"Dammit, do you have a grudge against me or something? Be gentle!" Leo turned and yelled disgruntledly, directing the robots to clean up the damaged hibernation cabin.

The aide wasn't an ordinary person; he was a warrior who could smash a hibernation cabin with a single punch. With his strength, Leo was afraid that he might break the hibernation cabin, and then a new one would have to be moved out of the warehouse, how troublesome!

The attendant looked down at the woman in the cabin.

She sank into the body culture solution, her lips slightly parted. A string of little bubbles rose from her mouth.

But at this time she was still conscious. She opened her eyes, slowly raised her hands and rested them against the hatch cover.

The whole time, she kept watching him, her lips moving.

Save me.

The attendant lit a cigarette and stood beside the hibernation cabin, looking at her quietly.

Having cleaned up the other side, Leo came over and activated the hibernation cabin. The inside was dimly lit, and within that light, Han Yanyan closed her eyes. The hands that had been touching the hatch cover drifted down.

Immersed in the culture medium, her hair floating around her, she looked calm and serene.

However, the attendant clearly remembered her desperation just now. On the brink of despair, yet still unwilling to give up; this was a tough, tenacious woman.

Operating the control panel, Leo mumbled, "How much inhibitor to add to the culture medium, two times... no, no, three times. Keep it at that concentration! Don't let her play around with my anxiety again!"

This woman really made one's sleep uneasy!

A number of different liquids appeared in the culture medium, quickly diluting, mixing together, and disappearing. In this culture solution mixed with inhibitors, thought the attendant, she'll no longer be able to struggle. No longer be able to resist.

Wrapping up the operations, Leo turned to see the aide staring at Han Yanyan. She was currently completely naked, and Leo felt a flash of unhappiness.

Han Yanyan was his architect, and in Leo's mind, his property. His fingers danced across the operation panel, and the transparent hatch cover darkened, becoming opaque.

In fact, the aide was not actually being obscene at all. He was just staring at her face. Cigarette between his fingers, he glanced at Leo and said, "I hadn't expected her to be so beautiful."

Leo snorted. "She has me to thank for that. I didn't exaggerate the effects of my gene improver. Her genetic level is no lower than yours right now, and her frame has been readjusted into its optimal state. Of course she's pretty."

"Oh shit!" Leo suddenly remembered, "My client!"

To one side, he pulled open a screen. In that screen was an instrument, and in the center of that instrument, a cyan light was suspended.

"SS-class?" The attendant said, surprised. It was said that an SS-class spiritual power source in its awakened state was cyan. He himself was just an S-class.

"He's quite a big shot. A general from Yinsai Meigao." Leo said, proudly. "See that? I woke him up."

Wasn't that evil?

But for a few fringe religions, the universal consensus on spiritual power sources was that these were the next step of human evolution. If these deceased souls were well preserved, they might be truly resurrected in the future when life or technology became more developed, to live an eternal life.

"Well then, now that he's awakened, I'm going to put him in." Leo said, doing exactly that.

Two hemispheres slowly moved closer to that cyan soul, finally closing into a ball with the cyan light inside.

This spherical metal container, called "the home of the source", was the equivalent to the urn of Han Yanyan's homeworld.

It had only been a thousand years since the technology of the home of the source had been invented. Within an hour after the death of the body, the spiritual source closes itself and leaves the restraint of mortal flesh. At this time, if captured in the home of the source, it could then be preserved for a long time, awaiting the the day human technology advances to be brought back to life.

However, once this closed-up soul was reawakened, even stored in the home of the source it would only last at most a few dozen hours before naturally dissipating.

Completely erased from the universe.

Disturbing the sleep of the dead. It should frighten a man half to death.

Leo's business, in the terms of Han Yanyan's homeworld, was as bad as digging up a grave. Not only did Han Yanyan think that he was low, even the aide disdained him.

But alas, clients for such a business came in such a steady stream that sometimes they had to wait in line.

Leo's prices had been rising steadily over the years.

"Was it his enemy?" asked the aide. His thinking followed the same path as Han Yanyan's, running first along the lines of major issues such as state secrets, political foes, military deployment, and so on.

Leo let out a scornful laugh.

"Let me tell you, if you were in my line of work, you would know," he said sarcastically, "that ninety percent of the people who open the home of the source and have you disappear from this world are your so-called relatives. Among them, 75% do it for the inheritance, and the rest of them do it for some stupid bullshit reason. Mostly reasons so dumb you wouldn't even be able to think of them, yet thanks to that they dare open the homes of their own kinsmen's sources. Hah."

The attendant: "..."

He took another breath of his cigarette, not wanting to hear any more of this nonsense. Quietly, he watched as the general's spiritual power source was placed back into the home of the source, and then the transmission light flashed as it was sent back to the payer.

On second thought, he stubbed out his cigarette. At the very least, he could express his condolences for the final outcome of a formerly great man.

He was Duke Kline's principal aide, and a nobleman himself. He had been given an elite education and was considered cultured and refined.

For instance, when he saw Han Yanyan naked, he wouldn't stare like Leo had, but would take off his jacket to cover her. This was thanks to his polish and refinement.

But when she had begged him for help, he had refused her coldly. Because he needed Han Yanyan.

Before his needs, all of her despair and desperation had been locked into a narrow hibernation cabin, immersed in cold culture solution.

Han Yanyan opened her eyes and knew that she was on her own.
