Chapter 27

The next morning, Adrian woke up early & found little Rose sleeping beside him, curled up into a ball.

Her light snoring sounds, accompanied by her small figure seemed to be very cute to Adrian.

He covered her with her blanket that she kicked away in her sleep & stared at her little figure for a while, lost in thoughts.

(...I never thought that waking up like this could feel so calming.. even I am surprised at the protective feelings inside me...)

Adrian patted her hair for sometime, before he stood up & got dressed properly.

Before leaving his tent, he looked behind himself one last time, before exiting.

Coming outside, he found both Ella & Drone busily preparing the breakfast.

The trees were denser around this region & a few monster cries could be heard sometimes in the surroundings.

Leaving Ella & Drone to themselves, Adrian went into the woods. His eyes full of resolve.

(...I will protect this treasure.. for sure...)

Inside the tent, Rose was lost in her sweet dreams, when she felt someone poking her sides.

She tried to sleepily swat the thing away & turned back to sleep.

The poking soon resumed, which forced Rose to sit up, as she looked around herself while rubbing her sleepy eyes.

[Who is it?...]

She found someone sitting beside her as he stared at her.

Rose soon recognized him. Her eyes flew open  and she shouted while glaring,

[You.. You are the monster!]

The figure nodded & replied,

<Spoken correctly Master. I am called Abra 'The Magician'!>

Rose's eyes turned wide as she looked at him up and down.

[Abra? Magician? Why do you look so funny?]

His weird face, along with yellow colored skin looked very funny to her.

The Abra started to sob silently, as it tried to wipe his non-existent tears.

<Master! An evil witch cursed me! I have become like this! You brought me here with yourself. So take care of me from now on!>

The Abra jumped forward, as it tried to hug Rose, but got punched and flew away from her,

[You bad monster! I am not stupid! Why should I care about you?!]

The Abra caressed his hurtful jaw as he responded,

<Master... you want to become stronger, right?>

Rose fell silent. She looked down for a moment before she replied,

[Of course I want to! But I am still too little...]

Looking at Rose pouting, as tears welled up in her eyes, the Abra panicked and quickly approached her.

<Wait! Don't cry yet! I have a method by which you can become very strong Master!>

Rose stooped crying immediately as she became surprised. She quickly held Abra's hands as she enquired,

[Really?! I can become stronger?!]

The Abra nodded & responded,

<Yes Master. From the world where I come from, we monsters can learn some moves. Since you caught me yesterday so you can use 1 move of mine too!>

Rose nodded as she tried to understand,

[What move? What do you know?]

The Abra became flustered as it answered,

<Umm, I know TELEPORT for now Master... But don't worry! I can learn more as I grow! I will also help you catch other monsters, & then, you will become the strongest!>

Rose stood still for a while as she clenched her small fists & an excited look appeared on her face.

[How do I learn the move?]

The Abra then instructed Rose on how to select the move & she immediately tried to use it.

[TELEPORT!]

Instantly, Rose appeared outside the tent as she looked around herself.

She looked at the tent she left behind, as her mouth opened up in awe.

Then she went back inside & repeated it another 4 times.

[This is great! But how would it hurt someone?]

The Abra quickly rushed to explain,

<Master, with TELEPORT, you can instantly appear behind someone, after which you can injure them without them knowing about it!>

<You can also use it to evade the enemies attacks or to run away from the battle.>

Rose finally understood as she became very happy.

[I understand. Now go away! Big Brother Adrian will be back soon!]

The Abra's figure dissolved upon Rose's command.

Rose looked around to see if it is hiding somewhere, before she lied down again to sleep.

[Brother Leaf, I will avenge you for sure..]

In the Village Chief's office of the Village Fray,

The Village Chief & a muscular man stood to one side, while a youth around 15 years of age was drinking some wine.

[Hmm, nice taste. No wonder that Lord father likes it so much.]

The boy had an oval face, while both his hair & his facial hair were absent.

He was a natural bald man.

He had a very large forehead, a trait from his noble lineage. He was dressed up in an extravagant suit, while a sharp sword hung by his waist.

The Village Chief quickly replied,

[I am very glad you liked it, Young Lord! I will ship 2 extra crates for you this season.]

The boy nodded as he continued to drink the wine.

Soon a knock was heard on the door.

[Captain. We have brought the Innkeeper.]

[Alright. Bring him in.]

A giant with an impressive physique & sporting a large beard brought along an old man.

The man was dressed in fashionable clothes, but his face didn't look too good.

[Welcome Innkeeper Sanchez. You have lived a great life until now, right?]

Sanchez sweated profusely while bowing to the youth,

[All because of your grace, Lord Carlos!]

The youth stood up and drew his sword, while placing it on Sanchez' neck.

[How dare you speak my name, commoner? Don't forfeit your life so quickly!]

Sanchez nodded lightly, while daring not to speak unnecessarily.

[Tell me, where are the ones who hurt my guards? They stayed at your place right?]

As the blade moved upwards, a piece of skin got cut and some blood trickled down.

[Youn-Young Lord! Those demons! They ran away yesterday... I-I didn't even notice when they walked away...]

Carlos became infuriated. Without saying anything further, he swung his sword downwards, quickly beheading Sanchez.

His head rolled, until it stopped near the wall.

The Village Chief quivered as he wondered if he was going to be the next one.

Carlos turned to look at the Village Chief & spoke, while cleaning the blood from his blade.

[I don't care how. Find them quickly. Or else prepare to join Sanchez in the afterlife..]

[Yes Lord!!]

The Village Chief quickly saluted & ran away as fast as he could.

Meanwhile, Carlos sat down at his seat to enjoy the leftover wine.

[Hmmm.. really, tastes really good!]
