Now, I hate when authors post a story update as a chapter, but I don't really know a better option to get everyone's attention. But hey, I am not dead, nor have I abandoned this story!
"If that's the case, where are the updates!?"
... Is probably what most of you are thinking. And, fair, I know the frustration as a reader myself, so let me explain myself.
I ran into some troubles writing the new chapter, and I have a tendency to just... Get easily distracted and lose motivation when I run into a roadbump in my projects.
It also didn't help that not long after I found an alternative outlet for my creative energy, and spent a lot of time on that.
Well! I finally have some happy, though maybe not too exciting news. I feel that I've grown a lot as a writer (despite not actually releasing anything) since I started writing this story, so I'll be rewriting the story to fit my current standards.
That's... also part of why it took so long for me to do anything. I was stuck between 'keep going' and 'rewrite' for a while and just ended up doing neither.
But no more! I ended up taking a decision, and went with it!
Now, the question is; what to do with the old chapters? I've added a poll at the bottom for some feedback. You're of course also encouraged to share any thoughts in the comments.
Assuming all goes smooth, expect Chapter 0, and hopefully more, to come out a few days after this status report.
It would be nice to have a new story page, with another chapter posted to this one with a link to the new one. Also in the new chapter here have a notice saying that this version is officially done, that way any readers who come to check on it can go to the new version to add it to the list and know its safe to remove this one from reading lists or archive it as done/cancelled.

PAIN WHY DO ALL THE ENVY STORIES ENDDDDD
Honestly use this page to progress the rough draft, then do the Rewrite page for the edited version. That way you can jot down any inspirations you have, without worrying too much about how well it's written, while slowly updating the rewrite till it's caught up.
Just re start the story and just keeps storyline and character I like to see more of story
I have realised I maybe should've waited with this until after I was done moving, since it's taking a lot of my energy, so progress right now is slow
I also say you create a new story but keep this one. Just make sure to link the rewrite after you have it up on an update on this story & put like [Archived]/[Old] or something to the end of this story's title. That's what the author of The New Chimera did with their story when they did a rewrite.
While I understand that making a new story page for the new content can make it harder for the readers to find or adjust their reading page, I love being able to see the older versions of story's to see where they improved. As such Personally I find the easiest way to fix the issue is to make a new story page for the old content, and then make all the new stuff on this page it lets you keep all its attention and other stats while keeping the old content around. But thats just my take on it.
That makes a lot of sense actually. Might decide to go with this one.
I legitimately forgot this story existed, and remember like nothing about it so…I don’t really mind too much what happens. Other then a new story page because that means I’d need to go to that story, and then follow it (assuming I do decide to do so) and then remove this one from my reading list since it would be dead. Would be more effort and all that.
