I'm finally getting in the mood to write again

"So, what's the city like?" Lucas peaked over from his side of the carriage and stared at my phone's screen.

Foogle was surprisingly, still working all the way out here in the wilderness. It was supposedly because of the manufacturers opting to put the A. I directly into the device.

So the trillions worth of information was easily accessible in the little gadgets everybody carried. A neat piece of tech, but to be expected for a planet as technologically advanced as this.

It was regularly updated as well, allowing for you to get information from a few days back.

Anyway, Ferrier, the capital city of Klolla, was known to be built directly into the side of a mountain. I would've chosen a more flat piece of land if I were the builders, but I wasn't.

The houses and everything were connected through these little walkways that hung on the edge of the cliffs. They were known to be sturdy, but if you were paranoid, you could always take the teleportation devices.

And so I was curious as to where the competition was going to be held. A quick search on the browser had told me that it was supposedly going to be held in the Training Center that was located in the middle of the city.

After a few more minutes of reading and I was able to find out that it was supposed to be held inside the V.T.G as well. I wasn't exactly sure about how they would be able to bring the materials they obtained, but I guess we'll know once we get there.

"Supposedly built on a cliff. You good with heights, Lena?" I finally responded to Lucas, who looked like he had been waiting for my reply for quite a bit.

I then turned over to my older sister, who was surprisingly able to keep up with Thanatos, who was moving through the shadows.

"Heights? No, of course... not! Nope, not scared at all, little brother!"

She took a while to respond, as if she was thinking about it, then replied with a shaky tone.

Heh, she's definitely scared. I bet she'll be asking Catalyn to portal her way through.

I then turned over to Andvari, who was busy polishing his equipment. I wasn't an expert on smithing, but aren't whetstones supposed to sharpen swords and the like? Why was he using it to polish his hammer?

He didn't seem too uncomfortable on the back of the carriage. Other than the occasional "upmf!" he would say out loud whenever we hit a speed bump, he was obviously fine.

"Speaking of Ferrier, how long will the competition be?" Lucas once again turned to me.

"Uh... around a few days or so. It didn't specify it, but there should be around three phases in the competition. The first takes up a whole day, the second another, and the third another. So I'd like to think that there are three days."

"Huh. You think I'll have enough time to train while ol' Andvari here does his thing?"

Even he's begun calling the newcomers with nicknames. Andvari doesn't seem bothered by it.

"Yeah, you could train in the center for the whole day if you want."

"Awesome. Gwyar, we're running a session the whole day when we get there. You better get ready or I'll pummel you!"

"It is you who will be pummeled, Lucas. You always forfeit first."

"Wha-"

Leaving those two to their talk, I decided to continue browsing Foogle. After all, what else did I have?

"Ah, we're finally here!" Lena's voice wakes me up from my slumber.

I had decided to take a short nap. I didn't remember when, but I had started to feel sleepy after a few hours of browsing.

"Wake up, young master. We have arrived at Ferrier." Catalyn lightly hits me on the back, gaining my attention.

I slowly but surely open my eyelids.

The first thing that enters my eye is the mountains. They tower over the trees, reaching all the way to the sky.

As I turn my head to the side, I place my palm on the top of Bulwark's head, using him as a crutch to help me move.

The horse didn't seem to mind. He placed more weight on his head and helped me up by pushing his front.

"Sorry, thanks." I still gave my thanks to the horse, who neighed lightly in response.

As I steady myself, I see the entirety of the city's front. They were built directly into the mountains, with many of the buildings having sturdy metals beneath them, perhaps used as support to prevent them from falling.

"How are we supposed to get up there? It looks pretty high up." Lucas covers the top of his eyes with his palm as he looks up.

The moment we had left the forest, it was already night, and the sun's light had ceased.

But now it was shining very brightly, making it difficult to stare at the city without getting blinded by the sun.

"It's supposedly fine to just phase up in the walkways if we want to. But there are multiple teleportation devices stationed throughout the city. How about it? Should we have Catalyn do it or do you guys want to use the devices?"

Most of them replied with their desire to use the teleportation device, with Lena insisting we do so pretty strongly.

"Well, this should be it. I'll see you jukyus later. I've got a competition to catch. Come watch if you want to see Andvari win."

"We'll make sure to come. See you later." We waved goodbye to the dwarf, who had gotten off the carriage and started walking to the city.

We then got off the horses. We trusted them not to go away anymore, so we didn't hold the reins unless we were riding them.

"Let's go watch him later. How about we find some lodging first? We'll catch that dragon later."

"What if it leaves the nest, little brother?"

"Oh, well that sure is a possibility. But I've thought about it, and I've decided that we really should just wait until we get our equipment from Andvari a few days later."

"Ok then. I and Thanny will be heading on to the city then. Send me the hotel's name, and we'll be back before dark!" Lena took hold of Thanatos' hand.  and pulled him into the city, leaving us in the dust.

"We'll be heading on then, little bro. We're going to the training center."

"Okay then. You'll probably see Andvari on your way, so tell me if it's starting."

"We'll see you later." Gwyar bows towards me, and heads on with Lucas.

"Well, we're heading on. You've got anything to do, Aurelia?"

"I do. If my lord doesn't mind it, I will be exploring the city."

"Oh, well go ahead then. I guess Catalyn and I will be heading over to find a hotel. See you later."
