This is a new prologue. The old prologue will be in a spoiler at the bottom of the chapter.

“Ugh… This is the 7th volume already, why can’t this idiot get some character development already?!"

Dumbfounded, I exclaim my shock at the protagonist of this light novel I started reading the other day. It's getting to a point where I can feel actual pain. Could it just be me being weird? No, normal people wouldn't be this dense, right? If this goes on, the 8th volume might even have its own gravitation field!

"Whatever, I'll finish reading this for now. There isn't really a much better alternative in these types of novels left for me"

I feel like I'm going crazy from reading these, though, I even started talking to myself in frustration before noticing! I'll probably become just like these low-effort main characters if this keeps going on like this. I wish I could just wipe my memory and re-read some of my old favorites again...

Anyway, it’s getting late, I should read the rest in bed, I guess. I change into my sleepwear and go to the bathroom to brush my teeth.

I return to my room, but when I enter the door, everything turns black.

“Hah?!”

And endless space of black. I turn around, but the door I just entered vanished too. A dream? Did I fall asleep while reading?

A girl. In this endless space of black, a single small girl is standing right in front of me. No, she is a few meters away…? She is a small child, maybe 12 or 13 years old, and has blue hair that is long enough to touch her feet. She is only wearing a thin white summer dress.

I feel like she is saying something, but I can’t hear her. No, it’s not just that. I can see her face, but I don’t know how it looks… Looking at her feels like waking up from a dream, not being able to remember any of its details.

[Initiating Novel Entry...]

Novel Entry? Maybe this is what the girl was saying?

[World is being adjusted...]

Eh? it's being adjusted? This seems to be a dream, the last thing I did before dozing off was read a light novel... so this is a dream where I enter a fantasy world like in the story?

So, this is the god I meet before reincarnating?

[Fixing inconsistencies...]

At least my dream seems to care about that. Ah! There is also a slight chance this isn't a dream, I should probably not do anything too crazy just to be sure.

‘Umm, hello.’

I try to call out to this (maybe) god since I have a few questions. But nothing comes out.

Hm? Did she just smile?

[Final touches on the world system...]

Oh, seems like things are finishing up!

[Please be ready to be transported in 5!]

Here it comes! I wish I could’ve asked a few questions first to the girl though…

[4...]

Hmm? Girl…?

[3...]

Was there someone here? Why did I…?

[2...]

This dream seems to be messing with my thought.

[1...]

I really hope this is some cheat isekai like the one I was just reading!

[!!!]

Guh?!

Everything turned white for a moment and...

"---------?"

"-----,-------"

"----------"

"-------!"

Uwa! My head is spinning, it also somewhat hurts, not actually everything hurts!

Right, I was just reading a novel when I dozed off. And then I was in a black space before everything turned white!

I seem to be in a classroom, looking at myself I am pretty fat. Moving my body feels weird too.

But I have a much greater problem... I... don't understand what anyone is saying! Could this be the novel I was just reading? If this is an isekai shouldn't I at least get some Japanese language skill or something?!

And so, I lie down, turn down the brightness and keep reading, at least it's easy to sleep reading these novels...

In the midst of the sea of black before my eyes, I see a few words floating. A dream? Novel Entry?

[World is being adjusted...]

[Final touches on the world system...]

Somehow this feels less like the start of an isekai and more like launching an indie game, who wrote these messages?!

[Please be ready to be transported in 5!]

Here it comes!

[4...]

Hopefully, I don't wake up too fast.

[3...]

I should be fine since it's Saturday tomorrow, no reason to wake up early!

The main differences between the old and new prologue are that the new prologue introduces one of the main characters I used for most of my (never written) novels. Things might not make sense yet, just consider this as a foreshadowing. Nothing about the other chapters has changed either. At first, I wanted to implement more changes but decided against it, so I wouldn't cause unnecessary confusion.
