Chapter 41. The Royal Demon Capital (3/3).

 

After our little conversation with the others from the other side, the two of us laid our backs on a sofa with a maid handing us some tea and cookies. You really can’t underestimate the luxuries of living in such a palace. You’d have maids all around you ready to serve, knights ready to battle, and butlers ready to take over your work at any point in time.

 

It was no wonder why Helesta, who despite being a Queen, was able to be on the town almost every day since she throws all her work onto her servants and those servants would then just come to visit her every time they need her.

 

“What kind of tea is this?” I asked while taking a sip of the refreshing tea.

 

“It’s Pearl Grey tea, did you like it?” Helesta responded with a grin whilst she continued to sip on her tea as I nodded.

 

“Pearl Grey huh… I haven’t heard about that kind of tea but it sure is delicious,” I complimented before looking at her with a serious look, “Anyhow, you said earlier that you wanted to show me something that should have an effect on my current known powers. What is that thing that you want to show?”

 

“Right! There was that… but we have to go out a bit if you want to see it. Do you have wings to use, or do you want to piggyback on me?” she grinned.

 

I didn’t hesitate and immediately released both of my wings that I haven’t used in a while. They were tiny wings, but they do pack quite the power. If I remember correctly, the last time I opened up my wings a bit was during that boar hunting with Ayaka but since this place is known for demons with wings as well then I have nothing to fear at all.

 

“Your wings sure look quite cute and incredible. It’s almost like you aren’t a vampire at all but an angel. I was expecting some sort of blood-colored wing to come out, but I’d never expected you to have the wings of an angel,” she looked in awe.

 

I was confused and turned around before seeing my wings looking completely different. They were still tiny but they weren’t the same wings that I wore for my lifetime. It was pure white feathers with a bit of gold, not to mention, the wings were glowing yellow.

 

“Did you perhaps meet some kind of deity and received a blessing with them?” she inquired before a sudden memory came into my mind. It was that time when I intruded into the Divine Goddess’ place by pure accident.

 

I immediately popped open my statistic window before the title which had been full of bright red question marks suddenly showed something else.

 

 

It was such a long window that I couldn’t help but be in a bit of a shock. If I am correct then all of these question marks must be answered by me through discovery. It’s like a puzzle piece but with the pieces hidden everywhere.

 

That wasn’t just it, my statistics were now corrected somehow… the last time, it showed all of them were higher than Helesta which was 1,024 but it seems like the system hadn’t synchronized itself last time which makes more sense now.

 

“Mhm… I got quite the terrific blessing, you could say,” I laughed bitterly before she smiled as her two wings popped out from her back like some beautiful painting.

 

Her wings were different from my current, they were large and elegant. All of her feathers were mist black in color and had this noble feel to them. Aesthetically, her wings were super beautiful that it made me doubt her race was from the same family as a succubus.

 

“I am in the same row. I received a blessing from a deity before but looking at how noble and powerful your wings look; it seems like the deity that blessed me is a million times lower in rank than yours. I wonder how you even survived meeting such a deity,” she giggled before standing up as she reached her hand towards me, “But that doesn’t matter, my gift for you will definitely be way better! I don’t want to be beaten by some kind of deity that I don’t know!”

 

Her remarks made me giggle unconsciously as I took her hand without reluctance before the two of us walked out towards the balcony where she looked at me with a nod, “Be sure to hold my hand tight otherwise you’d get lost since the place we are heading to is quite the magical maze.”

 

“Are you sure you aren’t using that as an excuse to hold my hand?” I looked at her suspiciously before she looked away whistling which made me laugh even more.

 

I am not dense enough to not know her approaches to me. I don’t plan on falling in love with anyone so far, but I also don’t plan on not playing around with the people close to me. Who knows, maybe one day… my heart might change like how Ayaka changed my world.

 

“Let’s go, shall we?” she asked before I nodded as the two of us flapped our wings before launching up in the air at a super high speed.

 

After like ten seconds from launching, the two of us soon blasted out from a cloud, casting a magical white and black trail behind us as we flew super high into the skies before stabilizing at a high point where oxygen is supposed to be so little.

 

I could still breathe properly though which didn’t make sense at all if we are going by modern science but then again, this world is inherently different from Earth.

 

“A little more forward and we should reach the destination, it’s about eleven months to reach there by walking and eight months by carriage. That’s why flying towards it is the best choice,” she explained as both of us continued to increase our speed.

 

“I see… though the skies do make for a good date, don’t you think?” I teased before she smiled with a nod.

 

Albeit a bit hotter than on the ground, staying high up above the clouds was really a sight to behold. It was like you were on a river of fluffy clouds. The skies gave this refreshing blue tint and islands of every kind wandered in your sight as you look down.

 

“I’ll gladly take note that you like these kinds of places for dates,” she giggled before I flicked her forehead once more which caught her off guard as a soft laugh escaped my mouth. I could have sworn I was a straight person back then, who’d knew I would be doing stuff like this after arriving here… hahaha.

 

After a seemingly few minutes in the air, she soon looked at me with a nod downwards which was basically a signal to start descending. I looked back and nodded as well before the two of us quickly started descending down towards the ground at a super high speed.

 

Slowly but surely, I measured my distance by instinct before opening both my wings at their fullest like a parachute which immediately slowed down my descent before suddenly, the bright blue waters that were supposed to be below me suddenly vanished like a phantom.

 

And what replaced the bright blue waters were lush green land, little animals like raccoons running around, and a magnanimous, gigantic tree that stood beyond the clouds. I couldn’t help but gasp from what I was seeing.

 

“What is this?” I looked at Helesta as the two of us quickly touched the ground.

 

“You will know soon, come follow me…” she said while walking towards the tree before I quickly caught up to her as what should have been a log suddenly opened up to a room with spiral stairways of wood.

 

I was utterly speechless at what I was seeing but kept silent as the two of us marched the super tall spiral stairways that stretched seemingly endless.

 

After what seemed like hours of walking, we soon reached the very top of the tree where a boulder stood covered in vines. The boulder was glowing golden as a little tree stood behind it. But that boulder wasn’t the main attraction… it was what was stuck in the boulder almost like King Arthur’s sword.

 

“This is the thing that I wanted to show you. It’s a rapier of the legends, only I so far knows about it while I was venturing everywhere on the continent. You can read more about the rapier at the book over there but it’s something that will definitely suit you very well,” she explained while pointing towards the book that was placed before the boulder.

 

I took a glance at the rapier which looked incredibly beautiful. It had a thin blade, but its blade shone with magnificence. The hilt of the rapier also carried a simple design but that simple design was what gave its noble look with four rubies on four spots and a red top.

 

There was also a beautiful red sheath that had four rubies on it together with a blue royal jacket that looked like it should be worn by a royal knight.

 

“Let me take a quick skim of the book…” I said before she nodded whilst I took the book and opened it before beautiful, cursive handwriting came to my view.

 

To whom this book may reach.

 

I may have passed away by the time this book is found but I still desire to have these weapons of mine receive their proper inheritance. I won’t talk too much about their history, but it is important that you should know a bit about these weapons.

 

These two items are called ‘A Set of Velen’ which should translate to ‘A Set of Chaos’ and as their name implies, to use these items to their fullest, you need to have the ‘Chaos’ attribute which is a mix of Light, Darkness and all four attributes paired with all the unnatural elements like Lightning and Ice.

 

The requirements for these items are really high that even I could dream of using these items to their fullest but even then… these items are pure weapons by themselves even without the proper requirements so long as you have both light and dark elements like I do…

 

I won’t talk too much, but the rapier stuck at the boulder is called Rapier of Sin, and the jacket is called the Suit of Blessings, they are both contrasting items but they both complement themselves well. Their abilities completely depend on their user but once you know what ability you can use from them, you have the full power to destroy a kingdom completely or even an empire.

 

I hope these items reach the righteous ones instead of the evil… it’s my last wish as their previous owner and the wish of all their previous wielders.

I was a bit overwhelmed by the signature at the very bottom and looked at Helesta who simply nodded, “As you have known, it’s written by my first ancestor who once ruled a large part of the continent with tremendous powers that far surpassed mine…”

 

“You should have taken them to yourself, why didn’t you?” I asked before she shook her head.

 

“No one has a mix of Light and Darkness element nor even two unnatural elements or even two elements. I only have darkness element, ice element, water element, fire element, and wind element but I can’t even take out any of those items with my elements…” she smiled bitterly.

 

“If you can’t take it then I doubt I could…” I said before she shook her head almost immediately.

 

“You are different, Aya. You are a holder of the only Velen element in this world so far, you might be wondering how I know that but this is only my speculation. You have the ability to use all elements according to my intelligence units and by being able to use all the elements, you naturally form chaos which is what Velen is…” she explained.

 

I was a bit surprised to hear about what Velen attribute really is despite hearing about it back then, I never bothered to ask that idiot god mainly because I was too occupied over other things. I was left a bit speechless and frowned a bit before taking a look at the rapier and jacket.

 

“Okay… I’ll do it,” I said before a beautiful smile blossomed on her face as I walked towards the boulder and placed both my hands on the hilt of the rapier.

 

Almost like butter, the rapier pulled itself away before the jacket suddenly flew out from the ground, attaching itself towards my back like I was some sort of magnet.

 

“Our dearest master, thank you for waking us up after billions of years…” a soft yet young girlish voice echoed inside my head which confused me a bit before all of a sudden, a bright yellow light exploded from below us as both our surroundings turned bright white with two little twins standing in front of us.

 

One had red hair and eyes like magma while the other had blue hair and eyes like the ocean. They were both dressed beautifully like some sort of young goddesses. As I was overwhelmed by their looks, the blue-haired one suddenly ran towards me with a crying look.

 

“It’s Mommy!”

 

Both Helesta and I were left utterly speechless.
