{ An hour later}

[A loud thump came from the roof.]

 

Kato: -he gave out a small yelp before Ami covered his mouth with her hand-

 

Ami: -she gripped her pocket knife and handed Kato her spear- sh.

 

[A portal formed next to the couches, and a girl the size of a 10 year old jumped out. She was covered in tufts of feathers.] “That’ll teach ‘em!”

 

Ami: .. -she’d stay quiet hoping the girl would leave her hand still over Kato’s mouth-

 

???: [She spit out feathers, then looked around.] “She better not be pulling a prank on meeee…”

 

Kato: -his eyes were fixated on the girl but he stayed quiet, clutching Ami’s spear in one hand and their dad’s letter in the other-

 

[She eventually approached the bedroom, about to peek inside.]

 

Ami: -she took her hand off Kato’s mouth jumping forward. She slammed the bedroom door shut locking it, knowing the girl could teleport she stayed ready nodding to Kato-

 

Kato: -he looked less-scared still holding the letter and spear close-

 

???: “Owwieeee- Wait- [She looked proud of herself.] “I found them!!” [She knocked on the door, not knowing what to do.] “Can I come innn?”

 

Ami: -she’d called though the door- No. Sorry we're busy come back later. I'm sure we can talk then.

 

???: [She blinked.] “Oki-Doki!” [She sat down.] “Wait- I can’t sit! I need to find those humans.” [She walked over to the couch.] “HEEEY, IS THERE ANY HUUUMANS IN HERE? I NEED TO TAKE YOU GUYS SO MISS LADY WILL BE HAPPYYY” [She screeched.]

 

Ami: No humans sorry try the next house over I think I saw some over there. 

 

???: “Wait, what did she say- oh right! THE CODE IS PALETTEEEE!” [She screeched once more.]

 

Kato: -his eyes darted to Ami- that means-

 

Ami: -she shook her head- no. I’m not going off with some little kid.

 

Kato: But-

 

Ami: -she groaned and slightly opened the door- Where do you expect to take u- me? And who is Miss.. Lady -she cringed at the name-

 

???: “To my house, of course! Miss Lady can’t hold them off forever, y’know.” [She looked extremely proud.] “Wait, you dunno Miss Lady?”

 

Ami: -she wasn’t showing any part of herself- No. I don’t. Can’t hold who off..? 

 

???: “Silly you! We’re in her house! Miss Lady is holding back the Fallen Angels for the humans. I need to take the humans so that she doesn’t burn off all her energy.”

 

Ami: -her eyes widened as she muttered- Lyra..

 

???: “Say, you don’t happen to be the one and only humans, do you?”

 

Ami: -she looked at Kato- No. I’m not. -she opened the door all the way keeping her knife hidden-

 

???: “Really? Can I see?” [She eagerly went to the bedroom.]

 

Kato: -he nodded- hi.

 

???: [She waved wildly.] “HI!!” [In an instant, she was right next to Kato, checking out his appearance.] “Wow, are you sure you’re not a human? You sure smell like one.”

 

Kato: I am. What are you? -he was clutching the letter close-

 

???: “WOW! I’ve never actually interacted with a human before. So cool! You smell just like everyone else says.” [She purposefully didn’t answer his question.]

 

Kato: Thanks.. I think.. What are you again..? Are you a ghost like Lyra?

 

Ami: -she stood silently in the corner leaning against the wall-

 

???: [She looked around the room.] “Miss Lady never actually let me see this room- WOAH! Another human!!” [She hugged Ami.] “I’m the luckiest person in the UNIVERSE!”

 

Ami: -Without any effort she pushed the small eager person away from her- I don’t do- whatever you were doing.

 

???: [She got up.] “Sorry, sorry! Anyways, let’s go!” [She drew a symbol on the wall, creating a portal.] “Come, come!”

 

Kato: -he looked at Ami-

 

Ami: -she nodded-

 

Kato: -he walked into the portal-

 

Ami: -she stood in the corner still-

 

[A fallen angel broke through the house, looking at the girl.] “HALT!”

 

Ami: -she held her knife now on guard-

 

???: “You again! I told you that you lost.” [She looked around, not spotting Ami.] “Ready for round two?”

 

Ami: -she hoped she would go unnoticed willing to jump in if needed she was a swift mover and was ready for anything-

 

Ami’s POV: If I had my gun.

 

???: [She shifted her arm into a blinding light, leaping at the fallen angel and tackling it.]

 

Ami: -she closed her eyes from the light-

 

[A powerful blast of energy knocked Ami into the portal. Meanwhile, the girl finished beating the fallen angel up and hopped inside the portal as well.]

 

Ami: -she sighed knowing she wouldn’t have a chance to fight-

 

[They were inside a gray and orange home. The girl lifted both Kato and Ami up, then put them on a couch.] 

 

???: “Oki-Doki!” [She put a carefully extracted wing on her counter, then went back to Kato and Ami.] “Are you guys good?”

 

Kato: Yeah..

 

Ami: -she stayed silent her eyes were still closed-

 

???: “Let’s introduce ourselves while we wait for Miss Lady!” [She cleared her throat.] “Soo, I’m Jeckle! Who are you guys?”

 

Kato: I’m Kato. K-a-t-o. -he was looking at the letter still debating if he should open it-

 

Ami: -she stayed quiet her eyes were closed-

 

Jeckle: [She tapped Ami] “Introduce yourself, silly! Also, you can open your eyes!”

 

Ami: I’m Ami. -She opened her left eye- 

 

Jeckle: “What’s it like being a huma-” 

 

[She was interrupted by Lyra coming through a portal, covered in white and blue feathers.] 

 

Jeckle: “Miss Lady’s back!!” [She danced around Lyra.]

 

Ami’s POV: Why do we always end up with the stupid ones?

 

Kato: Hey Lyra.

 

Lyra: [She spat out feathers.] “Hi! Sorry I left you guys alone. Are you okay?”

 

Kato: yeah.

 

Ami: -She had both eyes closed again, she looked exhausted-

 

Jeckle: “The humans need sleep!”

 

Lyra: “Yeah, and me for once. Do you mind showing us the bedrooms, Jeckle?”

 

Jeckle: “Sure! This-a-way!” [She skipped to two gray rooms. One had a king bed, and the other had a bunk bed with a slide.] “Take your pick!”

 

Kato: -he looked at Lyra- which do you want? -he said it sarcastically-

 

Ami: -she stood up walking over to Kato-

 

Lyra: [She chuckled.] “I’ll go into the first room.” [She walked into the room with the king bed and immediately started showering to get the feathers off of her.]

 

Jeckle: “I’ll be downstairs if anyone needs me!” [She skipped downstairs.]

 

Kato: -he’d walk into the bunk bed bedroom and would plop down on the bottom bunk-

 

Ami: -She’d lean against the door frame closing her eyes-

 

Kato: So. How was your birthday?

 

Ami: -she stayed silent know Kato wasn’t talking to her-

{ Sun goes down, It’s 11 PM }

 

Ami: -she was sitting on one of the bunkbeds, she hadn't slept in a week-

 

[Crying and sniffling would be heard from downstairs.]

 

Kato: -he was up- Ami? You hear that?

 

Ami: Yeah.

 

Kato: Imma go check it out.

 

Ami: Alright.

 

*Kato got up and went downstairs*

 

Kato: H-hello?

 

[A worried Jeckle was hugging Lyra, who had tears streaming down her face. She looked horrified. They both didn’t seem to notice him.]

 

Kato’s POV: Lyra..

 

Kato: -he decided to be quiet- ..

 

Jeckle: “It’s okay...the vision will pass. Who you were in your life doesn’t mean that’s who you are in your afterlife. You’re a completely different person now. Don’t let your past change that.”

 

Kato: -He stood there not understanding what was going on-

 

Jeckle: [She spotted Kato, running up to him and covering his eyes.] “AUGH- HII KATO! WHY ARE YOU UP SO LATEEE? GOTOBEDPLEASE-” [She steered him to his room, hastily tucking them both in the bunk beds, turning off the light, and closing the door.] “GOODNIGHT!!” [She quickly locked the door and ran back to Lyra.]

 

Kato: Uh-

 

Ami: -she sat up- so.. You check it out? 

 

Kato: Yeah until.. You know- that happened-

 

Ami: Yep.. -she fiddled with her pocket knife-

 

Kato: I think.. I’m going to read the letter..

 

Ami: Ok..

 

Kato: -he opened the letter bracing for what he may read- ..

 

Ami: -She felt claustrophobic being locked in a room so she began look for something in the room to cut with her pocket knife- 

 

Kato: -he began to read the letter silently his eyes followed the words before they filled with tears-

 

Ami: -she found a book, threw it in the air and threw her knife at it, missing by a long shot- oh jeez. Still not used to seeing..

 

Ami: -she picked the book and her knife up and closed her eyes, exhaling, she threw the book in the air and threw her knife-

 

*The knife slid through the book and made the book and the knife stick in the wall*

 

Ami: -she opened her eyes- Yes! -she punched the air then remembered how late it was- oh crap-

 

Kato: -he looked at Ami- Sh! You don’t want people coming up here.

 

Ami: -she’d whisper- yeah yeah, I’m sorry. -she looked at her cracked phone- It’s around 12:30. -she exhaled- finally its not my birthday.

 

Kato: -he’d smile slightly- yeah. But you are 14 now. I don’t think laws change for you yet.. -he’d think about it then shrugged- I don’t know though-

 

Ami: -she shrugged- I don’t really follow the law anyway.

 

Kato: -he nodded, and finished the letter putting it away- yeah. -he chuckled-

 

Kato: -he looked at Ami- I know you don’t like this… But.. I got you a present. -he took off a bag he had on-

 

Ami: Kato-

 

Kato: -he interrupted her- I know but I think you want it. -he took a skinny, small, box out of his bag and handed it Ami-

 

Ami: -she looked at Kato-

 

Ami: -she opened the box to reveal a black handgun- 

 

Kato: I thought you might want a better one. -he smiled-

 

Ami: -she loaded the gun- You said Lyra and the other one are up-?

 

Kato: yes- -his eyes widened- WAIT!

 

Ami: -she smiled and grabbed another book and threw it up with her eyes closed shooting the gun,- Bang!  -it let out a ring. The gunshot echoed throughout the house. Kato screamed as covered his ears, the gun shot making him think Ami was going to get in trouble. When the echo ceiced, Ami opened her eyes smiling and saw she hit the book's spine. She puts the gun in her ankle holster sitting on the bed throwing the book away-

 

Kato: -he groaned- you're going to die.

 

Ami: -she took her gun out of her holster smirking- Well then I’ll die happily- 

{ In the morning, 9:00 AM }

Jeckle: “It’s 9:00! YES!” [She ran upstairs, screeching madly.] “WEEEEEWOOOOO! WAKIE WAKIE EVERYONE! TIME TO START THIS WONDERFUL DAY! WEEEEEOOOOOO! WEEEEEWOOOOO…”

 

Lyra: [She came out of her room, rubbing her eyes and smiling.] “Ah...Good morning, Jeckle! How are you?”

 

Jeckle: [She stopped screeching.] “I’m doing amazing, thank you very much! I was just enjoying my morning screech!” [She continued screeching.]

 

Kato: -you could hear him groaning- be quiettt

 

Ami: -she was groaning as well- shut uppp

 

Lyra: [She stuffed a pancake in Jeckle's mouth, laughing.] "Jeckle, we're not the only ones here!" 

 

Jeckle: [She devoured the pancake.] “Oh, right! I’m gonna eat some food now.” 

 

{ With the Others }

 

Core: *vibing to “Swing It”*

 

Ace: -he was singing in a room by himself. The room’s walls were cracked and there was a race car bed on the left side of the room. There were posters of games and the window was broken whoever left, left in a hurry-

 

*Dust Teleported into the room*

 

Ace: -he didn’t notice Dust he was murmuring- Hate is coming -over and over again- 

 

Dust: -she sat down by Ace and put her hand on his back- hey..

 

Ace: -he quickly stopped talking about Hate- hi..

 

Dust: -she smiled and continued rubbing his back- you ok?

 

Ace: -he nodded- yeah.. Just worried -he chuckled-

 

Dust: -she nodded and looked around- where are we?

 

Ace: away..

 

Dust: -she cocked her head- away from what?

 

Ace: Hate.

 

Dust: what about him..?

 

Ace: He’s coming.. We're going to die. 

 

Dust: -fear and worry struck her hard- What do you mean..?

 

Ace: NM was looking through pictures and.. We saw him in one.. He knows where we are, he knows,.. -he’d look up at Dust- he knows where you are..

 

Dust: -she was startled by the comment but kept calm- Whats so important about me?

 

Ace: -he looked into Dust’s eyes- your my best friend. I can’t afford to lose you..

 

Dust: -she took his hand- Then I won’t get lost -she smiled-

 

Ace: -he nodded- I think.. I think I'm ready to go back now.

 

Dust: -She took Ace’s other hand- ok -she teleported them back to everyone else-  

 

Dust: Hi King! -she forgot she was holding Ace’s hands-

 

Ace: -he looked at his hands in hers- erm.. -he let go of her hands and blushed for only a moment- 

 

Dust: -She looked at her now empty hands and quickly put them to her side- right.. -she walked over to King and kissed his cheek- 

 

Ace: -he stood uncomfortably for a moment before pulling out headphones and climbing into a tall tree-

 

King: -he shifted uncomfortably at the sight of Dust and Ace holding hands but accepted the smol kiss-

{In the Ghost Realm}

 

Kato: -he came into the room, he looked hyped- Hey guys! -he was grinning-

 

Ami: -she came into the room holding her gun casually in her hand she looked tired but she looked somewhat happy as well which was rare- Hey!

 

-the two children looked a mess because of the years they spent trying to live, their clothes were both ripped, and their hair was extremely matted. A few years ago Ami had found scissors and cut off a good 8 inches off her hair- 

 

Kato: -he was still smiling and he sat by Ami- how did you two sleep? -he gestured to Lyra and Jeckle-

 

Jeckle: [She looked at Lyra.] “WHY DO THESE HUMANS LOOK LIKE THEY’VE BEEN PULLED THROUGH A THORN BUSH?” 

 

Lyra: “Volume, Jeckle- Also, I don’t exactly need to shower, so I don’t have one- haha-”

 

Kato: -he’d raise his hand- I have been pulled through a thorn bush- 

 

Jeckle: “EXACTLY MY POINT!”

 

Ami: -she’d laugh- yeah that was my fault

 

Jeckle: [She scoffed.] “Wellllll, I have a shower, because I have hygiene! The humans can shower here!” 

 

Lyra: “Exuseeee me! I don’t need hygiene!”

 

Ami: -she took out her phone and earbuds and played music for herself as she always did when someone fought- 

 

Jeckle: [She somehow picked both Ami and Kato up and put them both in chairs.] “Behold! BAGELS!” >:D

 

Kato: Bagels..? 

 

Jeckle: “Try it, try it! They’re the best breakfast item EVER!”

 

Kato: -he picked one up and bit into it, as he did his eyes light up- mmm~!

 

Jeckle: [She looked at Ami expectantly.] :3

 

Ami: -she hadn’t notice the food, let alone that she had been moved. She still had earbuds on and she was messing with her gun-

 

Jeckle: [She took off one of Ami’s earbuds.] “Helloooooooo?”

 

Ami: -she instinctively cocked her gun and pointed it at Jeckle, startled- 

 

Lyra: [She pushed down Ami’s gun.] “L-let’s leave weapons out of this!”

 

Ami: -she shrugged- sorry instinct. -she put her gun in her holster-

 

Lyra: “Let’s eat breakfast, then you two can go shower!”

 

Kato: -he had finished his food and was now taking Ami’s bagel- nom

 

Lyra: “Wow-”

 

Jeckle: “PPPPPPANCAKES!” [She put a plate of Pancakes in front of Ami.]

 

Ami: -she pushed the plate in between her and Kato-

 

Kato: -he ate half the pancakes quickly- nom 

 

Ami: -she ate one pancake and pushed the plate over to Kato, putting her earbud back in-

 

Jeckle: “Not hungry, human? That’s okay! You can eat it later!!” [She pushed Kato over to the showers.] “I heard humans don’t like taking their clothes off in public so- uh, you can do it in the shower room!”

 

Kato: -he nodded going into the shower room-

 

Ami: -she pulled out her phone and began humming to a song-

 

Lyra: “Ami, after Kato’s done, It’ll be your turn!”

 

Ami: -she rolled her eyes- whoopie

 

Jeckle: “You wanna help me with human clothing for Kato? It’ll be fun!!”

 

Ami: -she had her headphones in and she was still looking at her phone her hum turned into mumbled words- Sometimes moms and dads fall out of love. -her voice was soft but matched the song perfectly and her voice was quiet but you could hear it- Sometimes two homes are better than one… -her voice trailed off, she hadn’t known anyone was there-

 

Jeckle: [She didn’t seem to notice.] “Whaddya say, Ami?”

 

Ami: -she didn’t know what Jeckle had said before but she knew she had asked a question- uh, sure.. -she began humming without noticing-

 

Jeckle: “GREAT!” [She pulled Ami with her to a closet. There were three pairs of clothes: One was a green hoodie with tan shorts, The other was a floral shirt with red pants, and the last one was a T-shirt with yellow shorts.] “Which one do you think Kato would like?” [She looked at Ami eagerly.]

 

Ami: -she pointed to the one with a green hoodie- he’d like that.

 

Jeckle: “Forrrr yourself or for Kato?” 

 

Ami: Kato- 

 

Jeckle: “Oki-doki! I got some clothes for you, too!” [She pointed to four pairs of clothing; they were mostly all purple and blue.] 

 

Ami: -she looked uncertainly at the clothing- erm..

 

Jeckle: [She picked up Kato’s pair of clothing and left the room. She then quickly slid Kato’s clothes in the bathroom, making sure they didn’t get wet. Then she went back to Lyra, and ate another pancake.] 

 

Ami: -she eventually abandoned the clothes and walked into a different room without turning on the light she sat the corner,  played music in her earbuds, promptly fell asleep-

 

Kato: -he walked into the room with Lyra and Jeckle wearing the hoodie and pants Ami picked out, his hair was wet and covering his eyes- Hey! -he slid his hair back with his fingers- I finished showering! -he looked around the room- where’s Ami?

 

Jeckle: “I dunno! On a side note, I like pancakes.” [She happily munch on more pancakes.]

 

Lyra: “Ah, hello Kato! Remind me to do your hair later.”

 

Kato: -he shrugged- ok

 

*Just then there was a gunshot in a different room*
