I couldn't just stand there and watch as the knights fought for their lives against the werewolf invaders.

“We have to totally help them!” I shouted.

“Are you kidding me?” Kevin exclaimed.

“If we do, they will put us back inside the dungeon!” Salina said harshly. “Remember what happened when we helped that stupid village?”

Despite Salina and Kevin's protests, I decided to help the knights. I quickly found a sword on the ground and took it up in my hand.

As I charged into battle, my heart was pounding with fear and adrenaline. The werewolves were fierce and strong, but I was determined to fight them off. I swung my sword with all my might, trying to land a blow on the creatures.

The battle was intense, with swords clashing and the sounds of snarling and growling all around me. I could feel the heat of the fight on my skin, and the sweat running down my back.

At one point, a werewolf lunged at me, and I barely dodged its attack. I felt the rush of air as its claws missed my face by inches. I swung my sword, and it landed a hit on the creature's shoulder. It let out a howl of pain, and I knew I had wounded it.

I fought on, side by side with the knights. The courtyard was littered with bodies, both human and werewolf alike. I looked down at my own sword, covered in blood and gore, and felt a mix of disgust and pride.

Despite the danger and the fear, I was glad I had decided to help. The knights fought bravely, and I was proud to have been a part of their fight.

I saw the king fighting against a tall and muscular grizzly werewolf, and I froze in terror. This creature was wearing an armor suit made out of bones, and it looked absolutely terrifying. But my fear turned to determination when I saw that the werewolf leader was holding the Shadow Book. I knew that if he got away with it, my friends and I would be stuck in the past forever.

Without hesitation, I transformed into my werewolf form and ran towards the werewolf leader, sword in hand. I charged towards him, and he turned to face me, his eyes glowing with a fiery rage. I could feel his power and strength as we clashed our weapons together, the sound of metal ringing in my ears.

We fought fiercely, each blow striking with incredible force. I could see the anger in the werewolf leader's eyes, and I knew that he would stop at nothing to get the Shadow Book. But I was determined to stop him, no matter what it took.

As we continued to battle, I could feel the exhaustion setting in. My arms and legs felt heavy, and I was struggling to keep up with the werewolf leader's attacks. But I refused to give up, knowing that this was the only chance I had to save myself and my friends.

As I swung my sword at the werewolf leader, I felt a glimmer of hope. Maybe, just maybe, I could defeat him and take back the Shadow Book. But that hope was short-lived as the werewolf blocked my attack with ease. His strength was unmatched, and his armor made it difficult to land a hit.

In a swift movement, the werewolf disarmed me, and I fell to the ground. I tried to stand up, but he kicked me in the stomach, sending me flying several feet away. I hit the ground hard, and everything went black.

When I got up, I felt the silver sword piercing my chest, and pain shot through my body. I fell to the ground, and everything went blurry. I could barely see the werewolf leader, towering over me with a wicked smile on his face. I felt myself shifting back to my human form, and the pain only intensified.

He had the Shadow Book in his hand, and I knew I had failed. He had won, and I could feel my life slipping away. The werewolf leader ran off with his army, leaving the survivors behind. I struggled to stay conscious, but my vision was fading. I knew I was dying.

I heard Salina and Kevin calling out my name, but their voices were distant. The world around me was spinning, and I felt cold. The last thing I remembered was their faces, worried and scared, as I closed my eyes and let the darkness consume me.

*****

I opened my eyes and looked around, trying to figure out where I was. It was a chamber that looked like a medieval-style medical room. I was lying on a white bed, and my body ached all over. The room was dimly lit, and wounded men lay on beds all around me. Women dressed in long gowns were moving from bed to bed, caring for the injured men.

I slowly sat up, feeling a sharp pain in my head. I saw a woman in a white dress walking towards me. She had a kind face, and her hair was tied up in a bun.

"Ah, you're awake," she said in a soothing voice. "How are you feeling, child?"

"I...I don't know," I replied, still trying to process everything. "Where am I?"

"You're inside the castle," she said, placing a hand on my forehead. "The king's men brought you and your friends here. You were injured, and we've been caring for you."

I nodded slowly, trying to remember what happened. The last thing I remembered was fighting the werewolf leader and failing to stop him from taking the Shadow Book.

"Where are my friends?" I asked, feeling a wave of panic wash over me.

"They're resting in another chamber," the woman said with a reassuring smile. "They're safe, don't worry. Now, lie back down and rest. You need to regain your strength."

I nodded and lay back down on the bed. I closed my eyes, feeling exhaustion wash over me. The first day of arriving into the past had been overwhelming, and my body needed to rest. But my mind was still racing, thinking about the werewolf leader and the Shadow Book. I knew I had to find a way to stop him before it was too late.

Later, I got off bed, feeling refreshed after my rest. I asked the woman passing by to take me to my friends, and she led me through a corridor and into the next chamber. There, I found Kevin and Salina sitting on two beds, looking relieved that I was okay. I hugged them both, glad to see that they were safe as well.

"What happened?" I asked them, curious about what had happened after the battle.

"Nothing much," Kevin explained. "All the werewolves retreated. They only attacked the castle."

"Why?" I asked, my curiosity piqued.

Before Kevin could say anything, the king entered the room. He approached me and spoke, "Thank you for saving my life. My name is King Norton, ruler of Alnor. And I deeply apologized for sending you and your friends to the dungeon. It's difficult to trust witches and monsters here when darkness is around us."

I was surprised to learn that we were in Alnor, the same kingdom recorded in the history book at Dregan's castle. The king then invited us to join him for a meal. I heard my stomach growl in response to the offer, and I couldn't help but agree.

"Yeah... Totally," I said, feeling relieved that we were safe and that we had a chance to learn more about this kingdom.

*****

The food on the dining table was a feast for the eyes and the stomach. There were roasted chicken legs, beef steaks, mashed potatoes, and a variety of vegetables. The aroma of the food made my mouth water, and I couldn't wait to dig in. I took a chicken leg and bit into it, and the meat was so juicy and flavorful that it made me want more.

Kevin was eating a beef steak, and he nodded his head in approval as he savored the meat. Salina was eating a plate of mashed potatoes, and she closed her eyes as she took a bite, savoring the creamy texture. The king was eating with us, and he looked pleased to see us enjoying the food.

The dining hall was filled with the sound of clanking cutlery and happy conversation, and for a moment, I forgot that we were in a medieval kingdom in a dangerous time.

King Norton shared his concerns about Lord Dregan and how he plans to use the Shadow Book to take over his kingdom. I felt a sense of guilt as I knew that the Shadow Book was in Lord Dregan's possession, and it was all because of me.

"Jessica, I know it's a lot to ask for, but will you help me defeat Lord Dregan?" King Norton asked, looking at me with a hopeful expression.

I hesitated for a moment, not sure if I could handle another battle. But then I thought about how much was at stake. If we didn't stop Lord Dregan, his army would become unstoppable, and the kingdom of Alnor would fall.

I opened my mouth to answer, but Kevin shouted, "Can we speak in private while you wait please?"

King Norton nodded.

*****

We stepped into an empty chamber, and Kevin immediately spoke up. "Jessica, Salina, we can't just ignore what's happening here. We have to help King Norton and his people. If we don’t, we will never return home.”

"But we don't know anything about this place," Salina protested. "We could get ourselves killed trying to take on Lord Dregan."

I couldn't argue with Salina's logic, but I also couldn't shake the feeling that we had to do something. "I agree with Kevin," I said. “If Dregan uses the Shadow Book to conquer Alnor, he could change the future. England might become werewolf land.”

"But what if he uses the Shadow Book before he could stop him?" Salina said. "We have to think this through."

Kevin spoke up again. "Look, I know this is risky, but we can't just sit back and watch Lord Dregan destroy us all. We have to do something."

I thought about Kevin's words, and he was right. Alnor has to survive for the sake of protecting the future, and so do we.

"Okay," I said, finally making my decision. "Let's do this. Let's help King Norton and stop Lord Dregan."

Salina nodded hesitantly, but I could see the determination in Kevin's eyes. We had a mission, and we were going to see it through.

*****

We agreed to help King Norton, but we needed a plan. We didn't have any weapons or equipment to fight against Dregan's army. "Your majesty, do you have any weapons or equipment we could use?" Kevin asked the king.

King Norton smiled, "I have just the thing." He stood up and walked to a cabinet. He opened it and pulled out three bags. "These bags are filled with everything you need to defeat Lord Dregan's army."

Salina looked excitedly at the bags, "What's inside?"

"Armor, swords, and everything else you will need," King Norton explained.

We opened the bags and found everything we needed. The armor was made of metal and leather and fit us perfectly. The swords were long and sharp, and the shields were sturdy. We knew that with these weapons and armor, we had a chance to defeat Lord Dregan.

"Thank you, Your Majesty," I said, "but we still need a plan. How do we find Lord Dregan's castle?"

King Norton thought for a moment, "There's only one way to find Dregan's castle. You must travel through the Dark Forest. It's a dangerous place, but it's the only way."

The Dark Forest sounded spooky, but we were ready to face anything. We made a plan to leave at dawn and start our journey to find Lord Dregan's castle.

As we finished our meal and gathered our things, I couldn't help but feel nervous. We were about to face our greatest challenge yet, but I knew that with the right equipment and plan, we could do it.
