It’d been five years... The long, lonely time which had past left me wanting, waiting for him to appear in the shadows. My love, Mikael. Where have you gone?

When our world had disappeared, my eyes had blinded. My thoughts scattered. Pictures of him flitted through my memories. The times we’d spent together. Fighting, running, and playing. They all vanished with a single click of a computer’s mouse.

Like a disheveled start of a failed career, I was swept away along with my lover. Onto the pages of a book. Onto a different plane.

And now, five years later, I arrive here to see a changed neighborhood, filled with new faces. New voices. New meanings... and yet, there is nothing great about this new life.

Not without him.

I’ll search a lifetime if it means I can, once again, be by his side.

And search, I have.

Damn it, I’ve been all over this new world in search of Mikael. Countless pubs, and in the parks. Over mountains and through deserts.

Six months have passed since arriving in this world, and I haven’t any leads to where he could be.

Dead?

I pray not. But he’s a vampire, surely death is not possible for us.

So where has he gone?

Resurrected?

Is he truly living a new life away from me?

It’s time to feign defeat in this search. I need assistance from someone.

Such person would need to be able to offer their hand to help me, and not figure out my true identity as a vampire. Anyone clever enough to figure out such detail could very well have me destroyed.

But who?

Who in this new world could help a being such as I?
