The inner sanctum of the Grand Temple was a place of awe and reverence. The walls and pillars of black stone glistened with a rainbow of colors, reflecting a miniscule fragment of the God of Destruction's divine light. In the center of the room stood a massive statue containing the sealed body of the god, shaped like an enormous four-legged beast covered in a thick coat of hair. Its eyes were carved out of glowing black gems and its enormous mouth was lined with flat white teeth. It stood in motionless vigil, awaiting the release of its great and ancient power.

The research division’s Gordon was struck speechless at the sight, unable to move or even blink. He felt like he was in a waking dream. Elder Incarnate chuckled and tapped the floor with his wooden cane, breaking the low-ranked Chosen One out of his trance.

"Heheheh! My child, this is the most sacred and secret of places. It is a severe crime for the uninitiated to enter here. It is only through my wisdom and guidance that you have been granted permission to see this holy place. Now, bow down before the might of our lord Llamoomoo, the one who brought the Divine Mysteries to the Chosen! Do not insult him by ignoring his presence!”

Gordon did as he was told, bowing his head and lowering his gaze. Elder Incarnate gently tapped the man's head with the tip of his cane, a satisfied smile on his face.

"Llamoomoo, hehehe... can you feel Llamoomoo's power? Can you feel his greatness?"

Gordon nodded his head, still staring at the ground. He felt his skin crawl as his mind was invaded by horrific images of the monstrous God of Destruction. The strange being possessed the body of an animal, but its black eyes appeared to burn with the fury of a demon. An ominous feeling of dread washed through Gordon, and he shuddered uncontrollably. He could sense that Llamoomoo was watching him. He closed his eyes and tried to shake off the terror, but there was no escape from the God of Destruction's terrible stare.

"Yes, supreme one. I am honored."

Gordon couldn't resist looking at the statue of the sealed divinity for just a moment. He didn't understand what he was seeing, but the image made his stomach churn with fear. Elder Incarnate continued to watch the young man's every move with great interest.

"Hehehe! It is magnificent to stand before him! A word of warning. You must never look upon Llamoomoo's face, for if he sees your eyes, you will become nothing more than a mindless monster!"

Gordon twisted his body in fear, trying to avoid catching a glimpse of the terrifying beast.

"Please forgive me for being so weak, supreme one. His power is too much for me. I am not worthy."

Elder Incarnate grinned wickedly.

"Yes, yes. Good. That is the proper attitude. It is impossible for one such as you to comprehend the fullness of Llamoomoo’s power.”

Gordon could feel his heart pounding out of his chest. He had seen the God of Destruction's awful face, and he shuddered at the thought of doing it again. Gordon was sure that he would go insane if he ever saw Llamoomoo's true form. He wanted to scream, but instead he bowed his head lower and spoke in a quiet and reverent tone.

"I'm sorry, great Llamoomoo. Forgive me. I don't know how to serve you. All I can offer is a humble prayer. I hope that you will be merciful and bless me with strength and wisdom in order to help others find their way to your side."

With his body still bent in submission, Gordon looked up at Elder Incarnate. His thoughts drifted off to his fiance, Amy. Tears welled up in his eyes and a huge lump formed in his throat. He was losing his nerve. He wasn't ready to die.

Elder Incarnate put his left hand on Gordon’s shoulder and smiled.

"I can help you overcome your fear of our lord, Gordon. The God of Destruction is merciful and forgiving, but you must face him with strong resolve. Let go of your weakness. Be strong in your faith..."

Elder Incarnate moved his hand to the top of Gordon's head. The young man felt a tremendous wave of energy pass through his body. He was overcome with the urge to take deep, even breaths.

A divine vision forced its way into Gordon's consciousness. He saw a vast herd of hairy four-legged animals with skinny legs and long necks moving slowly across a golden field. A giant, furry beast with a hideous spotted body and long, straight ears was leading the pack. Gordon's mind went numb as the image of the God of Destruction overwhelmed his senses.

The young man was still a trembling, nervous wreck. It felt like the God of Destruction was right in front of him. He was certain he was about to be devoured. But then the scene changed. The herd of four-legged beasts transformed into a group of people, each one covered in patches of thick, shaggy hair. Their bodies were naked, and they wore crude weapons and jewelry. They moved as one, all facing the same direction.

The vision shifted again. This time, Gordon saw a gathering of Chosen Ones. There was a crowd of thousands of them, all dressed in robes that glimmered with a rainbow of colors. They walked in unison, chanting eerily and raising their arms above their heads.

A terrible voice broke through the air, a sound of thunderous power.

"I am Llamoomoo, master of the heavens! All shall know my glory!”

The ground shook violently, and the air was filled with the deafening sound of a windstorm. There was a flash of lightning, and the Chosen Ones jumped and danced with joy. The God of Destruction was pleased by the adoration, and its followers felt his power wash over them. The Chosen Ones in their shining robes began to change, accepting traits of spirit and animal.

"We are the Chosen Ones, the blessed ones, the holy ones, the pure ones!"
"We have been given a sacred duty by the great Llamoomoo!"
"The time has come for the world to be destroyed. I am ready to destroy it!"
"Llamaaaaa! Llamaaaahhh!"
"It's a miracle! A grand, divine miracle!"
"Let the end come for this world!"
"This is the Golden Field of Life!"
"Ooooohhhhhh!"

A loud, blood-curdling roar echoed from the sky, and tiny fragments of white light as bright as the sun gently fell to the earth.

"Llamoomoo, Llamoomoo, Llamoomoo, Llamoooooomoo!"

The chorus of chanting grew even louder. The large, furry, shaggy animals with long, thin necks and skinny legs who had once been human looked up at the sky in wonder.

"Llamoomoo, Llamoomoo, Llamoomoo, Llamooooooooooomoo!"

"Llamoomoo. Llamoomoo. Lla... moomoo. Lla... moo... moo..."
"Awaken, my child! Awaken, Llamoomoo's servant!"

The vision faded, and Gordon slowly opened his eyes. The young man's hands were outstretched in reverence as if he was waiting for the monster Llamoomoo to devour him. Elder Incarnate stood above him, cheerfully waving a wooden cane in the air.

"Do you see now, my dear Gordon? Our master, the great god Llamoomoo, is the one true and absolute being!"
"Ahhhh, Llamoomoo, I'm so happy. I can't stop smiling. Elder, I saw him. He's real. He's here. He's watching us."

Gordon was ecstatic. He was so thrilled that he was about to burst. He was sure the God of Destruction was looking down on the Grand Temple and the people inside.

"Llamoomoo loves his children, the Chosen Ones, more than anything else in the entire world. He watches over us every day. He sees everything we do, and he is always here to guide us. He will guide you too, child. Ahh, it's a sign! He knows your heart, and he wants to help you!"

Gordon felt a sense of peace and tranquility wash over him. His mind was filled with visions of Llamoomoo, but he was no longer afraid. The rough-and-tumble high-school dropout had been reborn as a humble, pious, and devoted worshiper.
