I woke up at a hospital bed, next to me was a soldier who came to ask some questions

"Oh you're finally awake, Iam your father's friend from the military, I came here to see how your doing"

"Iam fine, do you need anything from me?" actually Iam depressed, who wouldnt be after such a tragic incident

"When we found you, you were in your school uniform.. you had school that day?"

"Yeah, demons attacked the school, everything turned to chaos so I ran home worried about my family"

"So you ran all the way home? What about the demons how did you get pass them?"

"I took an assault rifle from a dead cop, but I ran out of bullets when I got home so I was forced to use knives"

"So um... Whats your plan now? You killed those demons with just a knife, you have a potential to be a soldier as expected from Kyosuke's son" 

"I want to be a soldier, theres nothing else I can do with my life, plus I need a job to keep living" 

"Your father's a great soldier, he once saved my life so I'll help you as payment, we been running low on men so they accept atleast 15 years old"

After I got out of the hospital the soldier payed my bills and helped me apply for the army, I got accepted easily thanks to my dad's training

At the training camp...

"Come on soldier move!" The trainer shouted as we were jogging around the camp

Ugh, why do we need to jog this early I havent even eaten breakfast

I looked around trying to find anybody around my age, but I seem to be the youngest one here

"Alright soldiers grab your gear and head to the range" 

The firing range.. I havent been in one for a while, father got busy when the demons started to be active and didnt have time to train me anymore 

I was already used to guns so I was able to perform better than the other recruits despite my age, after that.. they finally let us eat

"Hey kid, what are you doing here? Your very young" While I was eating, a man spoke to me

"Training to be a soldier, they said they were lacking recruits so they accepted me"

"What made you join the army though?"

"My whole family got killed by demons, my dad is a soldier so I just followed his steps"

"Oh.. sorry to hear that" the man apologized and went silent

Days went by and training continued, we trained how to hold firearms, rolled in mud and all sorts of stuff

Two months later

"Alright soldiers get ready, you will be dispatched on your first mission, in this mission we will try to reclaim the city where the demon's first attack happened, grab your gear and lets go"

Apparently I was transferred to another city after I passed out, and the city where I lived turned into an apocalyptic zone and now were given a mission to reclaim it

We arrived at the location,

They gave me a sniper rifle and a pistol then ordered us to drop from the helicopter with our parachutes

"Here we go" as soon as we dropped, demons started attacking from all angles

HELP ME The other soldiers screamed in pain as the demons started scratching them violently

"Go help them I'll provide cover!, Tsk we just got here and were already dying" I kept the demons away from them while they were treating the injured

But then, a demon that breathes fire appeared and scorched them in flames 

Damn it, theres alot of them I need to take cover

"Kid Get in here" the man I met in training camp called me over to take cover inside a building

"We'll be safe in here, how are we supposed to fight that thing!? They should have gave us more backup but the chopper just left us" 

"Theres no point in complaining, we still have enough ammo to fight back" we talked as we ran from building to building trying to get away as far as possible

"Look out!"

RUN the man shouted when a demon jumped on the man and bit a chunk off of his body

"Damn it Iam the only one left" I shot the demon and continued to run, as I turned over a corner I bumped on a large demon about two times my size 

"Shit" I shot its eyes to blind it, in response it swung its arms around trying to hit me

But I dodged them in time

That was close 

I shot its throat with the sniper rifle and blew off its neck, it finally ell and died

"That was tough, huh?" I heard helicopters passing by and explosions outside

Their bombing us? I got to get out of here

BOOM a bomb dropped beside me and sent me flying, I landed on a bunch of concrete luckily I survived but I had burns all over my body

"How am I alive, is this what they call plot armor? I guess I'll rest here" I lost consciousness again because of exhaustion  and pain

When I woke up..

"Where am I?" I found myself lying in a bed and a white haired girl who looks the same age as me sitting beside the bed

"Oh your awake, here I made you some porridge" she fed me while Iam in bed

"Oh thanks, what are you doing in this place?"

"Oh, I got stranded here when the demons attacked the city, we seem to be same age,  whats your name?" 

"Iam Kazuha Ishigami, how about you?"

"Iam Miyu Hotaru, its nice to meet you, what were you doing in the military?" She started talking to me while she treats my wounds

"Personal reasons, they were lacking recruits so they accepted me despite my age, wheres your family?" I need to get her out of here when I get better

"Oh, they're gone, they died long ago, how about you wheres yours?" 

"...They're also gone, thats why I joined the military because I had nothing left and no where to go, anyway.. Hotaru, why did you help me?"

"Oh, I found you unconscious on a pile of rocks, so I took you back home, you may call me Miyu instead, ah you should rest now so you can recover faster"

"Alright, Miyu.." huh? Thats strange, I swear I had more burns before I passed out, did it really healed that fast, I must be overthinking I should go to sleep
