"Oh, it's already morning. Crap. I'm too sleepy."

I stretched out my limbs, followed by the cracking noise of my joints.

[7:01 AM]

"Fuck, I don't want to go to school," I muttered under my breath.

There's a reason for that.

I have ADHD, and I hate doing things that are boring, and school is at the top of my list of boring activities.

I wish I could just drop out.

But my parents are hellbent on me finishing college and wouldn't allow me to drop out.

I'm still living under them so I got no choice, plus they're paying for my tuition.

I still haven't finished working on my project. But I don't think I could finish it today either. Fuck. I guess I'll have to go today.

I opened my phone to see 5 notifications.

"I want to avail 15 days on XSeed Trainer. I already sent the payment."

Oh, a new customer, that's great.

I opened the attached digital payment receipt and cross-referenced the transaction IDs on my online bank account. There was indeed a payment with that transaction ID.

With that, I opened the XSeed Trainer's management menu and generated an account with a 15-day duration.

"Okay. Here's your account. User: 0x1201 - Pw: c!D0zFV. You can change your username and password under the profile menu on the app. Let me know if you have other questions. Thanks."

Then I opened the other messages.

"Boss Arch, an update is coming today! Can you update it as soon as possible?"

I checked the date on my phone.

[July 14, 2023]

Right, today was the EP 32 patch of Alva Online. Fuck, I'm not even done experimenting with new cheat features, and there's already a new patch coming.

Usually, patches come in either server-side or client-side updates. Server-side updates are fairly common, occurring twice every week, usually just performance tweaks or bug fixes on the backend or enabling rotating events like EXP boosts. Sometimes there's the monthly events where the event NPC appears to sell event-only items. These events usually lasted for 1-3 months.

Then there are the big patches where both server-side and client-side updates happen. It usually happened every six months up to 3 years.

These updates are headache-causing since the client application is rebuilt, the offsets and addresses will change, and I have to scan and retrace to get the new ones. The main issue is that the player and map struct would change as new struct variables are added. I need to scan and retrace those, and a lot of features use several offsets inside the player and map struct.

My main cause for concern is that I will have to redo my incomplete and experimental cheat features due to the change in addresses and offsets.

Well, at least I have a good reason to go to school today.
