*Fred*

"F-Fred...?"

I looked down at the girl in my arms. Daisy was wakening. I was carrying her up to Gryffindor Tower, George and Terry on either side of me. My knuckles throbbed, but I ignored them as I focused on Daisy's emerald eyes, fluttering open slowly.

"Yeah, Daisy?" I said softly. This was the first time we'd used each other's actual names in a while. "Everything's fine. Just relax."

Anger was still pulsing through me, but I'd gotten most of it out of me by beating up Floppy. That little fucking shit. I'd kill him if I could.

"He - he -"

"Relax." I told her firmly. "You're okay. Don't strain yourself."

"He told me - he's not going to stop until he -"

Daisy's eyes fluttered closed again. I sighed.

"What's she saying?" George asked, his eyebrows furrowing.

"I dunno -"

"Let's let her wake up in a classroom, eh?" Terry said suddenly, his eyes on the Fat Lady - or rather, what was coming from behind her. People were climbing through the portrait hole, and a loud, raucous din of voices and music came from it. Of course. The common room was full, and parties are not the best places for a Stunned person to recover.

George held open the door to the nearest classroom, and I slipped in. My clan mates followed, and I laid Daisy down on the teacher's desk. She murmured, stirring, and her eyes opened again.

"Floppy - he -"

"We know, Softpaw." I said soothingly, taking one of her hands. My skin lit up where hers touched mine. "He's not -"

"Red, you don't understand." Daisy sat up, struggling, and George placed a hand on her back to help her. "Floppy said he wanted to kidnap me for You-Know-Poo - he said he won't stop until he does. He said he has to do it soon."

"What a load of nonsense." I scoffed. "Tell him he'll get my entire foot up his unwashed ass if he tries to scare you like that again."

Daisy looked me in the eye. "Red... he's not joking around. He meant it. He really meant it."

I swallowed, hard. "Well... he's not going to take you anywhere while we're around, Softpaw. While I'M around."

And to Daisy's command, taking George's idea, an hour later, we'd located Floppy and the Three Douchebags again and tied them by their ankles from the Astronomy Tower balcony.

"Not so full of yourself now, are you, Floppy?" Daisy cackled as Floppy swung in the vicious winds, yelling. Daisy and I high-fived.

*Daisy*

The mood in the castle as we entered June became excited and tense again. Everyone was looking forward to the third task, which would take place a week before the end of term. Harry and I were practising hexes in every available moment. I felt more confident about this task than either of the others. Difficult and dangerous though it would undoubtedly be, I had managed to find my way past monstrous creatures and enchanted barriers before now, and if it came to the worst, I could use my angel powers. I pushed all thoughts and fears about Floppy out of my head, reassured now that at least one member of the Insurgents now accompanied me everywhere

Tired of walking in on Terry, Amy, (the two smartest people other than Hermione I know) and I all over the school, McGonagall had given me permission to use the empty Transfiguration classroom at lunchtimes to practice. While Harry practised with Ron and Hermione, I had soon mastered the Impediment Jinx, a spell to slow down and obstruct attackers, the Reductor curse, which would enable me to blast solid objects out of my way, and the Four-Point Spell, a useful discovery of Amy's which would make my wand point due north, therefore enabling me to check whether I was going in the right direction within the maze. I was still having trouble with the Shield Charm, though. This was supposed to cast a temporary, invisible wall around myself that deflected minor curses; Terry managed to shatter it with a well-placed Jelly-Legs Jinx. I wobbled around the room for ten minutes afterwards before he had looked up the counter-curse.

"You're still doing really well, though, mate." Terry said encouragingly, looking down his list, and crossing off those spells we had already learnt.

"Some of these are bound to come in handy." Amy agreed, grinning at me.

"You'll need to learn constant vigilance, though." Terry grinned too, raising his wand. "Locomotor wib-"

I screamed and lunged aside, falling into Amy, and we fell into the heap of pillows behind us, giggling and shrieking. Terry cannonballed into the pillows beside us, and Amy and I screamed as we were launched into the air.

"I hate you, Hopper." I said casually as us three lounged on the pillow heap, our arms behind our heads. Terry grinned. "Love you though, Amy. I want you to replace him."

Amy cackled. "That I can do!" She shrieked as she unearthed her wand, aiming it at Terry, and we spent the rest of the 'lesson' fucking around.

Breakfast was a very noisy affair at the Gryffindor table on the morning of the third task. The post owls appeared, bringing me and Harry a good-luck card from Sirius. It was only a piece of parchment, folded over and bearing a muddy paw print on its front, but we appreciated it all the same. I got many more good-luck cards from admirers, both inside the school and out, and after five minutes of owls, I was swamped.

"Fuck, Softpaw, calm it down with the fanmail, bro!" Fred exclaimed as he drowned in envelopes.

"I wish that I was as famous as my sister sometimes." Harry said sadly as he picked up the three cards that were for him from my humongous pile.

"Get rekt, Harry." I crowed as I ripped open my seventy-seventh letter.

"Potters, the champions are congregating in the chamber off the Hall after breakfast." McGonagall's voice came from behind me. I jumped, accidentally nudging a few letters into the butter.

"But the task's not 'til tonight!" Harry said.

"I'm aware of that, Potter." McGonagall said. "The champions' families are invited to watch the final task, you know. This is simply a chance for you to greet them."

She moved away. Harry gaped after her.

"She doesn't expect the Dursleys to turn up, does she?" He asked me.

"I defo want to embarrass Ced in front of his parents!" I said happily.

Everyone cleared off to their classes, Fred, George, and Terry sneaking off to cause trouble somewhere. Cedric, Fleur, and Krum entered the side chamber, and Harry and I remained in our seats, finishing off opening the fan mail.

"Daisy, this dude wants to -"

"Throw it out." I said hurriedly.

"Yeah, on second thoughts, I might set it on fire." Harry said, cringing. I burst out laughing.

The door of the side chamber opened and Cedric stuck his head out.

"Daisy, come on, they're waiting for you! You too, Harry."

Um, who? Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon wouldn't have travelled here for this. The only time they ever acknowledged this place was when they thought I had literally died in the Chamber of Secrets.

Harry and I, utterly perplexed, got up and walked across the Hall, opening the door into the chamber.

Cedric and his parents were just inside the door. Viktor Krum was over in a corner, conversing with his dark-haired mother and father in rapid Bulgarian. He had inherited his father's hooked nose. On the other side of the room, Fleur was jabbering away in French to her mother. Fleur's little sister, Gabrielle, was holding her mother's hand. She waved at Harry and I, and we waved back simultaneously. Then I saw Mrs Weasley, Bill, and Dudley standing in front of the fireplace, beaming at us.

"DUDDERS!" I yelled, throwing my arms out and running towards him. Dudley threw his arms out too, and we collided, squeezing our arms around each other. "I haven't seen you in FOREVER! How's it going?"

"It's going alright. Megan and I have just started dating." Dudley grinned, rocking us side to side. "What about you? This whole Tri-thing sounds awesome! I wish I was a wizard like you and Harry."

"Alright too." I grinned up at my cousin. "I'm kinda seeing a famous witch from a band. She's hella emo. And hot."

"You're bi?" Dudley said, pushing his fringe out of his face. "Cool."

I nodded.

"I just had to come see you once they sent the fluffy bird asking us to come." Dudley explained. I snickered - he meant owl. "Of course, you know Mum and Dad - they pretended nothing happened, but I replied. Your principal came and picked me up - it was so cool!"

"Hey, Dudley." Harry sidled up beside us after greeting Mrs Weasley and Bill.

"Hey, Harry." Dudley slowly let me go, reaching out and high-fiving Harry. "You've definitely gotten taller. I think you're taller than Piers now."

"I definitely am." Harry agreed.

"Hello, Daisy!" Mrs Weasley said excitedly as her and Bill walked over to us. "Thought we'd come and watch you, love!" She bent down and kissed me on the cheek.

"You all right?" Bill said, grinning at me and shaking my hand. "Charlie wanted to come, but he couldn't get time off. He said you guys were incredible against the Horntail."

Fleur, I noticed, was eyeing Bill with great interest over her mother's shoulder. I smirked to Harry.

'Fleur thinks Bill looks yummy.'

Harry looked over at her and back to me.

'Someone has no objection whatsoever to long hair or earrings with fangs on them.' He replied.

'Indeed.'

'Naturally.'

We both snorted. Mrs Weasley looked at us in surprise, clearly not used to our twin telepathy.

"This is really nice of you, Mrs Weasley." I said to her, beaming.

"It's great being back here." Bill said, looking around the chamber (a lady in a portrait winked at him from her frame). "Haven't seen this place for five years. Is that picture of the mad knight still around? Sir Cadogan?"

"Oh, yeah." I said, remembering him from last year.

"And the Fat Lady?" Bill said.

"She was here in my time." Mrs Weasley said. "She gave me such a telling-off one night when I got back to the dormitory at four in the morning -"

"What were you doing out of your dormitory at four in the morning?" Bill said, surveying Mrs Weasley with amazement.

Mrs Weasley grinned, her eyes twinkling.

"Your father and I had been for a night-time stroll." She said. "He got caught by Apollyon Pringle - he was the caretaker in those days - your father's still got the marks."

I grinned. Fred and George would love to hear that.

"Fancy giving us a tour, twins?" Bill said. Dudley's face lifted in hopeful excitement.

"Yeah, okay." Harry and I chorused, and we made our way back towards the door into the Great Hall.

As we passed Amos Diggory, he looked around. "There you are, Daisy!" He said brightly. "How's you?"

"I'm good, Mr Diggory." I grinned, glancing at Cedric, who was grinning back at me. "Beat Ced in the Gryffindor versus Hufflepuff match, didn't you hear?"

Cedric flipped me off as Mr Diggory frowned at him.

"Cedric Diggory, did I not raise you to be a polite gentleman -" I heard Cedric's parents scolding him over the rude hand gesture he made at me as the five of us left the chamber.

We had a great time walking over the sunny grounds, returning to the castle to eat, Dudley admiring everything with awe, the twins and Ginny joining us at the Gryffindor table. The twins and Terry kept my spirits high, and by dinner, I was feeling very excited and confident. Amy and Terry sat to my left, reminding me of how to perform hexes, and the twins sat to my right, joking around. Harry sat opposite me, and while I scoffed everything in front of me, he didn't eat much. He never eats anything when he's nervous, really.

As the enchanted ceiling overhead began to fade from blue to a dusky purple, Dumbledore rose to his feet at the staff table, and silence fell.

"Ladies and gentlemen, in five minutes' time, I will be asking you to make your way down to the Quidditch pitch for the third and last task of the Triwizard Tournament. Will the champions please follow Mr Bagman down to the stadium now."

Harry and I got up. The Gryffindors all along the table were applauding us; the Weasleys and Hermione all wished us good luck. Terry leapt up and hugged me so tight I felt like I couldn't breathe; Draco came out from nowhere and did the same. Fred and George enveloped me, Fred giving me an extra squeeze of the hand, and Dudley slapped my back as we passed. Amy ran up to us just before we left the Great Hall.

"Here." She panted, slapping something into my hand. "It was my grandma's. She gave it to me to help my head clear and be able to use my brain without any distractions. It's just superstition, it's not magical at all. But maybe it can help you as a good luck charm."

I looked down at the object. It was a small eagle figurine made out of bronze. I looked back up at Amy, as she puffed her straight black box fringe out of her sky blue eyes, her lopsided grin widening.

"Good luck, Daze."

I threw my arms around her. Amy stumbled back slightly, and returned the hug, hard.

"Thanks, Ames."

I kept running over all the hexes and spells I had been practising in my mind as Harry, Cedric, and I walked down to the pitch, and the knowledge that I could remember them all made me feel confident. The small, cold eagle in my hand was helping, too.

We walked onto the Quidditch pitch, which was now completely unrecognisable. A twenty-foot-high hedge ran all the way around the edge of it. There was a gap right in front of us; the entrance to the vast maze. The passage beyond it looked dark and creepy.

Five minutes later, the stands had begun to fill; the air was full of excited voices and the rumbling of feet as the hundreds of students filed into their seats. The sky was a deep, clear blue now, and the first stars were starting to appear. Hagrid, 'Moody,' McGonagall, and Flitwick came walking into the stadium and approached us. They were wearing large, red, luminous stars on their hats, all except Hagrid, who had his on the back of his moleskin waistcoat.

"We are going to be patrolling the outside of the maze." Minnie said to us. "If you get into difficulty, and wish to be rescued, send red sparks into the air, and one of us will come and get you, do you understand?"

We all nodded.

"Off you go, then!" Bagman said brightly to the four patrollers.

"Good luck, Daisy, Harry." Hagrid whispered, and the four of them walked away in different directions, to station themselves around the maze. Bagman now pointed his wand at his throat, muttered, "Sonorus," and his magically magnified voice echoed into the stands.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the third and final task of the Triwizard Tournament is about to begin! Let me remind you how the points currently stand! In first place, on eighty-five points - the Potter twins, Daisy and Harry Potter, both of Hogwarts School!" The cheers and applause sent birds from the Forbidden Forest fluttering into the darkening sky. "In second place, on eighty points - Mr Cedric Diggory, of Hogwarts again!" More applause. "In third place - Mr Viktor Krum, of Durmstrang Institute!" Yet more applause. "And in fourth place - Miss Fleur Delacour, of Beauxbatons Academy!"

I could just make out Mrs Weasley, Bill, Ron, Hermione, Draco, Amy, Suzanne, and Shannon applauding Fleur politely, halfway up the stands. Fred, George, and Terry were cupping their hands around their mouths, booing her like they had been doing for everyone but Harry and I - and I saw Mrs Weasley slapping at the twins in disapproval as they laughed and dodged her.

I nudged Harry, and we both waved up at them, me grinning, and they all waved back, beaming at us. The people around them reached out, waving, and nudging each other excitedly, screaming and cheering, thinking that there was a possibility that I was waving at them.

I spotted Kylie Ford and her security team in a secluded section of the stands, and she was watching me with a small smile. I waved at her in surprise, and she gave me a single, posh wave back, her smile widening. I turned back to my friends, and Terry was clapping his hands to his cheeks, awed, staring at Kylie, mouthing, "Oh, fuck, it's her! It's her! I can't believe it!" George was pointing furiously at her, gesturing wildly to Fred and Terry as he yelled excitedly, and I snickered.

"So... on my whistle, Daisy and Harry!" Bagman said. "Three - two - one -"

He gave a short blast on his whistle, and my twin and I hurried forwards into the maze.

The towering hedges cast black shadows across the path, and, whether because they were so tall and thick, or because they had been enchanted, the sound of the surrounding crowd was silenced the moment we entered the maze. I felt almost as though we were underwater again. My brother and I pulled out our wands and muttered, "Lumos," simultaneously.

We reached a fork, and went left. I heard Bagman's whistle for the second time. Cedric had entered the maze.

Harry and I hurried along the maze, using the Four-Point Spell to guide us, strategically taking turns and different forks. I changed into my Animagus form to chase off a giant cat, and after two more whistles, we knew all the champions were now in the maze. The sky was getting navy above us.

Then I heard movement behind me. Harry and I held out our wands, ready to attack, but their beams fell only upon Cedric, who had just hurried out of a path on the right-hand side. He looked severely shaken. The sleeve of his robes was smoking.

"Hagrid's Blast-Ended Skrewts!" Cedric hissed. "They're enormous - I only just got away!"

He shook his head, and dived out of sight, along another path.

'Let's not go near those.' I sent to Harry.

'Let's not.' He agreed.

Harry and I hurried through the maze, using our wand-compasses, occasionally coming across random creatures and a Spinx with a riddle, that Harry and I had to converse on for ten minutes before we could figure it out.

We took a right turn and saw an odd golden mist floating ahead of us.

"What the fuck is that?" I said.

Harry approached it cautiously, pointing his wand's beam at it. This looked like some kind of enchantment.

"Could we blast it out of the way?" Harry asked.

"No harm in trying." I shrugged.

"Reducto!" We chorused.

The spells shot straight through the mist, leaving it intact.

"Eh, I guess the Reductor curse is for solid objects." I said.

"What would happen if we walked through the mist?" Harry said. "Is it worth chancing it, or should we just double back?"

We were still hesitating, staring at each other, when a scream shattered the silence.

"Fleur?" Harry and I yelled simultaneously.

There was silence.

"There's no sparks. She's fine, right?" I said uncertainly.

Harry bit his lip.

"Okay, let's go together." I said, and Harry nodded. "One - two - three -"

We each took a deep breath, and ran through the enchanted mist.

The world turned upside-down. We were hanging from the ground, with our hair on end, Harry's glasses dangling off his nose, threatening to fall into the bottomless sky. Harry clutched them to the end of his nose.

"What the fuck?" I said, terrified.

It felt as though my feet were glued to the grass, which had now become the ceiling. Below us the dark, star-spangled heavens stretched endlessly. I felt as though if I tried to move one of my feet, I would fall away from the earth completely.

"Oh my Godric, Daze, what's happening?" Harry whined.

"Think..." I told him and myself, as all the blood rushed to my head. "Think..."

"We haven't practised for this!" Harry said, glancing at me in terror.

"Let's just try and move our feet. Or maybe just one. Okay?" I said, panicking slightly. "Let's just move one foot each and see what happens, right?"

Harry nodded. I shut my eyes, so I wouldn't be able to see the view of endless space below me, grasped Amy's eagle in my hand tightly, and pulled my right foot as hard as I could, away from the grassy ceiling.

Immediately, the world righted itself. I fell forwards onto my knees on the wonderfully solid ground. I felt temporarily limp with shock. I took a deep, steadying breath, then got up again. I extended a hand to Harry, who took it, and we hurried forwards, looking back over our shoulders as we ran out of the golden mist, which twinkled innocently at us in the moonlight.

Before long, we had almost reached the centre. I could feel it. We'd heard Cedric yelling in the very far distance, but couldn't make out if he was saying anything.

"I'm glad we're in this together, Daze." Harry said as we marched along the paths. "It would be incredibly creepy and boring and lonely without somebody else here with me. It makes it better that it's you."

"Aww, Harry." I slung an arm around his shoulders. "I would be hella scared in this place without you too. I'd need some company."

We had a choice of paths up ahead. "Point me!" I whispered to my wand, and it spun around and pointed me to the right-hand one. We dashed up this one, and saw light ahead.

The Triwizard Cup was gleaming on a plinth a hundred yards away. Harry and I glanced at each other, grinning, and broke into a run.

When we had reached it, we both held out a hand over one of the Cup's gleaming handles.

"On three, right?" Harry said.

"One - two - three -" I said.

We both grasped a handle.

Immediately, the hedges around us melted away. The stands were revealed, and the crowd was screaming, a deafening din surrounding us.

"Ladies and gentlemen, Daisy and Harry Potter of Hogwarts School have won the Cup! The Triwizard Tournament is concluded! Hogwarts School wins the Tournament!" Bagman's voice echoed over the grounds.

I couldn't believe it. My heart was soaring; I glanced at Harry, and his face was shining with joy, his grin just as wide as mine. We held the Cup higher, and the crowd got louder, if that was possible.

Cedric jogged up to us from about a hundred feet away, looking a bit disappointed but still smiling. "Well done, Daisy, Harry! Good game."

He fist-bumped me and shook hands with Harry.

"You did good, Ced!" I yelled over the noise, Harry nodding enthusiastically beside me. "Respect!"

Fleur and Krum were approaching with Bagman, the rest of the judges, McGonagall, and Dumbledore. A cluster of, "Well done," "Excellent," "Great job," and, "brilliant work, twins!" surrounded us, and Minnie and Dumbledore beamed at us.

A large group was streaming towards us from the stands. The first to reach us were the Weasleys and Terry, Draco, Hermione, Suzanne, Amy, and Shannon, all yelling and cheering. Kylie and her bodyguards approached us from behind, and Kylie touched my arm lightly, smiling broadly.

"Hey, Daisy Potter." She said, her eyes shining.

"Hey, Kylie Ford." I grinned, and we both leaned in this time.

Our mouths connected, and the crowd in the stands went insane. Our lips moved together, our arms snaking around each other's bodies, holding each other tight. Then Kylie drew away, biting her lip, and smirked at me as she slinked away with her security team.

"Bruh." I said, my voice muffled by the screams around me.

Harry and I were hoisted onto the Weasleys' shoulders, the twins under me, and we were lifted high into the air, raising the Cup between us. The crowd was beside itself. Time to add tonight to my happy-memory bank for when I meet my next Dementor.

~~~
The night was spent celebrating, in a very loud and noisy party, in the Great Hall. Every House joined Gryffindor, and the teachers allowed it, because they were beside themselves too. Mini fireworks were set off, crisps and sweets and chocolates were abundant, and the air was full of chatter and pop music that I was playing from my untraceable source. It was the most fun I had had in ages. Harry and I were treated like royalty, and it was great to party with all my friends from different houses. Dudley was permitted to join us for the night, to our great happiness.
Shortly after we'd won the Triwizard Cup, I spotted Jerk melting the Moody mask off and hopping onto a broom, saluting me as he whizzed off into the dark, unnoticed by anyone. He's had a change of heart clearly, as he hasn't taken me to Voldemort. I expect that someone is going to notice within the next forty-eight hours that the DADA professor has left yet again.
A highlight of the night was Bagman approaching the Insurgents sheepishly and paying us back for our bet, including all the money we'd made off of it. He'd placed a bet that Harry and I would win the Tournament, and had clearly won big, and so for that, and Lee hissing to us that his dad had been having trouble with Bagman and his bets too, Fred charged him interest on the bet with a grin, and Bagman was coerced into adding onto the already-huge sum of Galleons we had earned. He grumbled to Lee that he'd pay his father back when he next saw him, and hurried back out of the Hall to our jeers and boos, and random students' jeers and boos, as they had heard us jeering and booing and decided to join in.
"Add this and your Triwizard winnings, Softpaw, and we can start Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, Insurgents' Infamous Inferno, AND have enough to buy our own place!" George crowed, and us four launched into excited discussion about the future.
Another highlight was when Harry and I perched on the arms of Dumbledore's chair, and told our story to the Hall. We were well received; everyone listened intently, roared with laughter at all my jokes, and cheered uproariously when we'd finished. We crowd-surfed again, pure joy flowing through us.
Eventually, it was dawn, and everyone was exhausted. The Hall was quietening down, everyone relaxing on sleeping bags, watching the sunrise up on the enchanted ceiling.
"Congratulations, Daisy." Harry said softly as our group lay close to each other, all staring up at the beautiful orange and pink above us.
"Congratulations, Harry." I replied, smiling.
