I stood there for a minute, trying to process his question. He wants to be family with a golem and a bee. Why? How? What? Why? Let’s see how the Bee is handling thi- and it’s meditating on the adventurer’s heads. “Haha! It seems your buddy here is alright with me. As for you, I can tell you’re mulling over things like why, how, what, and why again.”

Can you read my mind?

“No, but your head tilt says a lot. In all seriousness, I have the title Friend of Monsters, so I can roughly understand monsters. You have an aura that just screams questions. Questions upon questions. Are you drowning under questions in that mind of yours?”

Friend of Monsters, what an interesting title. I guess it means I can trust him. He hasn’t attacked me yet. Speaking of attacking, why do adventurer’s attack monsters? Wouldn’t it be easier to sneak past them? They seem extremely stupid.

Speaking of monsters, I should really check Bee’s status page. It might’ve levelled up.

They did level up. Good on them. Still doesn’t answer the question as to how to level up, but Bee has gotten a new skill, maybe it’s related to that? Also, what’s up with the name? I know I call them Bee, but I didn’t know what to call them. Oh well, Bee it is then. Since I’m at it, I might as well look at my status and see the changes.

Looking good. Since I’m 7 levels behind the adventurer, maybe I’ll catch up to him sooner than later, except maybe in AGI. I should really fix my AGI problem or learn magic. How would a Golem learn magic? Better question, how does a Golem increase their AGI? Stretches? Can Golems even stretch? Might as well go over my new skills too.

Meditation

You meditate. HP, SP, and MP are regenerated at an increased rate whilst meditating.

I don’t have SP, I don’t know if this applies to DUR, and I can’t use magic. How is this useful? How did I get it? Is meditating all you really need to do to get it? Onto the next skill.

Assimilation

Cost: 5 MP.
Upon touching material that can substitute for your flesh, absorb it and regenerate HP based on how large the material was.

This wording makes it sound like humans can use the skill. That is a horrifying image I just conjured up in my head. Oh god, please take it out. Fortunately, this skill is much more straightforward for me, a Rock Golem. I just touch a rock, and it becomes part of me. I can’t seem to absorb more if I reach what I originally was, though. It costs MP, so I guess this is my first magic skill. I can use it 13 times… that’s a lot of healing. I wonder how much DUR I heal, though? I wasn’t paying attention during my fight with Bee.

“Hello? Oi, Golem, you in there? Is it always like this Bee?”

“Buzz.”

“I see, I see. How long will it take?”

“Buzz buzz.”

“Got it. Since you accepted me, do you think Golem will accept me?”

“Buzz buzz buzz.”

“Haha… I have no idea what you’re saying. Anyways, let’s get going.” From the corner of my eye, I could see the adventurer leave with Bee on his head. Wait, where are they going without me? I ran after them, then glared at the adventurer, hoping that would somehow make him understand I wanted to know where we were going. “We’re going to the Dungeon Core. I’ve got some business there, and I hear Dungeon Masters are supposed to give wishes to whoever reach them, whether they’re an adventurer or their own monster.”

A wish? I could use them. Maybe I could get fingers to read, or maybe a way to communicate. I could also wish for the answers to all my questions… but that seems boring. Wait… how did the old man know I wanted to know where we were going? “Anyone would ask where they were going if someone didn’t tell them. That and your glare. For someone with no eyes, your glare is quite stinging. By the way, my name is Ivest. I have a feeling you don’t call me that in your thoughts.”

Uwah! Is this man really reading my thoughts? It sure feels like it.

“You just seem simple. Always asking questions. I have a daughter like that.” A daughter? “I’m a married man. Took this job in a beginner dungeon, so my daughter didn’t have the chance at being fatherless.” If you have a daughter, why do you want monsters to be your family? Also, I’m not convinced this man can’t read my mind. Bee, help! Oh god, they’re still meditating on top of his head! “Anyways, we’re here.”

Here? Where? I look to see where we were and saw a large wooden door with a very intimidating skull painted on it. Is this the Dungeon Ma- “Nope, it’s the first-floor boss. If I remember, this Dungeon has 3 floors.” Oh. Just the boss. I wonder wha- “It’s a Vampire Zombie Bat, and I think I’ll have you and your Bee buddy fight it. You two should be more than enough.”

Oh great...
