480 BC: The Battle of Thermopylae

King Leonidas stood at the front of the battlefield, with his 300 Spartans, waiting for the Persian Army to attack. The fellow Greeks had come to help, but once they saw the force of the Persian Army against their own, they fled, knowing that it would be a massacre. However, Leonidas and his Spartan warriors stood their ground, ready to die for Greece and Sparta.

Then he heard it. Booming footsteps of thousands of Persian warriors, marching across the battlefield to meet the Spartans. Leonidas began his speech.

"Today, we will make the Persians regret ever stepping foot onto our land! Today we will drench the gods in their blood! What say you Spartans!"

The Spartans yelled eagerly, ready to battle the Persians.

"Today we will fight for our sons! Our daughters! For SPARTA!" Leonidas yelled, charging into the incoming Persian Army, his 300 Spartans following right behind him. Leonidas thrust his spear, getting the first kill in what would be seven day battle.
