Announcement
This will be the last update for at least a week and possibly the foreseeable future. First of all, I will be taking a break to study for finals and prep for my tests. Secondly, I want to make something people will enjoy, so I may discontinue this series entirely. I will not stop writing though. If this format of storytelling is working, I will try something else. To be completely honest, I'm worried I'm giving up on this project too soon(although I haven't decided yet) on the other hand, this story just doesn't seem to be one people are interested in. Although my focus will be on finals,  I hope to use this upcoming week to reflect on myself and my writing. I hope everyone who sees this has a great day and a great life. Hats off to you for moving forward everyday!

Neither Fuzen nor Yuki could quite figure out who, what, or why his third protection came about. However, soon they were distracted by a knock on the front door. They both nearly jumped out of their skin before they realized what time it was. Aiko was already back from school, Fuzen shook his head. He could never figure out why she knocked on the door, she would always let herself in soon after anyways. It wasn't like she didn't have a key. Fuzen headed back to his room, he did promise to change the way he went about their relationship, but he wouldn't change overnight, nor did he feel the need to act differently and hover around her in this way.

"What happened to treating your family well?" Asked Yuki. Fuzen let out a groan and responded,

"Treating someone better and being around them are different things."

No sooner did he lay down on his bed did Aiko knock on his door.

"What?"

"Ueda-sensei sent papers home for you." Fuzen cocked his eyebrow. 'They having a fieldtrip or something?'

"I gave you a signature to forge, sign whatever ya' want." Fuzen replied lazily.

"It doesn't need a signature," Aiko spoke softly, "Ueda-sensei said you needed to look over the papers in this package." Fuzen let out a long turbid breath, it seemed like this wouldn't be solved with words alone. He crawled out of bed and opened his door. He glanced at Aiko for a moment before he took the package and shut the door. He looked at the words written on the large yellow envelope. 'Who writes 'good luck' like this?' Fuzen wondered if this teacher wasn't trying to get back at him with mountains of paperwork. However, she shouldn't have the authority to target him like this, should she?

Fuzen opened the package and looked through the papers within. There were worksheets for the third grade of secondary school and college prep work.

"What the hell," Fuzen glanced over to his door as if he could see through it, "How smart is that little girl?" However, his confusion was soon settled by a quick smack to the head. Fuzen angrily through his gaze to Yuki and said,

"Don't get smart with me little thing! Just because we had a heart-to-heart doesn't mean I won't be you silly." Yuki crossed its arms and said simply,

"Its not my fault you're stupid. Those papers are obviously for you." Fuzen gave a nasty look as he replied,

"What the hell would I need these for? Even if I wanted to go, I don't have that kinda of money." Yuki gave him the stink eye and said,

"Whose fault is that?" Fuzen's eye twitched and he said grumpily,

"Don't test me you little sprite." Yuki cast a cursory glance towards Fuzen's door and gave a low laugh while saying,

"Hehe, like brother like sister, one stops drinking and the other one starts." It should be said that Yuki can see through walls in the house, knowing this, Fuzen dropped his grumpy attitude and rushed to the kitchen, he made it in time to see Aiko pouring herself a cup of Sake. Fuzen smiled devislishly, he spoke in a low and soft voice which caused Aiko to jump.

"Trying to steal your brother's liquors eh? Here let me pour it for you." Aiko looked shocked and stumbled over her words, but before she could say anything solid, Fuzen grabbed the bottle and started pouring it into her cup. Or at least he tried, although he was mostly feeling better at the time, he was still a little shaky and the alcohol went about everywhere, but the cup. However, Fuzen was unfazed, he eyes just stared at Aiko waiting for her to say something. Fuzen had poured half the bottle on the countertop before she found her courage,

"Brother, um, you're missing the cup..." Fuzen smiled brightly and for a moment, Aiko's eyes shined, but Fuzen soon spoke.

"Yeah, when you drink you can't quite control yourself anymore. Sometimes it's hard to pour or walk or even think." he placed the bottle down and continued, "If you try drinking to stop the oni come for you and snakes slither in your skin. You feel like you'll die of thirst and die of hunger at the same time. Do you wanna try?" Aiko was making herself small and shook her head while making a small squeak. Fuzen shook his head and waved her off.

"Shoo then..." Aiko got up and walked to her room. Fuzen leaned back and sighed, he took the last of the Sake and poured it out, however that didn't stop his thoughts from whirling and with nothing to do, his head became far more painful than those withdrawal symptoms he had just suffered, or maybe that was just in his head. He sighed and spoke softly,

"I'd really like some Sake..." Yuki goggled next to his ear and said softy,

"The drink some." Fuzen's eyebrows arched, and he said with some annoyance,

"You know I can't." Yuki flew a couple of circles around him and said mischieviously,

"You could if you drank a Shoju's liquor." Fuzen eyebrows shot up, and he looked a Yuki with interest. Yuki continued,

"It's an alcohol spirit, its furry and in the spirit community, its said that a sip of its liquor will put you in a stupor, but if you drink the whole jug, you drink without a worry for the rest of your life." Fuzen looked intrigued, but still worried he said cautiously,

"Drinking the whole bottle won't make me stupid, will it? I don't know a lot about the spirits, but from the stories that people pass down, that doesn't necessarily mean what I hope it means." Yuki laughed loudly and comforted,

"Don't worry, the Shoju is a very weak spirit and couldn't ruin someone so easily." Fuzen nodded convincedly and asked,

"Ok, how do we get this Shoju Sake?" Yuki smiled mischievously and said, we have to go to the coast, but the trip will be worth it."Fuzen nodded and looked towards Aiko's door.

"I'll get someone to take care of her while we're gone, I halfta send her to someone's house, just not too sure whose yet."
