Sorry I'm late, but here's this week's chapter, and then the next two chapters are extra chapters bought by Sakuradahl :D Thank you so much for completing the Kofi goal (by yourself. we stan you) and I'm sorry for being a bit late XD Editing 6 chapters has been a bit difficult for me.

There was only one chair in the throne room. It was the one King Maverick sat on. In this kingdom, the Queen didn’t take part in politics, so there was no chair for her. Therefore, when she went into the room, she saw Grey standing in front of the throne.

She thought he was going to sit there, and immediately berated him, “Just because His Majesty is sick, you think you are strong enough to take the throne?!”

“Whatever do you mean, Queen Meredith?” Grey looked over at her, but he wasn’t angry. He was expressionless. “I was only just standing in front of the throne.”

“Well, get away from it. When the King is not here, the one who gets to sit there is me.”

“Why don’t you wait for the Chamberlain to come before you sit down?”

“Is the Chamberlain nobler than I?”

She pushed Grey out of the way and sat down on the throne. She looked down at everyone who came in.

Grey was caught by Dean, so he didn’t fall. Well, he wasn’t really going to fall, but it didn’t hurt to rely on God System more.

“Thank you for catching me, Prime Minister Dean.”

Dean smiled. “You’re welcome.”

Queen Meredith looked over at Dean and Grey suspiciously before turning her attention to the other people coming in.

When everyone showed up, the old Chamberlain entered the throne room. He stood next to the throne and glanced at Queen Meredith who was sitting there, before turning away. It was better to say everything he needed to say first before confronting her…

“Thank you everyone for coming here today on such short notice,” Chamberlain Bernard said while solemnly looking at everyone.

The people who were here were the heads of each ministry, as well as the Prime Minister, the Knight Commander, and the heads of the noble families that were in the capital. They all came to the main castle within a couple of hours.

As for the members of the Royal family, all four princes were there as well as Consort Ceanna and Queen Meredith. King Maverick was the only one who didn’t attend, but everyone knew he was bedridden and was no longer able to move.

“I have called everyone here today to announce that His Majesty, King Maverick told me to read out his will.”

People wanted to gossip, but they could only look at each other before paying attention to Chamberlain Bernard.

They all stared at the will that was in Chamberlain Bernard’s hands.

“I hereby declare, in accordance with His Majesty, King Maverick Lux’s will, that the Crown Prince be His Highness, Prince Ameer Lux-”

Consort Ceanna cut off the Chamberlain, “Are you sure this is not fabricated?! To have a cursed Prince be the Crown Prince, is His Majesty out of his mind?!”

“Silence! Do you see this document? It was created by magic. The only people who can write on this will are His Majesty and me. With Prime Minister Dean as my witness, I wrote this will in accordance with His Majesty’s wishes. Are you saying that I fabricated this will against His Majesty’s wishes?!”

She gritted her teeth. “I understand that the will has not been fabricated, but are you saying that we should allow a cursed Prince to be the Crown Prince, and eventually rule this Kingdom?”

Earl Leanen, Consort Ceanna’s father, spoke up in her defense, “She is right, Chamberlain Bernard! How could we allow this Kingdom to be governed by someone who is cursed by the Gods?”

“Cursed? I will have you know, I’ve been cured of your little so-called curse,” Grey sneered as he looked down at Earl Leanen.

“Cured?! How is that possible? Even the Pope was unable to get rid of your curse!” Queen Meredith snapped. She couldn’t take this anymore. She would rather die than let Prince Ameer become King!

“Let me prove it to you.”

Everyone knew what Prince Ameer’s curse looked like. The mark of the curse had vines that were covered in thorns circling his arms, back, and chest. The young Ameer was made into a spectacle, a lesson that was taught to young nobles how not to be.

He took off his coat, which Dean grabbed for him. He then unbuttoned his shirt to show his bare chest. His skin was smooth, no longer littered with the thorny vines that plagued him since he was a child. He also pulled up his sleeves to show his arms.

“As you can see, I was able to get rid of this ‘curse’ with the help of an alchemist. This ‘curse’ was not given to me by the Gods, but was created with the help of alchemy!”

Most of the nobles in the room gasped. The only people who were not gasping were the ones who were on Queen Meredith’s and Consort Ceanna’s side.

Prince Ameer buttoned his shirt back up and pulled down his sleeves. “With regard to my ‘curse’, I’m sure Chamberlain and Prime Minister Dean can continue.”

“Of course, Your Highness, the Crown Prince.” Chamberlain Bernard gave a slight bow before continuing with the reading of the will, “This will also state that Prince Lawrence and Prince Tobias have been renounced from the throne. If they are to dare inherit the throne, Prime Minister Dean has been given the right to usurp the throne with His Majesty, King Maverick’s permission!”

Consort Ceanna collapsed onto the ground, her eyes were bloodshot red as she glared at the will and then at Grey. She wanted to scream and choke Grey but she knew she could not do that here. “Are they not the first and second-born sons of His Majesty? How could he take away their rights to the throne?!”

“They may be His Majesty’s sons, but they are also your sons.” Prime Minister Dean pulled out two documents. “What I have here are two documents sealed with magic. Consort Ceanna and Queen Meredith will be charged for their crimes of not only poisoning His Majesty but poisoning Consort Fiona that passed on the pseudo curse created using alchemy to Prince Ameer.”

“Not only that, we will charge them with the crime of killing my mother, Consort Gianna Lynn.” Noah said while standing next to Prime Minister Dean. In his hands was a similar document with a magic seal on it.

Queen Meredith stood up at once. She tried to grab the documents from Prime Minister Dean and Prince Noah, but they swiftly moved out of the way. “Where did you get those from?!”

“Lies! They are lying! Those documents have been fabricated by Prince Ameer!” Consort Ceanna shouted while trying to get off the ground.

Prince Lawrence and Prince Tobias rushed over to help her up, but she slapped their hands away the moment she got on her feet.

Prince Lawrence could not stay quiet a moment longer. “How dare you slander your mothers when we have raised you for so long?”

“Raised? You killed our mothers and sent Ameer to the battlefield when he was only 14 because you wanted him to die. His curse couldn’t kill him so you thought he would die at the hands of the enemy! How dare you say Consort Ceanna and Queen Meredith raised us?!” Noah was about to pull out his sword, but he was stopped by Grey.

Grey shook his head. It wasn’t the time yet.

“Prince Noah, did I not adopt you though you decided you wanted to go follow Prince Ameer to the battlefield?”

“The moment I showed support for Ameer, you took back your adoption. I didn’t want to be adopted by you anyway. You killed my mother and you have the audacity to take in the son of the person you killed?!”

“You slander me! I did not kill your mother. Everyone knows she died during childbirth.”

A noble whispered, “Yeah, didn’t she die during childbirth?”

“It’s pretty common for young women to die due to birth complications,” The noble next to him responded.

“Complications? Then why must you poison my mother after she gives birth? Is this not your signature? Is this not Consort Ceanna’s signature in this document? Or in the other documents that Prime Minister Dean is holding?!”

“His Majesty the King has also verified the legitimacy of these documents.” Prime Minister Dean scoffed at hearing Consort Ceanna and Queen Meredith trying to justify their innocence.

“His Majesty used to be healthy, but his health declined quickly under Consort Ceanna’s care.” Chamberlain Bernard was the one who stood by King Maverick’s side the longest. He knew King Maverick’s health better than anyone in the room.

“After poisoning His Majesty, do you not feel any guilt?”

“Guilt?” Consort Ceanna finally snapped and showed her true colors. “Am I supposed to feel guilty for the man who promised to love me and take care of me? Am I supposed to feel guilt for the man who looks at other young women with lustful eyes when he has me?!”

She had officially lost her mind. She no longer cared about what she looked like. Her hair was a mess, her dress was dirty and wrinkled from sitting on the ground, and her eyes were bloodshot red.

“Ceanna, be quiet!” Queen Meredith shouted. If she let Consort Ceanna continue, how could she get away with this? She then scanned across the audience to make sure they were looking at her. “Everyone knows that Prince Ameer was cursed by the Gods, that Consort Fiona was executed for giving birth to him, that Consort Gianna died after childbirth, and His Majesty is terminally ill. These are the facts. Those documents were forged so that Prince Ameer could become King!”

“Do you all not see that he has been eying the throne since entering the military? With his military achievements, he has gained the support of the common folk and the military. What makes you think he wouldn’t raise a rebellion if this plan of his does not go his way!?”

What she said sounded logical to some, but everyone knew, with it all listed out like so, that it couldn’t be a coincidence that all of these events happened the moment King Maverick fell in love with Consort Fiona.

Everyone knew that Queen Meredith and Consort Ceanna felt threatened by the young and beautiful Consort Fiona. Queen Meredith was infertile while Consort Ceanna had two sons.

If Consort Fiona or Consort Gianna gave birth to sons, it would threaten Prince Lawrence and Prince Tobias’ chances of inheriting the throne.

It was clear to see, with the death of Consort Fiona and Consort Gianna, that they were threatened by them. Especially when they gave birth to sons.

“I have no intention of causing a rebellion. The only thing I want is to avenge my mother and Consort Gianna. They were innocent young women who were pulled into the internal struggles of the Royal family!” Grey finally said after listening to all the excuses Queen Meredith and Consort Ceanna conjured up.

“You and Consort Ceanna must be punished for murdering two innocent women and poisoning His Majesty the King!”

Queen Meredith saw no one moving to help her, not even her father could help her in this situation. So she laughed. She laughed so hard, her eyes seemingly popped out a little, and her voice became hoarse. She didn’t care though. She thought this whole situation was stupid.

Then she snapped her fingers. It seemed off given the situation, so no one understood why she did so.

“I don’t know how you got those documents, but since it’s come to this…” She sat down on the throne, looking down on everyone.

“I already sent out a signal to my men. King Maverick should be dead by now.” Her face became distorted with her sneer. Her eyes were deranged, showing her true side.

What she hated the most, was not getting her way. Even if she had to sacrifice her own life, she would make sure that everything went her way.

“Insolence!” Chamberlain Bernard shouted.

“Chamberlain Bernard, you should check on His Majesty, Crown Prince Ameer and I will handle the rest.” He was given the will by Chamberlain Bernard. The old Chamberlain quickly ran out, not forgetting to glare at Queen Meredith and Consort Ceanna on his way out...

Grey stood by Dean’s side. “Guards! Arrest Queen Meredith and Consort Ceanna for the murder of Consort Fiona, and Consort Gianna, and the poisoning of His Majesty, King Maverick!”

The knights standing on guard quickly came forward. Even Noah unsheathed his sword. He wasn’t going to kill Queen Meredith and Consort Ceanna, but he knew that he had to protect Grey at this moment.

Not only did the guards come in, but even Queen Meredith and her father, Duke Ross’ men also came in. He had his own knights that he trained himself. He was amassing an army of his own. What he was doing with them was something only he knew.

In the history books, this marked the beginning of a new era in the Euluxos Kingdom.

kuro_kama: Personally, this arc makes me feel so hateful. The most hateful one is that King Maverick. I do understand the tradition of keeping a harem in olden days by the Kings but he can’t even manage his harem how did he even manage a kingdom. I know managing a harem and kingdom are two different things but I am just finding excuses to hate Maverick. If I hate someone, even their name is enough to piss me off. Not to mention he is neither a good husband nor a good father.

Grandpa Marky: Hello my grandchildren. I'm tired. I will be getting an MRI of my spine on the 26th. I don't have any hopes for that showing anything wrong with me. I do hope my doctor understands it's probably the low-lying cerebellar tonsils. Yeah, health problems are crazy so please be patient with me :D Also, enjoy the next two chapters that are paid for heehee. See y'all then!
