What happens when the mask fits too tightly,
when the self you see reflected in a partners eyes
bears little resemblance to the you that lies underneath?
How do you finally pull that mask away,
To show the parts that are less appealing to them?
Is the face underneath truth, or just a thinner mask.
I wonder this far too often for far too long.
Sometimes I feel like I'm just fooling myself.
Sociopath is what we are, but it's not all of what we are.
We are more than our limitations and inabilities.
We are more than what we hide underneath.
