6 year old (March-SY102)

It's already over one month since I am studying in this academy.

This is my typical day here.

I wake up at around 7 to 8, but I won't get up later than 8 because mom would always wake me up otherwise.

If I get up a bit early, I would go back reading usually continuing last night reading or browsing some mecha discussion forum site until 8.

"Hmm... the machine learning system in this world while basically similar but seems quite a bit more varied and more refined than the previous world. Well I guess that's future earth for you."

At 8 I will go to bathroom to take a bath. After a refreshing bath as well as dressing myself, I would have a breakfast. Then...

*ding dong*

*ku-chack*

*thud thud thud*

Sound of someone running in the house can be heard.

"Se~na~"

Someone suddenly hugging me from behind and rubbing her cheek against mine.

"R-reo, stop it, I'm still eating."

"So~?" Hehe~"

*snuggle snuggle*

"Please stop suddenly holding people like this. It might be bothering them."

I don't know if it's because of her young age, but Reo does not seem to have sense of personal space at all.

"Eh~ it's fine. It's only Sena after all. So I will only bothering Sena~"

W-well at least she does not seem to do it to just about anybody. So she won't be bothering other people. Thankfully.

"Reo, do you want to have a breakfast too?" asked mom.

"Un~ Please, Big Sis."

Like that Reo would always have her breakfast here. Even though her house private chef probably cooks much more lavishly. When asked, she would say something along the line of "Big Sis cooking is much more delicious!" Well, maybe they need to hire new cook?

After having breakfast we go to the school together. Since to the academy is only a walking distance from my home, we would go walking together towards the academy. Reo herself goes to my house using her car though. It feels a bit strange at times, why would you not go straight to school.

"Muuu~ Sena, don't read while walking. You will hit a wall you know."

"I won't. I'm already used to this road after all." I replied with my eyes still glued to the ebook.

"Sigh, it can't be helped. Don't blame me if you really hit a wall okay? ...eh Sena wait"

Suddenly Reo hold my hand, stopping me from walking further.

"Huh??"

Suddenly a bicycle quickly zipped past in front of me.

"See. This is why I can't take off my eyes of Sena. Always walking forward without knowing if it's dangerous in front..."

"Un. Sorry."

"Sigh~ it can't be helped. Then I will always hold Sena's hand, so you won't hit a wall or get hit by anything dangerous. So, Sena, don't worry and just walk forward. Okay~?" She said with her ruby colored eyes looking deep at me.

"Un" I just nod meekly. What was that, it sounded heavier than what it literally means.

...

"Why is Sena always reading something so hard. What is this...? Limitss in New..nuu...noo...new-.... ?"

"Limits in Neuronal Logics"

"Limit in New-ronal Logic. Uwah... what are these wiggly things? Worm?"

"That is Hansley-Ulami diagram"

"Hands or Wormy or whatever, something like this, why Sena always read something like this even though he is so small I wonder. Is it fun?"

"Fun...? I have never thought about it. Maybe it is, maybe it is not. Maybe it's more like 'interesting' ?"

"It is interesting? Really? These wiggly wiggle wormy thingie are? Ah but it's true, they look funny! So interesting~ ahaha~"

Originally it was my bad habit from the past life of reading random technical things even though I don't always really understand whatever it is. At first, it was maybe because I wanted to look cool to my peers for knowing more, but as time went on, it became a bad habit. On the plus side, I learnt that, I actually learn lot much more from reading something I don't really understand even though it may not seem so at first.

To sum it up in a single sentence: You are not learning anything if you don't feel stupid.

"Reo! Sena!" A long haired blonde girl shouting out at us.

"Ah, Vivi! Mari too! Good morning~" Reo greets our two classmates.

"Morning~"

"Good morning, Reo. Sena too, good morning." another blonde girl but with paler color and twintail greet us this time.

"Un, morning."

Often on the way to academy we would meet our classmates like this. Since I'm basically always focused in reading on the way school and home with occasional interruption from Reo, both of them always end up becoming Reo's new chatting partners.

"Vivi, Mari, here look. Sena is looking at something strange again. Especially this wiggly wiggle wormy thingie. It looks funny."

"Pfft! What is this something that looks like worm but not really like a worm?"

*giggle* "Ah, I'm sorry."

Even the one closest to being a proper lady, Mari, giggle at the diagram. Is it really that funny?

"Ah, by the way, today [afterclass]. It's in Ms. Greta's cafe is it?" Mari quickly shifted the topic.

Afterclass is a class held after hour 9-12 periods. Though not everyday, there is quite a lot of them, at least for me. These classes usually teach outside of main academic program.

Since I have club activities, and also attending affiliate college courses, sometime I miss one of three of them.

"Yup. It's in teach's cafe." said Vivi.

Last time it was cooking class, but this time in cafe? Is it cooking for cafe menu class this time?

"Muuu~ will it be cooking again? Cooking is hard." Reo asked.

As usual she somehow always manage to ask the question I wanted to ask first.

"It's not that hard. You just have to follow the recipe, Reo. Also today class is not cooking. It's part-time job in Ms. Greta's cafe."

"Party time job? What's that~? It sounds so fun, Mari~"

"Ahahaha, it will be fun. But it's not like how Reo thinking of at all."

"Then how it is like, Vivi?"

"Reo, you see. Today afterclass is working at Ms. Greta's cafe. Only some people will be in the kitchen. Others would be asked to be waiter or waitress, others would be doing the dishwashing or cleaning." Mari replied to Reo's question.

"Oh, then I want to be waitress~! And Sena will be the Mr. Customer. Hehe~ I will provide feeding service too~"

*Giggle* "Reo, everyone will be working this time. So Sena too. Don't just doze off in reading. Please earnestly work hard, okay?"

"Un"

...

Arriving in the class we greet some of other classmates already inside.

"Yo, Sena. Morning."

"Morning, Ben."

Bentrami Allison or Ben, is like the commander among the boys in class. He usually take command in anything involving physical activities.

"Catch."

"Huh??"

Clumsily I tried to catch a soccer ball Ben threw at me. I failed miserably though, the ball fly behind me.

*catch*

"Ahaha~ are we playing catching ball today?"

"Good catch, Reo." praise Ben

"Hey! Ben, stop playing ball in the classroom. Please go outside if you want to play with that. What if it hit the aquarium."

"Geh, Vivi is too strict. Let's go everyone!"

Together with other boys, Ben go outside the class towards the academy ground.

"Sena, want to go too?" asked Ben stopping in front of me.

"I pass, it's too hot outside. It will tire me out. Also it's really hot outside."

"Heh, as usual. You are as lazy as always. If you don't play enough you won't grow up you know. You will stay short."

"Really...?"

"Of course. That's what my pa said. So it can't be wrong."

Well parents do have more knowledge than their kids. But it's not like they always get it right.

"Ah, so that's why Sena is so short." Reo responding to the dubious statement.

"Hey, we are only few centimeters apart!"

"But Sena still looks so short to me. Sena let's go together, so you can grow properly." Reo said while pulling me outside the class without giving any time for rejection.

At least let's put down our bags first.

...

During class. It's a math class. But because the material is just too easy for me, I just read ebook by myself. Of course I try not to be too obvious with it.

"Okay, Mr Rayfield. Can you answer this?"

*nudge nudge*

"Huh??"

"Sena, the teacher pointing at you." Reo sitting next to me whispering.

"Eh?"

"Just solve the problems in the blackboards." said Reo while smiling somewhat mischievously.

I nod at the teacher.

Then I stand up and walk towards the blackboards and start doing all the problems written on them.

After a while.

"Ehrm. It's good that you are so eager. But you are supposed to only solve one of them. Like this there is nothing for the other kids to work on."

"E-eh? I'm sorry, Sir." I slightly bow to apologize. I see that Reo is giggling, probably happy she won't have to do the problem. She tricked me.

"Oh well, it's fine. I see that you are already too advanced for this class. How about I give you different problems for you to work on in class?"

"Please don't, Sir. I want to read by myself more instead."

"Haha, how honest. I like honest kids like you. Okay, as long as you don't bother the other kids I will let you off."

Thankfully most teachers in this academy are quite understanding.

"Though, I hope you at least would help your classmates studying. For example, that girl that always sits next to you." The math teacher said while not so subtly looking at Reo.

"Ach, Teach?!! I already study a lot. Please don't give me more homework.." protest Reo half-crying.

"Alright, Miss Leyford. You have special homework due next week. Please do the problem sets on page 30 to 31 of the workbook. If you have questions, please ask your private tutor." Said the teacher while holding both my shoulders from behind.

"Hehe, I can just ask Sena to solve them. Right, Sena?"

"Mr Rayfield, please properly watch over your student. I will fail you in this class if you solve the problem sets on her behalf."

"Yes, Sir."

"Seenaaa~!" delighted at hearing the shriek of despair I sit back down on my seat.

Similarly for the science class, in exchange for free reading time in-class, I'm told to privately tutor Reo. We usually do it on free time. Though sometime, Reo would come to my home quite early and waking me up to help her with the homework due the day.

It's not like she is stupid or incapable academically. In fact compared to others of similar age, she is actually pretty decent. It's just, somehow, unluckily for her, the level in this class is slightly a bit higher for her. Gabriel class happened to be a class full of smart kids.

I'm only a bit above other kids for the other 2 classes though (English and social study), so I actually do concentrate in those classes.

...

A little after noon, after the last 9-12 class ended, I'm going to the club room.

"Don't forget afterclass at 13 later okay~?" Reo reminding me before leaving the class.

"Okay~"

...

In the club room.

"Ah, Sena, you finally come. Can you help me readjusting the simulator?"

"I don't have much time today though, Pres. I have afterclass at 13."

"Is that so? Well just help me with one machine then."

"Sure."

Since there is afterclass today, I have no time to practice in the simulator either.

After about 20 minutes in the club workshop working on the simulator, I eat my boxed lunch before going back to the classroom to take a short shower. Though there are few public showers spread around the academy, there is actually a single-person shower in each classroom. The same goes for toilets, except there are two toilets per class.

So I go back to the classroom to take a short shower and preparing for afterclass.

...or so I thought.

"Huh, Reo. You are still in class?"

"Yup, I tried to do some of the homework."

How diligent. Though she is behind now, it might not be too long before she catch up with the rest of the class.

"By the way, Sena are you going to take a shower too?"

"Un"

"Then let's take a shower together~" suddenly I got dragged by Reo into the shower room.

"W-wha--"

Is this kid wrong in the head?!!

"Wait, stop stop!!"

"mnn?"

"We can't."

"Can't?"

"We can't take a shower together."

"Why?"

"Just can't."

"Muuu~ that's unreasonable. Sena being unusually unreasonable."

You are the one being unreasonable!!

"It can't be helped."

"Eh?"

Suddenly I got pulled hard and thrown into the shower room. Hearing a click I shudder.

"Hehe~ there is no running away~"

"N-nooooo!!"

...

"Ugu... I can't get married anymore..."

"It's fine~ I will marry Sena if no one else wants to."

...

"Ugu..."

"What's wrong with him?"

"Sena is just being unusually unreasonable. Just ignore him."

"Oh, okay."

...

"Okay everyone~ are you all prepared?"

"Yeah~~" shout most of the kids.

"Have you all take your shower or bath?"

"Yeah~~"

"Then let's go~"

"Yeess~~"

We follows Ms. Greta lead to go to her cafe. On the way there, Ms. Greta also teaches us how to use the MRT. Though there was separate afterclass teaching us how to use public transport system before. Ms. Greta seems eager to remind us how it all works in practice.

By the way, there are various public transportation systems in Leyford City.

For short distance, people are encouraged to use bicycle. So there are quite a lot of public bicycle parks spread around the city.

Then there are self-driving taxis for medium distance journey.

For a little bit long journey, there is MRT train with rails both underground and rails floating several meters above the ground level called sky rail. The MRT also serves as the main transportation system between Leyford Island and several islands around it. Though there are also ferries for that, it's mostly used for tourism purpose.

Private motorized vehicle usage is discouraged in the city. You need to pay hefty sum and probably go through unnecessarily complicated administrative hassles to use one. So most people here don't have garage, even if they have one, it's probably used for bicycle mostly.

Of course there are exceptions, some super rich and powerful people in the city will have one or several more cars. For example, like certain girl from super rich and super powerful family.

"Hmm? Is there something on my face, Sena?" Reo asked

"Unn~" *shake shake*

Not a long walk from the MRT station we see a big sign of 'Sugary N Spicened Sweets', uh I guess they serve sweets here.

"Here it is, welcome to Teach's SSS cafe."

"Vivi, it's 'Sugary N Spicened Sweets' cafe."

"But, it's too long. Let's just call it SSS."

"Sigh... I really should change the name huh..."

"Unn~" *shake shake* "Please don't, Teach. It is good as it is."

"But isn't it too long?"

"That's part of the charms."

Arriving in the cafe, we change to uniforms prepared by Ms. Greta beforehand.

...

"Sena, can you clean table 7?"

"Un"

"R-reo be careful with the dish.. Don't be too rough..."

"Yes yes~"

"Haha, it's that day of the month again huh, Miss?"

"Yes, Sir."

"They are cute little helpers."

"Yes, they are my cute students."

"Here is your black coffee, Sir."

"Ohoho, thank you very much, Young Man."

"Then, excuse me."

"Wait."

"Yes, do you need something else, Sir?"

"Here."

"Huh... this is?"

"You can use it to treat everyone. Or anything really. It's my tip."

"Un. Thank you very much, Sir."

Though working in the cafe do constitute a learning experience, I wonder if Ms. Greta isn't breaking any labor laws for employing minors. I hope it's alright. In the first place I never learn about the labor law on this Earth so it might be pretty different. Maybe I should read later.

After break here and there, the time shown it's already 15 in the afternoon. Ms. Greta then guide us back to the academy. Some kids will be picked up there. While others will walk home. Me and Reo walk back to my house.

Back in my house after washing face, Reo start doing her homework with me watching and tutoring while reading my own ebook.

"Ahh!! Too many homework. I need a recharge!"

*hug* *snuggle snuggle*

"Hehe~"

*pat pat*

Being snuggled, I pat Reo to help her recharge faster so she can get off of me quicker.

"Mnnn~ hehe~" *snuggle*

"Isn't it enough? Get back to work."

"Eh~ Let's stop for today~ I already done half of them."

"Here and here, it's wrong. You only did correctly on half of them."

"Eh, then I got it all right? What is wrong?"

"I mean, you only did half of what you did right."

"Guweee~~ Senaaaa~! Help!!"

"Haaa...... Fine, just redo the wrong ones. I will help you with the last half."

"Ugu... thank youuuu!!"

"Yes yes, now get off or I can't do them."

"Un. Thank you."

Like that, I ended up doing her homework too. Well, it's not like the teacher will get angry with her effort. I guess I can let her off a bit.

...

"..."

"Sigh..."

She fell asleep. It can't be helped, she did work hard too in the cafe after all.

Taking a blanket from my bed and putting it over her, I quickly finished half of Reo's homework and back to reading again.

Before long, Reo's mom come in car and carry her back home.

"Yawn~"

I guess I feel sleepy too. So I take a nap, mom will wake me up right before dinner.

At 19 in the evening I was awaken from my nap to have dinner.

During dinner, we three have dinner together as family.

We three, yes, including Dad.

It just happens that the time in The Little Jupiter colony is adjusted to that of Leyford City.

Using a communication program from a computer projected into big screen in the dining room, we have a long-distance dining together as a family. Me and Mom on Earth while Dad in the colony. At first, it felt a bit strange, but I guess you can get used to practically anything if you do it everyday.

We three take quite a bit of long time sitting in the dining room. Mostly half an hour. Most of the time is spent in family talk though. Like how my school life is, how miserable is Dad in colony alone, and so on.

We don't do it for the breakfast though, because Dad quite often miss breakfast time. It's either going to work too early or oversleeping.

Finishing up with the dinner, I return to my room. Sometime doing prototyping, sometime playing with my computer, some other times chatting in MECHA or electromechanics forums I frequent.

Huh? Homework?

I usually manage to finish them quickly during the day. Today too, I did my homework quickly during free time, mainly while Reo was doing her homework before. So evening till the time I sleep is totally my free time.

When it's 22 late in the evening. I turn off the light since mom will scold me if I don't. Though usually I still continue reading until a bit later before sleeping.

And that's how my typical day is. While there are some atypical parts here and there, it's how my general and typical day to be. Of course those atypical parts itself represent new things everyday.
