Jiang Li was acting abnormally recently.

His whereabouts began to become mysterious.  He always came home late at night and always looked tired.  I asked him why, but he never gave me a proper answer and just said that he was busy.

Busy with work?  I have never seen him this busy before.

And he refused to let me send him lunch.  The reason he gave me was he was afraid that I would be tired.  Goodness!   Before this, you were not afraid I would be tired?

When I asked him this question, he said that the company was busy and afraid I would add to the chaos.  I sweated.  Sending a meal would cause chaos?  Am I so destructive?

His abnormal behavior made me more and more uneasy as if something unpleasant was about to happen.

I told He Zi about this and she shook her head mysteriously.  "In this type of situation, eighty percent is……he is having an affair."

I felt a chill run through me.  I shuddered and almost fell off my chair.  "No…..no….."   Although Jiang Li occasionally would bully me, he was not the type of person who strays.

He Zi stared at me and said.  "Xiao Guan, don’t tell me it had never crossed your mind.  Straying is the nature of men.  It is better to keep a close watch on him."

I scratched my head.  "How to watch over him?"  He does not even let me send him his lunch.  How am I supposed to watch him?  This thought made me discouraged.

She thought for a moment and then said.  "Just monitor him for a few more days and if there is anything unusual, immediately report back to me.  Then I will help you with other ideas."

I briefly nodded my head. 

That is the only thing I can do now.  I really hope that he will not act abnormally but if he does not abnormally, how will I be able to investigate? …….really, the more I am with Jiang Li, I have become a pervert myself…….

At this moment, He Zi squinted her eyes and her face showed a cold expression.  She clenched her fists and said.  "If he dares to stray…..first, I will decapitate the vixen and then castrate your man!"

When she said those words, I broke out in cold sweat.  She seemed to have a fanatical obsession with 'castration'……….perverted!…..perverted!

A few days later, when I discovered an unfamiliar perfume scent on the clothes of Jiang Li, I was unable to hold back any longer.

He Zi roared into my ears.  "Guan Xiao Yan, if you don’t act then others will take advantage of you!"

I rubbed my painful ears and whispered.  "Then, what can I do?"

HZ:  "Find a private detective and get hold of the other woman first!"

I looked up at the sky, let out a sigh and then said.  "Never mind.  I will be the detective then."   I would be sad to let others know about this matter, even if he is a private detective. 

She patted me on my shoulder and said sternly.   "Don’t worry!  Just remember, don’t let him find out that you are checking on him."

I nodded solemnly and hugged her by her shoulders.  As I caressed her back, I nearly burst into tears.

Early spring sunset gave out warmth.  At XQ Building entrance, a woman dressed in hippie clothes, wearing sunglasses was sneaking glances towards the door and from time to time, she would look at her watch. The security at the doorway had noticed this woman for quite some time and wanted to drive her away.  Unfortunately, they could not find any valid reasons to do so and therefore they had to be vigilant and kept staring at the woman.

That woman was me. 

The security was staring at me and they gave me the shivers. 

Please!  I am only here to keep track of my husband, why do you have to stare?!

Pretending nothing was amiss I walked around in front of the security and looked at my watch.  Jiang Li should be getting off work, right?  I went to the roadside and flagged down a taxi.  I waited inside the taxi for a while, then I saw his sleek BMW slowly passed by.

The taxi driver cheerfully stepped on the gas pedal and we started to trail Jiang Li's car.

Although I did not remember the BMW model, fortunately, I remembered his license plate number.

In the taxi, I called Jiang Li's cell phone and asked him.  "What time will you be back?"

He answered gently.  "I already told you I will be back a bit late tonight.  Why….do you miss me?"  The second part was said with a smile.

I was depressed.  "You have not got off work yet?"

JL:  "This….there are some things I have to settle.  Take your dinner and don’t wait for me."

Me:  "What are you eating?"

JL:  "Anything is fine.  Don't worry about me."

Me:  "Oh......"

JL:  "Guan Xiao Yan."

Me:  "En..…."

JL:  "Do you miss me?"

Me:  "….."

JL:  "Guan Xiao Yan, I miss you."

Me:  "Oh……Jiang Li, I'm cooking.  I won’t talk to you now."

I hung up the phone.

I leaned back on the seat and looked at the white car in front not far away which was waiting for the green light with Jiang Li inside.  He said he missed me…….

Suddenly I felt silly.  Jiang Li was busy handling his business, how could I keep pestering him?  But when I thought of the unfamiliar perfume, I……….

I weakly closed my eyes.......forget it, the truth would be revealed soon.  It would be better to follow him to get a clearer picture than to be suspicious the whole time.

I am willing to believe what I see with my own eyes.

Jiang Li's car was parked outside a classy restaurant.  I paid the taxi fare and was just about to get off when I saw a familiar figure.  They walked together and went into the restaurant.  

It was a woman's figure.

My heart almost stopped and my mind went blank.  Jiang Li, woman….. Jiang Li, woman….. Jiang Li, woman……..

Jiang Li…….he and another woman are dating?

My hands and feet began to feel cold and I felt my whole body's strength suddenly draining away.

The taxi driver asked.  "Hey, are you alright?"

I looked at him in a daze and then he said.  "Do you want to go somewhere else?  Why are you still sitting in the car?"

Instantly, I panicked and jumped off the car slamming the door shut with a bang.

The taxi driver threw me an explicable glance and then drove away.

At this time, night had fallen and the sky had turned dark.  I stood still with an unprecedented sense of loneliness in my heart.  I looked at the brightly lit, classy French restaurant where the two people were dating.  The atmosphere was really romantic.

I took a deep breath and walked cautiously towards the restaurant entrance.

As I stepped into the restaurant, unexpectedly I heard a melodious laugh and saw the smiling face.  I wished in this life, I had never stepped in here.

Once that smiling face had said to me, lovingly.  "Sister Xiao Yan, you are so nice to me!"

Once that smiling face had said to me, frostily.  "Guan Xiao Yan, in fact, Yu Zi Fei is not suitable for you!"

Once that smiling face had said to me, righteously.  "Since you kept saying we are friends, why not let me have Yu Zi Fei ?"

Yes, the owner of that smiling face is Xue Hong.......

I looked at the smiling Xue Hong and I laughed bitterly to myself. 

The enemy's path is sure narrow and my domain is forever shrinking......where in the world is my home?…………..

From where she was sitting, Xue Hong could see me.  She looked at Jiang Li as she laughed heartily at something he said and she was fawning over him.

I looked at Jiang Li's back and felt like a large stone was pressing on my heart making it difficult for me to breath.  He said he was busy......he said he missed me…….when he said all these…..who was he actually thinking of? ……..

I held the cell phone in my hand and I hesitated for a long time.  Then I sent Jiang Li a message.

~ Jiang Li, what are you doing?

Then he replied. 

~ I am busy.  Be good.  Will be home soon to accompany you.

I looked at the startling message on the screen.  Hopelessly, I closed my eyes then I turned around and walked away.

Leaving the restaurant, I had walked not too far away when my cell phone suddenly vibrated.  A text message came in.  With complicated feelings of hope and tension, I opened the message to see a string of unfamiliar numbers.  The message content read.

~ Jiang Li does not want you anymore.  For your own good, it would be best for you leave him.

My heart sank.  My mind flashed with the image of her seductive, bright and flirtatious face.  Trembling I asked her.

~ Who are you?

In a few seconds, she sent me another message. 

~ You already know.  Why ask?

I stared at that line of words and hesitated a long time before I replied.

~ How do you know my number?

In fact, this question seemed to be irrelevant, right?  I laughed at myself.  Sure enough, in no time, she replied to me.

~ Who else but your dear husband?

I felt as if my head was hit by something heavy.  I had a bad headache.  I pinched my forehead and forced myself to calm down.  Then I replied to her.

~ I would ask Jiang Li for a clear explanation.

After a while, she replied:   

~ As you wish.  Anyway if you ask, it will only be a humiliation to yourself.

I replied:  

~ You slut.   

Just two words.  My emotions which were ruthlessly suppressed for half a day could finally be let out.  Then I took a deep breath and threw my cell phone into the trash can without care. 

Now the world is quiet.

When I was about to walk away, I heard the phone vibrating in the trash can.  I hesitated for a moment before I went to the trash can to dig out my phone.  I dug and dug, finally dug out the phone that Jiang Li bought me.  Then I saw her message. 

~ You lost in the hands of a slut.

Holding the cell phone in my hand, I squatted by the roadside and started to cry.
