Can i call you a nerd?
Yes, yes you can :3
@Tumbmar Took forever, but NERDDDD
@Ilikewaterkusa
Hindu-Buddhist mythology? We need more of those novels…
Yee, although I think what I wrote is nearing more toward mythology than fantasy, in terms of writing style at least.
@Tumbmar Where are you from anyways? Or else I suspect you’re Buddhist yourself?
@Venusaur26 Close. I'm Hindu, and live in America.
@Tumbmar The way you write nearing more towards legend than fantasy…
Lol! Just like Journey to the West! XD
@Venusaur26 Yee, I had one other story that I wrote before this that people said sounded like the bible. This is a lot more toned down than what I had before, but I eventually want to get it out at some point. If you read Appendix B which should come out on Saturday, you'll find an excerpt that comes from that older work.
@Tumbmar I like it, though!
Have you read or heard about Journey to the West, now that I think of it? I've binge-watched the Chinese series, and I liked it a lot!
@Venusaur26 I'm actually in the middle of reading it. I got the Anthony C. Yu translation, and currently at the part where Tripitaka meets Sun Wukong trapped under the mountain. But I already know the general story from friends, and analysis/summary vids.
Even though it's not the easiest read I feel more anime/manga lovers should read it. They'll understand why Japanese and East Asian literature is the way it is, kind of like how Illiad and the Odyssey reinforces a lot of narrative structure in western works.
@Tumbmar Damn, I love that monkey king!
