The Man in White

After hearing his name being called out, he was momentarily dumbfounded.

Shit!

He was already wrapped like a mummy yet someone still recognized him!

Highly impressed, he turned around and saw a tall man dressed in casual white clothes staring fixedly at him from across the street.

He was about twenty-seven with a polite-looking face and had an air of elegance around him. His soft brown-black hair was lightly curled. The corners of his lips were slightly curved upward. His smile was refreshing like the spring breeze. Last but not least, his eyes were long and narrow yet they made him look somewhat wickedly charming. It was hard to discern whether he seemed like a good or bad person.

Who was this man?

Mu Yifan’s eyes flashed with doubt.

According to this body’s memories, he had never seen him before but there was this strong feeling of wanting to familiarize himself with him.

The man in white crossed the street and walked up to Mu Yifan. Displeased, he narrowed his eyes: “Why is your face wrapped up?”

Mu Yifan instinctively answered him: “It’s because of drug allergy. I’m afraid that it’ll scare away people so I had to bandage it.”

The man in white didn’t suspect him. He raised his hand and caressed the gauze on his face. He then grabbed Mu Yifan’s arm and dragged him to sit beside the villa gate. His other hand unhesitatingly touched Mu Yifan’s swollen right leg.

Mu Yifan looked down at that hand on his leg. His vision suddenly sharpened.

This man’s nails were dark black, meaning that he was already a full-fledged zombie.

He couldn’t help but hold his breath. He shifted his gaze to the man’s face and noticed that it was very pale. Faint redness appeared in his limbal rings, making his eyes look even more wickedly charming.

Just who exactly was he?

The apocalypse hadn’t arrived yet but here in the flesh was a conscious full-fledged zombie.

The man in white raised his head and asked: “It’s cancer, isn’t it?”

Mu Yifan quickly put aside his thoughts and nodded.

The man in white took out Mu Yifan’s left hand from his pocket and turned it over. The grey-black nails were exposed in front of him.

He was slightly surprised. The man rubbed his thumb over a nail and murmured, “It’s only the beginning of April yet it’s now grey-black.”

Mu Yifan looked at the man’s black nails and responded: “My family doctor said that the reason why my nails turned to this color was due to my cancer advancing to the late stage. I see that your nails are black. Does that mean you have cancer too?”

Of course, he made all these up. He just wanted to get more information out of the man.

After hearing him speak, the man unhappily released his hand: “Your family doctor is Li Qingtian?”

“Yeah.”

“You think what he says is credible?” The man in white coldly smirked and stared into Mu Yifan’s eyes beyond the gauze. He suddenly narrowed his eyes again: “You seem different than before.”
