Hey folks,

This story is being retired.  I stepped away from it for too long.  Ended up losing whatever plot threads I was working with, but in doing so I also saw all the horrid mistakes I'd made in crafting the world.  More than half of them weren't even seen!

So I'm doing a rewrite.  It's not far along, but I think it's already going to be leagues better.  If you've enjoyed this story, short and incomplete as it may be, thank you.  I hope you'll stick around long enough to read the rewrite, whenever I get it put together enough to publish, and I'm sorry for letting this languish so.
