I sat on her neat, made, bed and put on my shoes.

Akia took out her braid and brushed her hair looking at herself in the mirror on the wall. In the reflection in the mirror I saw her eyes catch mine and I quickly looked away.

I heard a bell ring and Akia quickly finished her hair, threw on her shoes and ran out the door.

I stood calmly and walked out the door to find Akia eagerly waiting for me at the door.

She grabbed my hand and dragged me down the hall. Akia started running and I tripped, not prepared for the speed she was going, and fell on my face.

‘Echo!’

Akia rushed to my side to help me up, her tie was perfectly placed on her uniform.

She was on her knees next to me.

I was pretty sure she was checking for an injury but I just stood up.

‘I’m fine Akia, don’t worry but we should get to class.’

I never thought I would hear myself say that.

I would give anything to go back to a time when getting to class on time was the most important part of the day.
