This chapter is short as its a prologue, the latter ones would be longer

‘What exactly is conflict?’ He wondered as he followed the last glimmers of sunlight fading away from his eyes.

‘To properly live like a human, one must first understand the working’s of a human heart. But a man like me never wondered about that.’

‘What an odd thing, a human heart is.’

Pebbles showered in front of his face.

‘So Dark.’

‘Light, To think I never appreciated its beauty until this moment.’

Under intense pressure, his bones shattered.

‘Thinking back, I never fulfilled my promises, ’

‘I never did get to eat that cake.’

‘Never did get to feel the warmth of a women’s body.’

‘Oh Yeah, I always wished to learn how to cook, yeah guess that’s not happening now, ’

‘I am going to die anyway, so lets think about anything cheerful.’

His facial muscles started to get crushed in the rumble.

‘I won a lot of trophies, ’

‘and friends, those bastards must live happily now, ’

‘I received a wedding invitation from one of them. Should have accepted that and gone there, then maybe I could have seen their face one last time, ’

‘I could not even be a decent friend. What a life I lived.’

‘No, no good things, think about good things.’

‘They would remember my name throughout history.’

‘And I saved many people’

‘Children would grow up listening to my life tales,’

‘At least it seems my life was not utterly meaningless.’

‘Even when I think back on my life, I feel nothing. Guess I should have lived a bit more..’

‘……..at least now I get to rest…. forever…’

The stones rumbled.

On the verge of unconsciousness, he heard a series of footsteps.

“Hurry, there’s a survivor over here.”

From underneath a pile of stones, they picked up a body that was scarcely clinging to life.

Many men gathered and carried the body delicately to their camp.

“How’s he?” A man asked as he rushed inside the camp.

The older man who examined the body shook his head.

“The pressure fractured his right leg’s lower limb. His left leg, however, turned into dust. Half of his facial bones crushed. Along with major damage to the spine. He won’t survive for long.”

The doctor quivered, his eyes got watery, “I am sorry,” “I am so sorry.”

The man’s pupils dilated. He fell on his knees. “How can that be?”

“To think such a tragedy would befall today!” The man cried in remorse.
