["Ding" Special spell acquired: 'Chain Of Command']
The notifications continued further.
["Ding" The unique trait 'Soul Tunnel' has evolved into the Rare Spell 'Soul Corridor']
Xuan nodded at the information, while Luna wiped his cheeks with her tongue. Her fur had turned sparkly blue, seven gems of blue decorated her forehead. The strength in her very being had also risen greatly. Where before a small amount of silver aura exuded off of her, now it almost burst off of her with vicious force.
He activated his new spell 'Chain Of Command'. Based on the information about its usage, which the system had directly transferred to his head, it gave him the status panels of the spirit born under him.
He directed it at Luna.

True Name: Lunaria
Race: Spirit Born => Demi-Spirit

Affinity: Moon
Spell: Moon Gleam (Unique), Lost Constraint (Unique), Nemesis (Rare), Triple Crowns Protection (Rare)

Those were some neat spells she had. Based on the data [Demon] had gathered from their last battle, 'Moon Gleam' was basically her sole offensive spell. She used it to cloak her claws and jaws with a lethal course of dense, moon attribute mana. It basically worked like an amplifier of things. Based on his observation, it was the equivalent of gold.
While Phaeron's [Silver Hunt] contained the effect equivalent of silver. In this world, silver allowed for efficient and fast flow of mana, meaning one could manipulate their mana more seamlessly. Gold, on the other hand, allowed the amplification of spells and techniques by a certain amount. The amount depended on the quantity of gold used and their purity.
'Lost Constraint' was the spell she used to increase or decrease her height and even the heights of others. To manipulate the height of others, naturally, she'd need to be in touch with them or have her mana attached to them.
Quite the spell it was. It was a spell every man wished they had, maybe even the women too.
As for the last spell, Xuan had no idea about it. He could obtain it through 'Chain Of Command', though he wondered if it was the right thing to do.
He was their lord and everything, sure, but did that grant him the liberty to pry into the specific spells they themselves had chosen not to show yet? According to the system, the answer was yes.
But he'd prefer to take the owner's permission first, though he doubted they'd refuse.
"Luna."
"Yes?" Her head tilted.
"Can I see your spell?" He should elaborate more. "Like, I've obtained a special spell which allows me to see and know the description of all the spells you have." Now that he thought about it, it sounded similar to 'I've a magic spell which allows me to know your darkest secrets, so will you give me permission to use it on you?'
"Sure," she said.
"That's quick, are you really sure? Think about it well."
Luna didn't even blink. "I am really sure, my lord can see whatever he wishes to." She said with a straight face while her tongue worked on his face.
"Well, if you say so."
He activated the specific function of the spell that allowed one to see their subordinates' spell descriptions.
Several blue panels opened up with crisp sounds. On the panels, the descriptions were all written in plain white, in elven tongue.
He ignored the rest of the spells and focused on the specific spell 'Nemesis'.
[Nemesis (Rare): Allows for the user to isolate their greatest foe in a pocket dimension. In it, all spells of transportation cease to function.]
Xuan blinked twice and stared at Luna. The simple wolf that acted so huggable had something this vicious in store.
He wondered what Akupara held. He pointed his spell toward the buffed turtle.
***
True Name: Akupara
Race: Spirit Born => Earth Fairy
Level: 400
Affinity: Earth/Wood/Water
Spell: Terra Force (Unique), Elder Guardian (Rare), Call Of Mermaids (Rare), Triple Crowns Protection (Rare)
***
The old man, or the former old man, looked at him with anticipation. Of the many of the turtle's spells, the one of most interest to him was the mermaid one.
Based on the information he'd gotten, it allowed one to call on the mermaids. But that was it.
One of these days, I'd have to watch it.
And that was it. He should probably clean himself up now, and after breakfast, go and check on the other evolved spirit borns.
He conjured some water, cleaned his face, then dried himself with some conjured wind. It wasn't like his body produced any waste. Even the sweat his body exuded was more akin to extremely fresh water. It was just that as a former human, he felt a lot more comfortable after washing himself first thing in the morning.
It also felt pretty nice having both Akupara and Luna greet him with so much enthusiasm and joy. Waking up to their happy, even if somewhat reverent, faces brightened his own mood too.
Next, it was a sweet time to enjoy some desserts. For whatever reason, again, the quality of food they'd brought had taken a significant jump. Unlike his first breakfast, where he was served mostly fruits and some desserts, this time there were confections of myriad kinds, with even the inclusion of cakes with fine whipped cream on top.
He dug in and addressed Akupara.
"Say, Akupa, how come my breakfast has done a complete one-eighty in quality?"
"Oh that, my lord, that's because of Medusa."
"Medusa?" Xuan tilted his head, trying to imagine how a snake could improve dishes, before a realization dawned on him.
"She used some sort of hypnotic poison in these or something?"
Like, he had poison resistance. But that had adapted to her poison before she'd evolved. Who's to say that after evolving, the snake hadn't gotten some psychotic trait to her poison which made the stuff not only taste good but look good too.
I'd also told her to lick only me, which in hindsight could be taken as: you can only apply your poison on me without worry!
The turtle seemed to study his expression for a bit. "Lord, I believe we've gotten ourselves into some kind of misunderstanding here."
"Yeah, like what?" He said while simultaneously prompting [Demon] to analyze the food for any poisonous and hypnotic substances.
Luna, on the other hand, who'd been sitting idly and listening to their conversation, made an 'Aha' face before taking off.
"Lord, I believe you'd understand what the turtle wants to explain once you see her!" She said before running out the door.
By the time they arrived with Medusa, his spell had also completed its analysis.
[Analysis Completed: The food contains no harmful substances pertaining to hypnotic or poisonous in nature, not in any significant quantity to cause harm. Though trace amounts exist, such as spices, they are not in the quantity to cause harm, and may in fact increase the food's taste.]
Yeah, thanks but no thanks. Because all these elaborate explanations had become meaningless as he laid his eyes on Medusa.
Pale skin fading into white, pearlescent scales. Long white hair, with a figure that began as human with all the traits of a human female before extending into a snake's from her waist down. Blue eyes that still shimmered with a restless, erratic light, with each pupil now ringed by a delicate ring of gold.
She looked like a picture-perfect lamia, a race of half human and half snake he'd known about even back on earth. She wore no clothes, but her scales extended to the right places to function as some. They wrapped around her human body with an elegant and seductive charm, though he wondered if he should have some clothes made for her. Because those scales didn't do too good a job of covering those blessed mounds.
She proceeded to give a graceful bow. "My Master, you've woken up." She said, her voice coming out low and husky in tone, the sides of her teeth looking particularly sharp. "I'm glad." Her eyes shifted to the foods in the crate, much of which he'd already consumed.
Also, her hissiness on each word was gone. He missed that.
Before she could ask the obvious, he jumped in first. "You cooked all this?" He asked. She nodded, cheeks flushed, though now it looked more charming on her than weird. "Well, it was super tasty! Didn't know you'd learn to cook this well right after evolving."
"Thank you, master. It was all due to your grace that me and my people could complete a journey that was supposed to take a lifetime." She further added, "As for the cooking, I've acquired a spell which allows for better manipulation of my poisons, and it seems elven cuisine uses a good amount of mild poison."
She was probably referring to the spices.
As for her people, Xuan wondered if they'd evolved into lamia too. He also wanted to see her status now that she'd spoken of that spell. He asked for her permission first, to which she happily and instantly agreed. If there had been even a trace of hesitation on her face, he was ready to not use it on her. But there was none.
[Notice: Activate Spell 'Chain Of Command'?]

True Name: Medusa
Race: Spirit Born => Mistral Lamia
Level: 267
Affinity: Psychic/Metal/Poison
Spell: Self Domination (Unique), Purple Queen (Unique), Metal Shift (Rare), Extra Extension (Rare), Triple Crowns Protection (Rare)
***
Among the ladder of spell rarities, unique was just below special, and special was below the rank of ultimate. So Medusa having multiple unique spells was really impressive, because unlike Luna and Akupara, she was no monstrously strong level three hundred.
Having multiple unique spells was a significant deal, because they, true to their name, were unique to the individual who owned them, meaning they cannot be in the possession of multiple entities at the same time.
Though, of every spell she had, he felt particular curiosity towards the Purple Queen spell. He focused 'Chain Of Command' over it. A single blue panel popped into existence.
[Purple Queen (Unique): The Queen of Purple reigns!
Upon activation the user is transformed into a form most suitable for poison manipulation and becomes immune to all poisons.
Extra Effects: Eyes of Paralysis. The poisonous gaze restricts the opponent in place, halting all movements.]
That sounded really overpowered. Also, she hadn't cooked all this while using this spell, had she?
That last extra effect — he wondered if she'd gotten that before or after she'd evolved.
There was one thing he had been meaning to ask her, and even Luna and Akupara, after seeing all these spells of theirs. Now was probably the right time.
Or not, as Elhem burst into the room with a particularly concerned look. He immediately pulled on his clothes and walked up to him.
"My lord," he huffed, "you've finally woken." He breathed.
"Yeah, I have, good to see you." He looked over at the old man. Had he come here right after waking up from sleep, without cleaning his face or taking a bath? "What happened?" He asked.
"Well," he stood back up, having caught his breath after what seemed like a good amount of exhaustion. He'd probably run to his place. This house Akupara and the others had built was just in front of his tree body after all, while Elhelm's house was a solid distance away.
Though, he'd expected him to still not tire, being a high-leveled individual and all that. And yet, it seemed levels didn't make you much more immune to the effects of age, physically at least. It probably didn't take as much of a toll on a warrior, probably.
"I'm really happy to see you awake, my lord. That's the main reason I came over in a hurry." He said, looking shiftily at the spirit born. "But since you seemed prepared to go outside, I believe it's best to tell you beforehand." He gave him an apologetic look. "I believe the elders of the village have some points they'd like to discuss with you.”
