Have been sitting here for about 10 minutes, wanting to give at least some kind of supporting advice/affirmation. Only to realize I am still beyond amateur writer. So take everything with a grain of salt.
I am not sure I understand exactly what you are planning to do, but I know it is important to find out what works for you.
I'm also fairly sure they shade, before coloring . Creating some depth to the drawing.
I'm also sure you need muscles and a bit of cartilage to stabilize the bones. I would compare coloring more to "applying the skin" (making a tight fit). And sometimes muscle help shape the bones.
What I'm trying to say, is that I could see myself loose some parts or depth with this approach. But maybe it is what works for you, and I'm just playing the devil's advocate for no reason.
Try it out, and see if it's for you. I know journal style stories exist. I am curious about your approach and look forward to it.
Also, the premise is vaguely similar to something I'm working on. But I'm still world-building; Magic, reincarnations but no system.
Ok, well thank you for paying any sort of attention. And I must say, no need to humble yourself, I have a pattern of starting a story, then writing a few chapters, and then leaving it for months. I thank you for your input for my analogy.
I agree that I could and most likely will lose some (if not a lot of) depth. I also agree that I have no idea where this is going. This started off as a way to see if people would see my story at all, and I am glad to see the original gor 1500 views, but I also have no plan or path for this story.
I also was experimenting to see if I could write something from the beginning without a plan or plot. To test my improv. I think this story sucks, and that by the end even with the skin it will need to be caked with makeup.
I only continued the story to 1. Continue the experiment, and 2. to not feel guilty about getting 40 readers that will never have their story updated. Perhaps it would be better for it to not be updated, and not mangle the corpse. But, I still have an experiment to continue.
Tl:dr I think the story sucks and I agree with you.
I think I might do this kinda journal style writing, get the story done, and then add the flesh to the bones. I know it's not going to be nearly as good as otherwise for a while, but I think this will make for a good story if I do that. When drawing you first do the outlines, then you color. Correct? I'll take the same approach.

I forgot to add "Good job on starting a story! You might have gained a reader."
