MIKHAIL OSBORNE

_____________________________________________________________

Mitchell’s move was ruthless. It hasn’t even been a complete day since Auriel had given birth and he already brought the divorce paper. It was as if he had long prepared the paper and that he merely needs to go down to his car and grab the paper. Auriel had also expected it. After all, he knew that Mitchell has long wanted to divorce him, he just needed a good reason to convince the council to agree.

The paper stated that after the divorce, Auriel will have full custody of all their sons. Meaning, Mitchell really didn’t want to take care of his omega children that he threw them all along with Auriel.

When Raegis saw this scene, only one word came to his mind: ‘Scum’.

Even his father, Laenard Valruch is not as scummy as this person. ‘Oh wait, I forgot that now I am born again… this person is my new father.’

‘No. I refuse to call this person as my father! Dad! Sign the damn paper! When I’m older, I promise I will take care of you!’

Of course, Raegis’s inner thought couldn’t be conveyed by the child’s tongue and vocal cord. Every sound he made ends up being nonsensical babbles. Unfortunately, Mitchell saw this and thought that he was trying to get his attention, so his face contorted in rage and in his irritation, he yelled at him. “Shut up! You piece of failure should just—”

His sentence didn’t even finish before the door to the ward was pushed open. Mitchell’s attention immediately shifted to the person who opened the door, wanting to scold the new person. But the words he wanted to say was stuck in his throat the moment he saw the figure by the door.

“Brother, since he wanted to divorce you, just sign the paper. Our Osborne family haven’t fallen that low yet that we can’t even take care of ourselves,” the person simply ignored Mitchell and walked over to the chair beside the bed.

“Mikhail…” Auriel called out to him.

“It’s alright. Grandfather and I will help you take care of your children. We don’t need this bastard’s help at all,” ‘Mikhail’ said as he glanced at Mitchell coldly.

Raegis had been staring at this person the moment he sat on the chair. If he can describe him in one word, then Raegis could only say: ‘Transcendent’.

Be it his appearance, or that spiritual strength that Raegis could sense from the other’s body. Everything is a top-notch. But what surprised him the most is the other’s eyes. He could feel himself being pulled into its depth, and he instinctively reached his hand out, wanting to touch that amber colored eyes.

Mikhail saw this action of his nephew and couldn’t help but frown. But the more he looks at the infant, the more he felt his heart being melted so he slowly reached out and took hold of the baby from Auriel. “Brother, while I am still here. Hurry and sign the paper so that the unrelated party can scram off.”

His words and sentence are cold, but when he looked at Raegis, his eyes were gentle. The more Raegis looked into his eyes, the more he felt his soul being sucked into it. In the end, he had to look away and coincidentally, the direction he looked to is where Mitchell was standing.

Mitchell’s expression was ugly, and he seems to want to say something to Mikhail. But in the end, he held himself back. Since he is unable to say anything to Mikhail, he turned to Auriel instead. “Hurry and sign the paper!”

Auriel was still hesitant. After all, he was married to this man for a good twenty years. Even if the marriage were arranged at first, he still couldn’t help but feel attachment to Mitchell. He always thought that feelings could be cultivated and that maybe one day, they too can be a loving couple. It was only unfortunate that he is the only one who think that way.

“Brother, why are you hesitating? It is not that the two of you are bonded anyway,” Mikhail said to Auriel as he urged his brother to sign it.

In the end, Auriel reluctantly signed the paper and Mitchell, as if not wanting to waste another single second, took the paper and walked away. Before he closed the door, he left a final sentence to his former spouse: “You have a week to remove all of your belongings. The children’s too.”

Once the door is closed, Auriel lets out a heavy sigh. His heart feels heavy and now that the paper is signed, he suddenly became worried of his two sons back at home. As if sensing his worry, Mikhail said, “Don’t worry about Rufus and William. I’ve already brought them over to my place before coming here.”

“Thank you. But Mikhail, why are you here? Aren’t you supposed to be on your way to Spira Colony?” Auriel asked.

“After hearing that you’re giving birth, I told those people that I want to see my nephew first.”

“I see…”

“You should rest first, brother. You’ve fought a hard battle recently. That bastard from the House of Vitalis shouldn’t bother you anymore so you can rest more easy,” Mikhail said as he handed Raegis back to Auriel. “Rest and once you get discharged, we’ll discuss more on what to do in the future. I will go and help you take care of your stuff at your ex-husband’s house.”

When Mikhail left, Raegis felt a sense of longing. But with Auriel coaxing him, he soon fell into a deep sleep. Once his baby was asleep, Auriel finally whispered to the sleeping Raegis. “Since your father won’t name you now… it is my responsibility to give you a name, right? Let’s see… how about Julius? Julius Osborne have a nice ring to it,” Auriel said with a smile on his face. Thus, begins a new chapter of Raegis’s life as Julius Osborne. But little did he know that his identity would be something that can be considered an anomaly, something that the rest of the world would consider an abomination in the far future.

Just outside the hospital, Mikhail had got into his hover craft. The gentle expression that he had given Auriel and Raegis from before is gone, replaced with a cold, murderous look. His hand went to his chest as he recalled what he had experienced just a few hours ago.

To him, it had felt surreal. Just moments ago, he had been stabbed in the heart by his so called fated ‘fated pair’. Then, just as he thought that he is going to die, he found himself sitting inside the space terminal, about to board the space craft to Spira Colony. When he looked at his ticket, he saw that he had actually returned to thirty years in the past. He then decidedly turned away from boarding the space craft and head directly to his brother’s home, hoping to not only change his destiny, but also his family’s.

This was the reason why he brought his two nephews away from the House of Vitalis, and also why he urged his brother to sign the divorce paper. Because, in his original timeline he didn’t know that his brother had given birth and went directly to Spira Colony. His brother didn’t the divorce paper and he, along with the newborn child ends up dead, murdered by the people from House of Vitalis. When he found out about it, his two nephews were abandoned on the streets, left to fend for themselves. The oldest’s fate was even worse since he had to rely on pleasuring both alphas and betas despite his young age just have a mean of survival.

When he found them, they were both traumatized and worse for wear. It had taken him a long time before he could let the two of them heal from their trauma. Mikhail had also created the Omega Underground Association called Notre Libre which carries the meaning ‘Our Liberation’. Things had been going well. They were able to recruit a lot of omega who doesn’t want to submit to their destiny, and there are also few alphas and betas who shared the same sentiment, wanting equality between all classes. It was only unfortunate that Mikhail’s so called ‘fated pair’ is the Empire’s dog and they were betrayed. His nephews died; the associations gone. His comrades were hunted with the order of kill on sight. In the end, he also died at the hand of his ‘fated pair’.

Just remembering this made Mikhail’s eyes frost over and one could even sense the bloodthirst that Mikhail was emitting. “Since I’ve come back to the past… those who betrayed me, I will pay it back by hundred folds!” he hissed under his breath.
