as charged, been a while Liz and yeah we’re good friends, get him another round of what he got and I would like my usual.”
Honestly I shouldn’t have been surprised when Liz said his name so casually but I was, someone I thought was unknown and mysterious turns out to be well known. Watching the two of them interact made me want to ask questions but for once I held my tongue I didn’t want to say anything that would push Eric away from me. Even if that meant I had to sit back and watch him interact and talk with other people, I just wanted him near me in that moment. Once Liz finished with our drinks I finally noticed his usual, a Bloody Mary cocktail and out of any drink on that menu that was the last one I expected him to get.
“You like Bloody Mary’s? I didn’t expect you of all people to like a drink like that”
Taking a sip of his drink Eric chuckles softly before speaking he expected such a comment from Roman and he’s not mad at it.
“Hell yeah, I really only like the color but now the taste has grown on me. You shouldn’t be talking, rum & coke really? I’m not mad at it because it suits you.”
“Tell me something, are you aware of what kind of person you’re teasing? I don’t want you to make a mistake and take your anger out on me or something.”
Dropping his smirk Roman voice sobers up a bit as he waits for Eric’s answer.
“I know. And I don’t care, in your case you’re what I want at the moment and if it isn’t obvious by now I always get what I want. Now enough talking like that and let’s change the subject”
“Fine I understand. I’m what you want, but why should I give you what you want huh? What do I get out of giving in to you?”
Thinking for a moment Eric smirks before crossing one of his legs over the other.
“I can give you anything you want. No matter how big or small it may be I can personally guarantee you’ll get what you want.”
Hearing Eric’s tempting words I wanted nothing more than to take him back home and give him exactly what he wanted. I was playing a dangerous game of stupidity and ignorance all for the chance of Eric possibly being under me that night. But I had to keep my mind focused on the things that mattered and if Eric knew anything about the case that was the perfect opportunity to bring it up.
“Fine, you can give what I want? Then we’ll trade you give me what I want then I’ll give you what you want.”
Getting off of the stool Roman walks towards the end of the counter of the bar towards Liz. Asking to close his tab Liz understands immediately and goes to close his tab out, after a few moments Liz comes back with the bill. Pulling out his wallet Roman pays for the bill before taking a step back, looking at Eric with a deadpan expression Roman tilts his head in a follow me motion. Understanding the motion Eric takes one final sip out of his drink before standing up and walks towards Roman, standing next to Roman, Eric can’t help but chuckle at how close they are in height. Walking out of the bar the two of them stay silent before Roman takes the photo of the tattoo out of his pocket, handing it to Eric, Roman speaks as his voice comes out completely sober.
“This was found on the victim, it’s nothing important I just want to know one thing. Do you know who did this tattoo?”
Looking at the photo in his hand Eric smiles slightly before looking at Roman’s side profile as they walk towards Roman’s car.
“I can’t sure as hell tell you who did it, the tattoo is a club’s symbol members only sort of thing but this place shut down three years ago. So I highly doubt this old thing has anything to do with your case.”
Handing Roman back the photo Eric puts his hands in his pockets before stopping. Looking at the back of Roman’s head Eric eyes narrows slightly before he scoffs, hearing Eric scoff Roman speaks once more as he opens his car door. Grabbing a pack of cigarettes, and a lighter out of the glove compartment Roman closes his door back.
“That’s for me to decide. But if this is related to a club we can at least get a bit of information out of that place, it’s best to know if the victim offended anyone that might lead up to his death. Come on.”
Turning around Roman looks down at Eric as he lights a cigarette before grabbing his hand. Pulling Eric towards an ally Roman offers Eric a cigarette, taking a cigarette for himself Eric doesn’t light it instead he waits till they’re in the alley.
“Is this what you do with everyone? Or am I special to you or something?”
Humming under his breath Eric pulls his hand out of Roman’s grip before leaning back against the wall. Holding the cigarette between his fingers Eric waits patiently, Roman takes a drag out of his cigarette as he stands in front of Eric with a dead expression before speaking.
“Nah you’re special. Extremely special, in fact this is my first time normally I would just take someone home with me. But unfortunately I can’t trust you enough for that.”
Finally putting the cigarette to his lips Eric smiles slightly, taking a step closer to Eric, Roman can practically feel Eric clothes against his own. Grabbing Eric’s chin Roman puts his own lit cigarette up against Eric’s before blowing into his own cigarette lighting Eric’s in the process.
