The two girls walked through familiar streets as Mei'er let out a gentle sigh, 'It's all familiar, the sights, the sounds. That's where I purchased candy for Young Miss whenever she was bullied, Mr Zhou's shop sold the best silk,' she sighed pensively, 'I have been wondering, why were there five names on that list? I thought it was supposed to be one true love?'

Yuese sighed, looking at the sky and replied, 'Master knows more than me. From what I understand, unlike most people I have three fate lines. Mine, Yuese's and binding them together like a piece of rope is the fate devised by the plot. These are all a source of fate; and the one I need to cut is the one connected to the plot. Unfortunately, my level in the fate binding technique is far too low to see my own fate lines, I can only infer based on divination. Each of the five names is connected to one of my three fates. And they may not necessarily be lovers! After all you're on it. Enemies, Sworn Brothers, other people that have a significant impact on your life. These are the things that connect two people with fate, at least that's what Master said.'

'But if you are connected to these people by fate, doesn't that mean there is an irreplaceable connection between you and them? If you break your fate, doesn't that mean what is destined will never be?' Mei'er asked, so caught up in the discussion she forgot to reminisce about the past.

'I don't want some person controlling my fate! Besides, Master said "Fate and Destiny are two different things", so my fate has no impact on what I am destined to do. Fate is controlled by the Fate Witches, while Destiny is controlled by the true gods. As I am on the path to become a Fate Witch, it means I will have to cut all my strings of fate!'

Mei'er had a complex look in her eyes as she heard this, if she had to cut all her strings of fate, did that mean she had to sever their connection as well? Such thoughts ran through her head as they reached the gates of the Bi mansion.

'We're finally here,' Yuese drew her ancient blade, 'Lets go pay the family a visit.'

'Dead in a single strike?' the fourth prince asked, his attractive and soul stealing eyes raising behind his platinum mask.

'Not even that Your Majesty, the sword didn't even touch him, and a genius of the soul creation stage, dead. Just like that.' the aide replied, 'It was two girls. One coarse and drunk, the other refined but plain looking'

'Haha, no fairy who can behead someone with a sword without touching the victims body would be plain looking. Judging by the ease at which the two escaped my men, it was most likely a disguise.' beneath the mask, the fourth prince frowned and thought, 'Has the Sima clan finally found where my mother hid me, to send two such skilled assassins after me? Or could it just be a coincidence?' He turned to his aide and said, 'I want as much information on these two girls as possible. Keep an eye out for other murders and follow them up...' but the prince was disturbed by another man barging into the room.

'Your Highness! Two girls have barged into General Bi's residence and are slaughtering everyone within!' as the newcomer finished his report, the fourth prince's eyes brightened.

'Summon my Crimson Guard! Lets head there immediately and arrest this foul-doer!' he had a good opportunity to capture these two Sima clan assassins.

Prime Minister Zhu looked through the latest reports from his agents. After twenty years, she still hadn't been found. Disappearing mysteriously, her mother's family hired the then young but promising scholar to lead an investigation as to what her fate was. Even now, as the mighty Prime Minister with the entire power of the empire behind him, he continued this case, the one blot on his career. But something caught his eye, a report from the guards, interviewing the witness of the brutal murder of Peng Hua. Two girls, one called 'Young Miss', the other called Mei'er. This sparked a memory, Sima Mei'er was her maid and vanished at the same time. It was surprising that a youngster from the mighty Sima clan would stoop to being a maid. But then he remembered who the client was... Could this 'Young Miss' that this Mei'er talked to be her?

Prime Minister Zhu rang the bell by his desk, summoning his adjutant who rushed in in a matter of seconds, 'Get me all the papers on the Peng Hua murder, and identify if anyone else has had interest in this case!'

'Apologies Your Excellency, minions of the fourth prince have taken our records on his orders.' the adjutant kowtowed in apology.

'Why would that waste be interested in the murder?' though unlike most people, Prime Minister Zhu knew that the fourth prince was no waste at all, 'Track his movements, and report them to me immediately!'

The adjutant kowtowed yet again before rushing out. Prime Minister Zhu tapped his brush against the paper with the hope in his mind, that this case that had stumped him for nearly twenty years was about to be solved.

While the room was painted in blood, the ancient sword was sparkling clean, as if it was too proud to have a speck of blood upon it. The girl controlling this flying sword was standing in a circle of cleanliness as the blade pointed towards the man and his wife; 'Sister, it is good to see you again' Yuese grinned as she used her power to wave the sword menacingly at the two.

'Yuese? I thought you were dead!' shock was in Bi Mingning's eyes as she saw someone she thought was dead in a gutter, some twenty years back. She thought she won; Yuese was the daughter of the first wife, Yusei had the arranged marriage with Duke Mi's son, Mi Jiao, and by her being gone, then it was all hers. The position, the marriage, the love, the inheritance, was all hers. She and her mother bullied and poisoned their way to the top, and finally, twenty years ago, achieved their ultimate goal: wiping out the bloodline of the first wife! But now, she was back. And she was powerful!

'Just went for a wander, dear sister, a wander to think about life, fate, and what I should do with my predecessors murderer. Anyway you are not the reason I am here,' Yuese's eyes turned towards Mi Jiao, 'Mi Jiao, 41. Inheritor of the Bi family, low stage soul building. My former fiancée. Its not surprising that you were one of the names on my list,'

Bi Mingning's eyes opened wide, as if a fire was burning within them, the shock from the blood soaked room dropping from her in anger 'He's my husband now! The Bi manor is mine, your position is mine! Everything is mine!'

'Oh dear sister. While achieving all that was Yuese's dream, it was never mine. My dream is to kill your husband!' with a thought of her mind, the sword thrusted towards Mi Jiao's throat, the sword qi beheading him almost instantly. As her eyes turned to Bi Mingning, Mei'er, a grin on her face, rushed into the room.

'The fourth prince is here and he brought his hidden guard.' Mei'er, who had been busy slaughtering the servants and other family members said in a panicked tone. While her Young Miss was strong, against an ascending divinity cultivator and his private army, it would be a tough fight.

Yuese's eyes still stared at her sister, the sword pointing at her, before she sighed, willing the blade back into its sheath; 'Okay, lets go. We will take him another day.'

With those two words, the two girls vanished, just before the fourth prince and his guard entered the room. Searching through the manor, they were shocked at the violence and slaughter, and Madame Bi was the only person still alive that they found.
