“I hate you!” The young, gangly, pale looking teen shrieks, his voice awkwardly breaking midway through his shriek, reducing the ferocity behind his words. Realizing this, his lips press tightly together and with a huff of irritation, he turns and sprints away from the taller figure clad in a darker coat. Watching him run, the taller figure hesitates, as if torn between following or allowing him to run. After several moments, he finally decides to let the boy be, only calling out “Sean?”

“Yes, boss.” Another voice answers from behind him as a well built, but otherwise ordinary looking man previously hidden within the nearby shadow of an alleyway, steps out to follow the boy. The man in the dark coat stands there watching Sean disappear after the boy within a few quick steps. Then, assured of the young man’s safety, he turns and gets into the car, gives his driver a command, and zooms off into the distance. He leaves assured, sure that nothing will happen to the boy since, with such a capable bodyguard as Sean, he's safe from anything humanly possible. Furthermore, there are a few others tailing them as well in case extra manpower is needed. But what the man fails to consider is what if something outside of the realm of what is humanly possible occurs, such as something...magical?

Back to the boy and Sean, they’ve traveled quite some distance by this point. The boy stumbles along, clanking into trash cans and tripping over plastic bags as he mutters to himself. Behind the boy, Sean follows like a silent shadow, unseen but constantly present.

As the youth falls on his face for the nth time he bursts into curses, his curses interspersed with muttered grumbling.

“...all his fault...do this, do that….bastard...that asshole...thinks he’s my dad....”

As he scrambles back up he tries to kick a nearby trash can to vent, yet only succeeds in stubbing his foot. This results in another round of cursing.

Behind him Sean, unable to stand remaining silent, attempts to speak.

“Young master-” His cold, monotonous sounding voice simply enrages the young man even further and he whirls around.

“Why are you here!? Ha! I should’ve known, my brother never would have let me go without sending his dog to follow me!...” The boy continues spewing insults as the man in front of him remains unmoving and unflinching to the point where it feels like punching cotton. This further enrages the boy and he starts with another round of insults.

Sean simply allows the boy’s curses and accompanying spit to fall on him, his eyes empty and clear, until he notices something behind the boy that causes him to widen his eyes. The young man, seeing this, simply intensifies his words, his eyes glinting with the satisfaction of finally causing a dent on that impassive visage. Meanwhile Sean’s eyes continually widen. He opens his mouth to speak but the boy refuses to let him get in a word edgewise.

Realizing words are useless Sean sprints forward and envelops the young man in his arms as his eyes belatedly widen, just before the two are sucked into a gigantic summoning circle. In mere seconds they’re gone and the dark, empty street is back to being silent and empty, as if no one was ever there.

A moment later three men step into the clearing from various shadows along the street.

“What just…?” One man shakily voices the question in all three’s mind.

“I have no idea.” Another answers.

“I’m reporting it to the boss.” The third replies, pulling out his cellphone.

It's a bit short but since it's the prologue I'll let it slide. The rest of the chapters will be double this at least. Either way, thanks for reading, I hope you enjoy!
