When Grey and Cyan stepped out of the building, many eyes were facing them. Most of the people in the plaza were those who worked or lived in the city. Those living in the city were single or widowed. As for those who lived in the suburbs, they were all families and married couples.

Despite the number of people, everyone was quiet. There was no chaotic yelling, screaming, or moving. They were all standing in the plaza close to one another so that there was room for other people.

That made it a lot easier to organize them.

Grey turned to the other City Hall workers who followed him out. The total number of people working there was 35, so he decided to split them up into five groups of seven.

He gave them instructions to make sure to use their holophones to calculate the number of people in their section and that they were to do their best not to exceed 2000 people.

The City Hall workers scrambled to their spots and immediately got to work. Thankfully, even the people who just entered the plaza knew what to do and went into one of the 5 groups.

It took about 2 hours for almost ten thousand people to be split into 5 groups.

Grey was holding a microphone used for events in the town square so he could talk with everyone.

“Now that everyone is here, I will be taking down the forcefield. Do not be scared with the spacecrafts coming down. Parents, hold on to your children and do not let them run. Do not panic and follow the soldiers to where you are supposed to go.”

“Does everyone understand?”

“Yes sir!” The crowd instinctively shouted.

Grey nodded. ‘System 225, please take down the forcefield and let General Kai know that he and his men can come in. Be sure to remind them where to land.’

[Understood, Grey!]

At Grey’s cue, the forcefield began to disappear starting from the top. The forcefield that was usually hidden from the naked eye showed up with a triangle pattern. It slowly trickled downward, disappearing as it moved downward.

The air that came in was different from the artificial air that was being generated. It seemed fresh and crisp. The smell of a forest wafted throughout the city.

That bubble that surrounded the city not only kept people from coming in and out, but also kept the environment from the outside from coming in. Birds soared through the city, the sound of bugs chirped, and even the wind traveled through the buildings and trees.

The seemingly perfect world XU239 was confined in began to burst with life.

Everyone except for Grey and Cyan, looked around, bewildered with what their senses were picking up.

None of them have ever felt the wind in their hair or the humidity on their skins. No one had ever heard the sounds of birds chirping or the buzzing of insects. It was almost as if they all stepped into a new world, one full of mystery and wonder.

Everyone looked up at the blue sky and saw clouds for the first time. In their view, they saw the large spacecrafts coming closer to their city.

It only took a few minutes for the spacecrafts to land.

Grey spoke into the microphone once more. “Stay in your groups and follow the soldiers to your designated spacecrafts! Do not push or shove, everyone will be able to go inside.”

Thankfully, everyone was quite disciplined and no one made trouble.

When 75% of the group was in the spacecraft, a blaring alarm resounded throughout the city.

{WARNING! THE FORCEFIELD HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN. UNABLE TO REACTIVATE. ACTIVATING EXPLOSIVES IN 10 MINUTES. STARTING COUNTDOWN…}

{WARNING! THE FORCEFIELD HAS… … …}

The alarm sounded three times and a large red timer showed up in the sky. It was counting down to zero.

Grey was a bit nervous. It took 30 minutes for most of the citizens to get in the spacecraft so they should have time, but if people panicked, it may make everything worse.

“Do not panic, everyone! Keep going at a uniform pace. We will make it.”

True to his words, almost everyone made it into a spacecraft, so Cyan and Grey began to move toward a spacecraft. It was the closest one to them.

Just as Grey and Cyan were about to board the ship, there were about two minutes left. That was when they heard a shout.

A child ran back to the place near their parents’ car to get something and was coming back after grabbing it. Their parents were nowhere to be found. The child fell, dropping a few toys that they wanted to bring with them.

The child was crying because they twisted their ankle and could not move their leg without pain.

By that time, everyone else but Grey and Cyan was in the spacecraft.

Grey hesitated, but he made up his mind. He could make it in time.

“Cyan, you go in first. I will let General Kai know.” As he said this, he already took out the mecha cube from the last interstellar universe they were in. “I will make it in time.”

“I’m going too.” Cyan took out his mecha that Grey gave him beforehand.

System 225 already contacted Kai on what was going on and the spacecrafts closed their doors and began ascending to get out of the area. They moved into the space surrounding the planet, safe from the explosion. Many people, including General Kai, were worried about Grey and Cyan who went into their mechas to save a child.

Grey quickly moved the mecha toward the young child. Though the kid was scared, he did not have time to comfort the child. He picked up the child as best he could and headed out of the city.

Cyan found a family running toward the plaza, picked them up, and followed as quickly as he could. It was a family of three who got rear-ended by the rush of people. Luckily, Cyan found them in time.

The time was ticking. They had less than a minute.

Grey and Cyan could not go into space because the four people they saved did not have any protective equipment. They decided to leave the city and fly as far as they could and what their fuel would allow them to.

Luckily, their mechas were pretty high-tech. They left the city and were far away enough to not be impacted by the explosion.

When the giant countdown in the sky had less than five seconds, the alarm resounded again as if to remind the people of the impending doom that was coming…

“INITIATING EXPLOSIONS IN 3. 2. 1. 0.”

A series of loud booms resounded throughout the planet.

Grey and Cyan had their backs to the explosion, doing their best to protect the people in their arms. They could feel a bit of the shock wave from the explosion, but luckily, their mechas were able to withstand the impact.

The people in their arms were safe, though scared.

Grey turned around and saw nothing but a crater. There were no signs of life in the city they had been living in for months. Not even a single building was left behind.

They couldn’t even find the ashes of those who had decided to stay in the city while everyone else fled to the spacecrafts.

“The absolute disregard for living beings, for people with feelings, hopes, dreams and aspirations… How cruel,” Grey couldn’t help but mutter to himself.

After going world to world to even different universes, he realized that where there were kind and loving people, there would always be people who were horrific and inhumane.

Still, he knew he could not dwell on that. There were good people out there. There was always hope.

Yet it was still sad to see the cruelty that people had in their hearts.

“Valen, are you okay?” Cyan asked worryingly. He knew that Grey was too empathic for his own good. To the point that it deeply affected him.

It was frustrating that he could not share all of his burdens and heartaches. He could only be there to comfort him.

“I am okay… We did what we could. I knew we could not save everyone, but it still makes my heart ache. We can’t dwell on that though. We have the lives of many others with us… So let’s go. There’s no point in staying here any longer when we can rebuild our city once more.”

Grey took a deep breath. “Cities can be rebuilt, but people can’t be brought back to life…”

The people outside of the mechas could not hear him, but they were just as devastated to see the destruction the “Scientists” and the “Lord” brought to them.

Minutes later, one spacecraft hovered nearby. It was the one General Kai was in.

[Grey, General Kai is requesting a video call.]

‘I understand. Please connect him, System 225.’

A video call was established between him and General Kai.

“It’s a relief to see you are okay. You scared us all with your little stunt.” General Kai sighed with relief seeing Grey alive and well.

Grey felt a little bad. “I apologize but I couldn’t just let those innocent people die…”

“No worries. You saved them and you are alive and well, so that’s good. I’m going to open the spacecraft for you. I assume you are able to go in without assistance right?”

“Of course. Thank you, General Kai, for the help.”

Grey and Cyan made their way into the spacecraft and finally let the people they saved go back to their family and friends.

The families and the young boy thanked them profusely and then left to join the other citizens on the ship.

General Kai also met up with them and met them for the first time. When Kai saw Grey, his breath was almost taken away. He had seen a lot of Omegas, but Grey was definitely one of the more beautiful ones, probably the most beautiful Omega he had seen so far. He felt that every video chat they did actually lessened his beauty…

Grey’s slightly curled hair was fluffy and soft. He kept his hair short, but it complimented his face well. He also had light brown eyes that seemed to turn gold when light reflected on them. He looked cold and serious, contrary to his pretty and soft appearance.

Cyan felt that Kai’s eyes were looking at Grey with indescribable intentions, so he gently put his hand on Grey’s waist and brought him close.

This world was full of Alphas and some were extremely aggressive, even trying to take away mates from other Alphas. There was no way in hell he would let anyone hit on Grey! It was one thing if Alphas were civil, but many were not… He trusted Grey but not the other Alphas… He didn’t even trust betas!

Kai coughed in embarrassment when he noticed Cyan’s reaction. “I apologize for making you two uneasy. I was just a bit startled to see that Valen and Cyan were much more good-looking up close…” He did his best to save himself and turned away from them.

“Anyway, come with me. I’ll take you two to the control room. Marshal Dawn wants to talk with you both.”

kuro_kama: I don’t remember whether Kai and Elio have Omegas but I ship those two! Anyone else?

Grandpa Marky: General Kai is a beta and Marshal Elio is an Alpha! I can ship it. Do y'all want an extra on these two? Heehee. Also, y'all, I love two weeks ago Mark because Mark from two weeks ago edited the entirety of Arc 12 so that today's Mark can post chapters without editing. Don't we love that! I feel so much better now though so updates will resume normally (unless people decide to fill the Ko-Fi goal).

Anyway, that's it from me! I will see you all next week :D Two more chapters to go. Have a wonderful day/night my beautiful grandchildren! <3
