Frank Noel couldn’t help but somewhat sneak a look at the bird as they left the room. Why would they have to leave the room hastily? It wasn’t quite right.

Nevertheless, he had no plan to pursue it at least right now. Frank Noel carried on being indifferent as leading the way back to the room.

He believed it wasn’t the right time yet to alert the bird since he was just an observer. He might have to spend more them with them, it would be a nuisance if they raised their guard even more. He still didn’t get, why the duke ordered him to become a babysitter.

On the way back to their room, the bird and Moonlit kept on being mute.

Admittedly, Moonlit’s mind was a bit chaotic, he had a lot of questions to ask Venta, and one of them was the same as Sir. Frank Noel. The other question that he wanted to ask, how was the young pink-haired lady recovering. Is it related to Venta’s magic? Or it was something else?

Despite that, when he made eye contact briefly with Venta, he noticed immediately, that his question wouldn’t be able to receive any answerback, at least during the presence of Sir. Frank Noel. Moreover, Venta, with pleading eyes, mouthing to him to W-A-I-T. Since Venta wanted him to wait then he would agree to do so.

In Venta’s mind was ten times worse than Moonlit. He was busy praying a thousand times to make Frank Noel don’t question him. As they left the room, when he felt Frank Noel’s gaze on him, his small heart was beating speedily, and he broke into a cold sweat.

As he prayed and prayed, somehow, luckily, Frank Noel didn’t ask him anything.

Venta finally could breathe a bit smoother.

Frank Noel said passively:

“Here we are, arrived. Sir. Moon, If you need anything, please tell the maid, they will prepare it for you, Sir”

Moonlit with a smile:

“Thank you, Sir.Noel”

Frank Noel said without changing his stoic face:

“You’re welcome, Sir. Moon and I really look forward to the solution that your bird comes up with”

Frank said with a smile that not smiling, the two colored eyes that glared at Venta were awfully cold enough to send a chill down Venta’s spine.

Bird surpassed the chilling sensation, he tried to appear strong as he replied to Frank Noel without moving his eyes away, “Of course! And please give me detailed information about the poison as much as you can”

Frank Noel squinted his eye a bit then his stoic face returned, he said indifferently: “Understand. I will let R.C deliver it to you soon therefore if there’s nothing else, I shall take my leave”

Moonlit prompted at the bird sneakily to see if Venta that staying on his shoulder needed to add anything else then what he saw was the bird seemed to lose its attention to somewhere else.

“…”, Moonlit turned back to Frank Noel then said with a gentle smile mixed a bit with an apologized tone, “Thank you, Sir. Noel for your guidance and please have a good rest”

Frank Noel bowed respectfully then turned around to walk out of the door. He left decisively like he couldn’t wait for another second to leave the room ( ̄_ ̄).

Well, he had been known as a wild beast <<Unrestrained Rhinoceros>>, it suited him very much (¬‿¬), and staying with them must be too boring and bothersome for him.

Venta felt relieved and alive from the bottom of his heart as Frank Noel was out of sight.

Moonlit asked cautiously: “Venta…what’s going on?”

As the bird heard a gentle questioning voice from Moonlit, Venta knew without any delay that Moonlit worried about him hence he answered carefully:

“Sit down first, I will explain everything to you, don’t worry, however, it would be best if you could wait a bit more after we’re done overlook the detail of poison information since I need to confirm something first”

Moonlit said with a concerning voice:

“Is everything okay?”

Venta tried very hard to remain composed, he replied confidently:

“Yes, surely”, only the bird itself knew how nervous it was right now.

Moonlit sensed something off about the baby bird but he held himself back and waited patiently as Venta suggested.

They sat down for about 5 minutes, there was a knock on the door then a young man with brown hair and fickle on the cheek came to them with a small mountain of documents.

R.C said with a youthful voice, he bowed gracefully: “Greeting, Prince Moonlit, I have prepared all available documents about poison as you requested, I hope it could be some help”

Venta couldn’t help but give R.C. a few glances. The boy may have an ordinary look, yet when the boy smiled, it showed the dimple on his left cheek which was very attractive, and it helped to present him as a sunshine and likable boy.

Moonlit and Venta hurried to grab the document to read after the boy left the room. Venta told Moonlit some key points to look into, the time was getting shorter as well as the life. They had to rush.

Venta felt concerned that he may not understand this continent's language. He would have to entirely rely on Moonlit. But it turned out to be pointless uneasiness, he understood everything smoothly like he had an automatic translation machine in his brain. It was wonderful!

What they have been searching on the document was the symptoms, how it was treated before, and the chance of survival so far. It would be great if they could find an antidote.

Needless to say, it’s impossible. Because in the novel, the author really didn’t focus much on the cure of poison, there was no development of the antidote in the whole story. How disappointing! That’s why the bird felt so burdensome.

It was no joke to handle live and dead in your hands. PRESSURE!

Well, dead wasn’t a big deal, he was quite familiar with it, the pressure part was bringing people that half a step in hell back to life. How challenging!

20 minutes passed...
All they could find so far was the fuc**** name of poison. People here, called this poison <<Life Slayer Poison>>, well, it did fit. This son of a bit** poison was truly terrifying as it took life away without any argument (I want your life, I take it), kind of vibe.

Venta was sobbing (╥﹏╥) while looking at Moonlit. Moonlit felt helpless toward the pitiful and adorable bird. He took the small bird onto his palm and then patted its 3 ocean blue hair lovingly. Moonlit said softly without stopping patting the bird:

“Now, could you tell what’s going on? Venta”

The bird felt so tickled with the Moonlit voice, it was so sweet and melodic. It was too good to be true.

“…well…I just don’t know how to begin…”

“Just tell me slowly, I’m here to listen”

The bird blushed, hmm sweeter than sugar. Ahem, control yourself, be serious, bird!

“That pink-haired girl…she was getting better because…it may sound ridiculous but it was really like that, I swear”, Venta went around the bush since he couldn’t bring himself to speak about it directly, and even more it might sound unbelievable.

Moonlit nodded his head with a comforting smile as the sign for Venta to continue.

Venta restored his confidence from Moonlit’s beautiful smile, he continued:

“You know, as a magical flame bird, I have a flame that could purify and as I am a special case, I also have another magic which is ice magic, I don’t know much about it and I don’t know how to use it yet but I feel it could use as healing so I try to use it on the pink hair girl…hmm…it didn’t come out…but…”

Moonlit waited for Venta to continue with an anticipation face. The bird savored the rare moment of Moonlit’s expression in its memory then it went on:

“I think the pink girl was recovering by incidentally swallowing my saliva"

“Huh? What did you say, Venta? I couldn’t hear the last words”

Moonlit who focused intensively on the baby bird’s speaking, didn’t expect to miss out on any words.

In contrast, Venta was fighting crazily on his mind, as should he repeat it or not. Even though, he was purposely speak quietly at the last words.

Moonlit tilted his head, looking at Venta with a questionable gaze.

BANG!

AH!! Too Cute! Please don’t do this to me! (In mind: Do More, please)

“Pink hair’s condition improved due to swallowing my saliva!”

Bird rapped in one breath. There we go, his man’s dignity, it’s gone (˃̣̣̥//⌓//˂̣̣̥ ).

Venta closed one eye, and opened one eye, to peek out Moonlit’s reaction.

Moonlit was too stunned to speak after catching what the baby bird just said. It took about 5 seconds for Moonlit to regain back his mind.

“Venta, you mean, your saliva is the cure to the poison?”

“I guess, it is”

“…”

Both of them fell into silence.

This awkwardness made the bird want to fly and then hit its head on the wall. How embarrassing!

Moonlit adapted quickly to accept what he just heard. He said with some uncertainty:

“So the solution, it was making them swallow your…hmm…you…your sali-“

“You don’t have to say it, Moonlit”, Venta couldn’t bear to hear Moonlit say that word.

“And my answer is yes, we have to do that to confirm if my assumption is correct or incorrect since all the available document doesn’t help anyways”

Moonlit smiled and took a breath, he said resolutely:

“Let’s do it, we don’t have much time left”

Venta felt deeply moved by the undeniable trust that Moonlit had in him.

Venta: “I need a glass of water”
