“Surr, why are you here?” Steve asks me, bewildered

“Why not? You know I’m just about involved in this like any of you here”

Displeased, Steve noticed that I’m with someone he knew very well “Kate, why are you here too?”

“My name is actually not Kate Captain Rogers” said Sharon calmly

“She is Sharon Carter, niece to Peggy Carter” Nat interjected

“Peggy’s niece? What?” Confused, Steve just observed Sharon

“My name is Sharon Carter, also known as Agent 13. I’m assigned to protect you by the director of SHIELD himself” Sharon explained

“What? So, you…”

 

“We can do all of this later, shall we?” I gestured with my hand and opened the gate with my super strength “After you”

 

“How do you know we’ll come here?” asked Nat

“Fury flash drive” I casually answer

Nat eyes bulged out “I knew SHIELD been compromised ever since Nick Fury visited me in the apartment” I added

“Fury visited you? When?” Steve asks

“When you’re out. The day before he was shot actually”

“What did he say?” Steve stares at me menacingly

“A few bits and bobs. But he wanted me to be an insurance, in case his next plan fails, in case you failed” I said to Steve

“I failed?” Steve scoffed “So you’re telling me, Nick Fury knew I would do something like this?”

“Like what?”

“Investigate. Trying to get to the bottom of this”

“Yup. And in case you failed, he wanted me to take action. Well, screw him. I’m going to do it my own way. Also, I wanted to help Captain America” I winked at Steve

 

“So, you know the general situation then?” Nat asks with raised eyebrow

“Hydra” as soon as I said that, Steve charges at me, holding me by the collar “You knew about it being Hydra and not telling me sooner? They’re Hydra Surr”

 

“So? What are you going to do even if you know about it?” I challenged Steve “Besides, we don’t know who’s who and what’s their plan”

 

“That’s…” Steve looks down “Let me down first, then I’ll explain”

 

I explained to the group what Nick Fury said to me that night, excluding somethings of course. Steve and Nat don’t have to know about my night life.

 

“Nick’s been holding this information this whole time huh…” Nat sigh with heartache

“Now, we need to find the hideout of old SHIELD in this old training ground. Where do you think it is Cap?” I ask Steve

 

Steve didn’t reply, he watches the camp, feeling nostalgic as the scene of his training still lingers in his mind “Pick up the pace Rogers” the drill instructor said to the limping Steve Rogers

 

“Steve?” I called out once again

 

Steve seemed to wake up from his stupor “Oh, uh… the bunker over there” he points at the out of place bunker “Army regulation prohibits storing munitions within 500 yards of the barracks. That building is in the wrong place”

 

“Nice” I gave a thumbs up

 

We then tried to get inside the building but it is locked, before Cap bash it with his shield.

 

Inside, we found an old office of SHIELD, with its logo plastered on the wall

 

“It’s SHIELD” said Nat

“Maybe where it is started” Steve said, watching the place earnestly

“So, my aunt used to work here?” ponders Sharon

We combed the room, finding a whole bunch of emptied room but a few pictures remained on the wall

 

“That’s Stark’s father”

“Howard” said Steve nostalgically. He then looks at the photograph besides it

“That’s Aunty Peggy when she’s young” admire Sharon, eyes glittering

 

Steve looks at Sharon then to the picture of Peggy Carter for awhile before he left somewhere else

 

“Hmm” I hum “This one’s suspicious” I observed the bookshelf in front of me before Steve pried it off “If you’re already working at a secret office” prying it open completely “Why do you need to hide the elevator?”

 

Nat took out some techie gizmo and lit up the security lock for access code before puncturing the number. The elevator trip underground took a long time before it’s opened, showing us what’s down there.

 

A massive array of cabinet alongside a massive computer in the center greets us.

 

“Old techs” utters Sharon

“Seemed ancient” joke Nat

Steve looks around the room before noticing a modern USB port “That’s not”

“Huh, you’re right” I chimed in

 

Nat inserts the USB

 

“Nothing happens” I mention before I had to close my mouth. All the lights turn on and the machinery gears deployed, grinding against one another before the screen in front of us “I stand corrected”

 

“Initiate System?” the words come out from the screen.

Nat bended down, typing at the keyboard “Yes”

 

The screen flickered, then a face popped up on the screen before it spoke

“Rogers, Steven. Born 1918”

“Romanoff, Natalia Alianovna. Born 1984”

“Carter, Sharon. Born 1988”

The camera then points at me “Unknown individual. Who are you?”

“Me?” I point at myself, smiling

“Is this some kind of recording?” Sharon asks

“I’m not a recording cretin. I may not be the man I was when Captain America took me prisoner in 1945 but I am alive”

“You know this thing?” Nat asks Steve who’s looking like he’s just seen a ghost

“Arnim Zola was a German Scientist who worked for the Red Skull…”

 

“Chop-chop” I clapped my hands “Enough banter” I approach the USB port and inserted my own “Don’t think I don’t know what you’re doing” I said to the computer “You’re stalling, am I right?”

 

“Hmm, soon this place will be blown to smithereens alongside all of you in it”

“I don’t think so. See, Nick Fury came to me the other day. He has suspicion that there’s an internal factor that he didn’t see but now I know” I shrug my shoulder “Good thing I’m prepared”

 

“Prepared, what?”

“Just like you, I’m stalling too. Unlike you however, my goal is complete”

 

I press the button on my own USB Drive “Hit it Jarvis”

“As you wish, sir” a robotic voice, different from Zola replied

“What… What are you doing?” said Zola, panicked

“Extracting all the information from you” I snickered at him

 

“What the…” Steve and the others looked at me confused

“I’ll explain later” I extended my hand and chanted “Light, create a dome and protects us” A dome of light beginning to formed before expanding wide enough, covering the entirety of Camp Lehigh.

 

*BOOM* *BOOM*

 

I grit my teeth “As expected, enduring a missile is like getting a hit from a minotaur x10”

“What’s all this Surr? What are you doing?” Steve asks me, a mixture between confused, worry and anger form on his face.

 

*BOOM *BOOM*

 

I groaned “Later…” I look back at Jarvis “Is it done?”

“Just a few minutes more, sir”

“Hurry it up” I concentrate again to my shield

 

Steve just looked at me, dumbfounded. Sharon then explained “Surr has powers. He never showed it because he didn’t want to be used. At least, that’s what he told me”

 

Nat nodded in understanding “So, what now?”

“The plan is always to extract whatever that was here and leave to a safe place” Sharon explains

“I know a place” Steve said

 

*BOOM* *BOOM* *BOOM*

 

“Jarvis?”

“Done”

“Quick Nat, take the drive. We need to leave” I said, before folding my hands and chanted “Light, blind the enemies that meant to harm us”

 

Outside, the massive dome of light turned brighter and brighter before it exploded. The explosion is so bright that everybody around and the sensor from the SHIELD satellite are blinded.

 

I panted hard and said to Steve “You’ll have to carry me from now” before I fainted
