Chapter 3: The Infinite Telekinetic
I
Junshin mutely shrugged. He could sense from their abilities and levels that these were all Level 5 calamities gathered in one room. One—The Walking Calamity, Rika Kobayashi, or a Level 5 Infinite Telekinetic User. Shizuya Kawasaki, the Level 5 Astrakinetic User. Kanna Harada, a Level 5 Calokinetic User. He heard about them through Kazuki, but meeting them in the flesh was a different experience than he expected. Junshin cleared his throat, before he bowed his head and said, “My name is Junshin Fujimoto. It’s nice to meet you all. I’ll be in your care from now on.”
“There’s no need to be so formal,” Rika said, putting one hand against her hip and smiling slightly on her normally stoic face. “We are not friends in particular, simply collaborators working at a bigger goal.”
“Please,” Shizuya said, rolling his eyes playfully. “Fujimoto hasn’t proven he can keep up yet, can he? What makes you so confident that he’s got what it takes?”
“I know what I know,” Rika said mysteriously. “So. We’re all the same age but you will be working in the Student Council at SeRAPH.”
“What do you do here?” Junshin inquired.
“We have request forms in in the inbox for all kinds of missions and also on the website for quests around the city to do things for the people and students,” Rika explained. “So hopefully you’ll get adjusted to the workload. There’s always many things to do. But I do not tolerate incompetence in anyone, particularly and most especially in myself as well. Is that understood?”
“Thank you,” Junshin said with another bow, finding Rika’s cold demeanor rather intimidating. Though something about her intrigued her all the same and made him think that the cold demeanor was an outward bluff, as though she were waiting for someone to defrost the icy exterior and see beneath the wintry facade. Though Junshin didn’t have enough information on her to be sure, though this is information that he kept as a secret assessment for later in case if he updated his impression of her.
“Ha!” Kanna said with another huff, folding her arms and shifting on one leg to another. “Just don’t bring us down, rookie! We don’t need a deadweight on our team.”
“I assure you, my judgment is good,” Hina said, “And we all have to trust Kazuki-san.”
“But he doesn’t have a specialized Ability Rank,” Kanna complained. “We don’t know his qualifications and history! What makes you think that Kazuki could just plop some rando in our team to do this mission.”
Junshin frowned a bit, though he shook his head, letting the barb slide. They apparently had an already established dynamic and team and history with one another, and Junshin was the outsider intruding in.
“Why is he here anyway?” Kanna said with a sniff. “Did he even pass the entrance exams?”
“Not exactly,” Hina said, to which Hina strutted forward and poked a finger toward Hina’s bounteous chest.
“Y-Y-You let him in here without permission! Damn it, Kihara! That’s what I hate about you! You’re overly lax and whimsical attitude!”
Hina smiled and laughed, before she said. “Kanna-chan may sound angry all the time, but she really has a good heart underneath it all. She’s as committed to crime fighting as the rest of us are.”
“Don’t think you can butter me up,” Kanna said. “I’m no sweet potato.”
“Now that we’re acquainted,” Hina said as she folded her hands together and looked around the room. “We should all have a welcoming party for Junshin-kun after we solve the case. You heard the incident about the train?”
The others nodded.
“It is a rather mysterious incident that would require further investigation,” Rika said. “We’ve questioned the other train conductors and drivers about any unusual individuals or incidents.”
“Have you found anything yet?” Hina asked, looking toward Rika curiously.
“We haven’t found anything so far, though if our hunch is correct…”
“It’s definitely a bad guy,” Kanna said with a haughty air. “I can smell em out a mile away.”
“What are you, some kind of dog?” Shizuya said with a scoff, before he grinned a bit. “Anyway, Junshin, right? We got something good for you.”
“What is this something good that you have?” Junshin asked.
“You’ll see,” Hina said with a serene smile as she went to stand in the cloistered circle among her team along with everyone else, with Junshin hemmed in as the center or attention. “Your exams are coming up soon, right? You need to prepare as much as possible.”
“Seems like there’s some downtime before that, though,” Junshin observed, while Hina giggled.
“Of course. What is it that you want to do, Junshin-kun?”
“Not sure,” Junshin said with a shrug. “Maybe introduce me around the place, correct? I want an in-depth tour of SeRAPH and know all the best sites and things for stuff.”
“Yes, yes,” Hina said. “I appreciate the enthusiasm, but let’s curb it for the moment.”
“What do you mean?” Junshin asked, looking curious for a moment.
“We’re gonna have a special occasion for Junshin set aside while we’re celebrating Kazuki-san’s achievements. Nobody yet knows that Kazuki-san’s little brother in SeRAPH Academy, though I think that as the Student Council, we will take exceptionally good care of him!”
Kanna pointed a finger toward Junshin, scrunching her face an expression as though it looked like she bit into a lemon, before saying, “Rookie, I haven’t fully accepted you into the team yet!”
Junshin looked down at the shorter girl with his gangly, lumbering posture, almost finding it a little comical such a short little girl was trying to intimidate him. He fought to keep a smile from forming on his face and kept it as stoic as possible while Kanna went on her tirade, continually jabbing him in the chest.
“To prove yourself, you have to do menial tasks and jobs from the bottom up to do things of prestige and honor that this school requires! So first—get me some coffee. And brew it JUST the way that I like it.”
“Kanna-chan is a hard worker as always,” Hina said while clasping her hands together. “Though coffee would be nice, Junshin-kun. I’ll guide you to the cafeteria and show you the expensive coffee makers that they have for students.”
“Okay,” Junshin said, following Hina while the rest of the Student Council talked amongst themselves from his departure and Hina showed him to the coffee machine maker.
“You know how to brew a good coffee, right?” Hina said. “I’ll give you a hint about what kind of beans and blend that Kanna-chan likes, if you want. The rest of the team I can give hints towards too, as well.”
Junshin learned about everyone’s favorite blends. Kanna: Colombian Roast. Rika: Mocha Cappucinno. Shizuya: Light Expresso Roast. And Hina: Caramel Latte. Junshin prepared these blends in the coffee machine before he carried all these cups on a tray to the Student Council room where he presented the treats to his superiors, who thanked him for his serivce.
“Hm,” Rika said contemplatively, taking a small sip and savoring the sweet drink. “Succulent and rich. I approve. Though just barely. Final Grade is a passing A, I suppose.”
“Is there something not to your liking or I could do to make it better in your eyes?” Junshin asked. “An A doesn’t cut it with me.”
“Mm,” Rika said, staring at him with a cool blue gaze. “Honestly it’s good to have high standards. That is immeasurably important. Though if you can’t replicate the perfect blend of coffee I want.”
“Why is that?” Junshin insisted, before the room fell silent.
“Perhaps you should leave that line of questioning for later, Fujimoto,” Shizuya said, watching as the shadowed bangs fell over Rika’s eyes. “You might’ve opened up some old wounds.”
“Quiet, Shizuya,” Rika said in a terse tone.
“What?” Shizuya said, still keeping his jocular manner. “Isn’t it about time that you stop being chained to the past and move on toward the future, they say?”
Rika retreated into being in her reclusive shell again, sipping her cappuccinno in morose silence while Shizuya tried to poke and cajole her into conversation again without much success. Shizuya, seeing that he wasn’t going to win, took a sip of his coffee, sighed, before saying.
“Well, can’t complain if I’m getting free service,” Shizuya said as he took another sip from his own coffee. “Don’t worry, Junshin, you won’t be coffee bitch for long. We will give you tons of things and work to do that are more exciting than this.”
“Do you like the coffee, Shizuya-senpai?” Junshin asked.
“Eh,” Shizuya said, gesturing with his hand. “It’s pretty good, but as one brother to another, you sure don’t know how to read the room, do ya?”
“That’s rich coming from you!” Kanna said, eyes narrowing toward Shizuya. “You made Miss Untoucheable Queen in a sulking state. What are you going to do about that, I wonder?”
“I despise that moniker and I’m not sulking,” Rika said softly. “But if you must know, I don’t like people prying too much into my past.”
“Well, you don’t open up much,” Hina said. “Only Shizuya really knows what happened, right?”
“Right, and I’ll gut him if he spills a word of it,” Rika said in a cold tone.
“Now now, it’s Kanna-chan’s turn to try the coffee!” Hina said, trying to lighten the mood as much as she can to the best of her ability.
Kanna scrunched her face. “Hmph, just because he can obey and follow orders doesn’t mean…”
She took a sip, her expression became acidic again as her coffee. “This is wrong, do it again!”
“What does that even mean?” Junshin asked, looking at Kanna inquisitively. “Was it not to your satisfaction?
“Too bitter,” Kanna muttered, critiquing his coffee-blending skills though Junshin was sure that she was making him run through hoops and impossible standards to mess with him. “Put two sugar cubes in it.”
Junshin got the sugar cubes for Kanna, dropping them in deftly with the tips of his fingers. Kanna took a sip, scrunched her face, before she said, “Now it’s too much sugar. I think that the original blend would be better if you made it without the sugar cubes and a little less bitter.”
Junshin obediently went to dump out the coffee, not liking to waste resources but if his senpai told him to make her coffee to her satisfaction, he would do it. He was going to make her enjoy his coffee, no matter how much she was enjoying the sadistic pleasure of making him work and earn his spot in the ANGeLS team.
Junshin brewed the coffee again, before he gave it back to Kanna slightly less bitter.
Kanna looked reflective as she sipped again, before she dumped the coffee on his head. “You idiot! Why is this not as strong as I would like?”
“You were the one who requested it not be as strong,” Junshin said, eyebrow twitching as he took the saucer from Kanna’s hand and eventually went to blend another coffee as Kanna gave him the command: brew the Colombian Roast extra dark, no sugar cubes, no milk, and blended with the right proportion of beans to the precise measurement that she required of him. Junshin walked up and down the stairs that led to the cafeteria to brew the coffee in the cafe area, feeling a little strain and a bit pissed that Kanna was making him work for his dinner, but he didn’t really want to make a bad first impression on the ANGeLS team and cause ruffled feathers.
“Don’t choke on it now,” Junshin said with a slight smile on his face, though he immediately kept his face stoic again once Kanna glared at him with her cat-like cerulean eyes. “Seriously. I had a customer who drank my coffee so fast they went into a coughing fit.”
“Do you think I’m an idiot, Fujimoto?” Kanna said, looking at him suspiciously. “I want you to get angry and fight back. Aren’t you upset that I made you run around and do all that?”
“Whatever makes you think that I’m mocking you, Kanna? And to be honest…yes…I’m a little pissed off. So. Which is it? Is it brewed to your satisfaction?”
Kanna smirked as though she won a secret game that she was playing against him and he didn’t even know the rules, before she said, “At least you’re being honest now instead of a good obedient drone like they teach you how to be in school. If you’re pissed, you’re pissed. That’s good. So let’s see if your coffee sucks or not.”
Kanna took a sip of the coffee, hee expression softening a bit, before it became acidic like the coffee again. “Hmph!”
Hina smiled, interjecting before things got out of hand as she said, “You got Kanna’s approval if she doesn’t find something to complain about.”
“I will be in your service,” Junshin said humbly and immediately sobering up while Rika took another sip of her cappuccino.
“The balance and measure of flavor has been brewed satisfactorily,” Rika noted. “You have experience as a barista?”
Junshin nodded. “I do some favors here and there.”
Kanna let out a sigh of satisfaction, before she placed her coffee cup on the tray. Her cerulean eyes glazed with fervor as she slammed both hands down on the ovular mahogany table in the center of the Student Council Room, with the wide open-paned windows glancing in sunlight showing a beautiful view of the rose gardens and hedge trimmed bushes outside along with the fountain showing the splendor of SeRAPH’s glory and aesthetic design. The lush carpeting sank underneath their loafers as they walked upon the mossy surface, and there was even lounge seats and sofas in the parlour room like office where they took requests on their website for their missions.
Nothing seemed to be going on at the moment except incidents of the psychotic breaks, though the students wanted to take a break from their mission for the moment and to get to know the ‘rookie’ who went among them and will be joining their team.
“So you,” Kanna said, narrowing her cerulean blue eyes at him. “What can you do, exactly?”
“I believe that I have the skillset that you need for your missions,” Junshin said, explaining his case. “I train everyday in both physical and mental stamina, whether it’s parkour or sharpshooting or even calisthetics and stretches and flying and telekinetic and telepathy exercises to strengthen my mental shields.”
“Training isn’t the same thing as the real thing!” Kanna complained, before Hina came between them to help ease the tension.
“Well, Junshin may not have the experience yet. And that’s the most important distinction. Yet. But I think through actual combat experience and simulations he will be able to prepare himself enough to take on real cases, real criminals.”
“H-Hmph!” Kanna said as she crossed her arms and looked disdainfully away. “At least his coffee doesn’t suck.”
“I worked as a barista in a coffeeshhop for a few years,” Junshin said. “I know the right blends and variations to bring out the resulting flavors to their most aromatic and beautiful blends.”
“Oh?” Kanna challenged, daring Junshin to say something to contradict her.
Junshin was only too happy to oblige.
“Well,” Junshin said. “You want some creamer in your coffee to sweeten you up?”
“Don’t think that you’ve won me over yet, you!” Kanna said as she jabbed a finger toward Junshin’s chest, glaring straight up at him with fierce eyes that glinted a steel blue. “This is an elite school of elites! You haven’t distinguished yourself in grades, exams, or even battle experience! So don’t expect me to automatically give you respect because you’re the brother of Kazuki!”
“Now, now, Kanna-san,” Hina said serenely. “That’s a little harsh, don’t you think?”
Kanna flushed.
“But why do we need another member on our team? Did Kazuki and Reito not trust us enough to get the job finished?”
“We simply have to work with what we have,” Rika said in a calm tone, drinking her caramel cappuccino and savoring it. “Honestly…my current assessment is Junshin needs a lot more experience. It starts with the little things, and if he can’t make a perfect blend of coffee, how do we expect him to handle larger assignments?.”
Rika paused, before saying, “Still. He’s got potential.”
Kanna flushed again.
“I-I know, b-but!”
Shizuya smirked at Kanna. “Worried you’re gonna get replaced?”
“No way!” Kanna said while frowning at Shizuya with a certain distaste in her expression, before she held up her nose in the air and put her arms akimbo on her hips. “Unlike this man here, I’m a valuable asset to the team. You know that, right? If you don’t think so, I’ll roast you all!”
“Of course,” Shizuya said while rolling his eyes. “Kanna thinks of roasting our asses as the first thing when we do something she disagrees with.”
Rika maintained a calm aura despite Kanna’s threats—yet, thinking about it, Junshin noted that this black-haired, silvery-blue eyed girl was the most dangerous one in the room. Her Aura was of suppressed power, but he could tell that there was a vast amount of power rippling and whirling in concentrated amounts in her slender body, being repressed through sheer force of will so that it’s didn’t leak out and overwhelm them all with oppressive gravitational energy and pressure. Yet a slight chill came in the air—just a whiff of a chill—and Kanna immediately stopped talking as her eyes widened and she was immediately cowed into silence.
“How competent he is on the battlefield is the only thing that matters,” Rika said. “I trust Hina’s judgment and I don’t believe Kazuki was playing favoritism when he put his brother on the team.”
“But I had to work HARD to prove myself to the team,” Kanna said, her eyes suddenly become sullen and her mood sulky, the fire spitting out of her as her flaring Aura died down. “And Rookie here gets in for free? This sucks.”
"Cheer up, Kanna-chan!” Hina said, putting a hand to her mouth as she giggled. “You’re not going to be replaced anytime soon.”
“You’re just trying to butter me up,” Kanna said.
“Am not.”
“Are too!” Kanna said while stabbing a finger toward Hina’s chest once more. “Also, how fear is that you’ve got these massive mammories? Did you drink a lot of milk as a child? Does all the food you eat convert into your boobs? Or God forbid, you use your atomokinesis to—“
“I assure you, these are one hundred percent real,” Hina said serenely, before it looked like Kanna was about to cry.
“No way…I thought I could reassure myself if I thought they were fake, but the fact that a teenage girl like you has 34E knockers like those…impossible!”
“Why are my breasts the topic of discussion,” Hina said with a slight whine in her voice.
“Breasts? What are they, are you talking about a cut of chicken?” Shizuya said while raising a brow toward Hina.
“Er, no,” Hina said as she became very flustered no, waving her hands frantically. “My boobs shouldn’t be the topic of discussion here! How did it devolve to this!”
Junshin held a hand to his mouth, choosing not to comment, though secretly, he had observed Hina’s assets, which caused him a great deal of frustration and flustered embarrassment when she was near his vicinity. The fact that she could be nurse/Medic fetish fuel further fueled the male fantasy of being examined by a cute girl only made him stay silent, hoping that things would die down and calm before an inferno literally sputtered from the sparks that threatened to ignite the room.
“Junshin-kun!” Hina cried. “What are you thinking about me???”
Shizuya slapped a hand against his face, Rika remained as serene as ever and no expression on her face, Kanna’s mouth formed an angry slash as she continued to jab at Hina’s bosom while forcing the girl back with each jabbing motion, while Junshin was mortified.
“Junshin-kun!” Hina cried again. “Won’t you stand up for my honor? Maybe my shirts feel too tight all the time and my behind feels buxom under my three tiered skirt, though that doesn’t make me some genetic anomaly, does it?”
“…She won the genetic lottery,” Rika whispered, while Shizuya sidled next to Rika and nodded. “I would hate Hina if I were catty and if Hina weren’t so nice.”
“Grr! Just. Shut. Up!” Kanna said while doing a poke with each thrust of her finger. “If you have atomokinesis, theoretically, you could give me a better body, right?”
“Our powers aren’t supposed to be used to irresponsibly!” Hina complained, before she smiled and blushed. “Besides…I think Kanna-chan is cute as she is.”
“Haa?” Kanna said, before she shook her head. “I was gonna roast your ass, but now I just can’t. I just can’t.”
The fire and spit that came out of Kanna started to die down, and the blue coal gas flames of her cerulean eyes started to dim. “You’ve got a great body, why would you be ashamed of having such assets? You and Rika are more the icons of the teams than I am.”
“That’s not true, Kanna-chan!” Hina said, going over and hugging Kanna-chan in a tight grip that nearly suffocated the girl. “You’re a dedicated Enforcer in the Academy who catches all the rule breakers in SeRAPH’s halls! You have pro detective skills and unconventional methods of fighting that involve getting the enemy off their game in combat. Don’t downplay yourself, you know, hm?”
“Mmph!” Kanna said, nearly passing out from being squeezed from Hina’s monstrous strength and monster boobs.
“Oh, sorry,” Hina said as she reluctantly parted from Kanna, who gasped and flushed. “I didn’t mean to suffocate you. Though Kanna-chan, I’m more than just my body, you know?”
“I know,” Kanna said a bit hesitantly, before her eyes flashed toward Shizuya and Rika, who were looking toward Hina and Kanna with bland expressions. “Don’t you two have anything to say?”
“Nope,” Shizuya said.
“Absolutely nothing,” Rika said.
"So you say,” Kanna said with narrowed eyes, stomping her loafers on the lush carpet and sizing up Rika and Shizuya, who both stared evenly back at her with unfaltering gazes. “You two may be good at keeping calm under pressure, but don’t tell me that none of you have cracked before.”
“Mm,” Rika said while putting a hand to her cheek in sardonic amusement. “This would be the part where I would be intimidated if I didn’t know Kanna wasn’t up to her usual antics.”
“Exactly,” Shizuya said, slapping one arm around Rika’s shoulder and leaning in close while giving a mocking grin toward Kanna. “Learn to be a little unpredictable Kanna or you’re cooked.”
“The only thing cooking is your asses…” Kanna said as her aura flared up. “When I roast em!”
“One trick-pony,” Shizuya mocked, appearing to be sad. “Can’t you do anything other than say you’re ‘gonna roast our asses’ or ‘you’re gonna roast us’? Don’t have the mindpower or willpower to say anything else?”
“Now, now, Shizuya,” Rika said as Kanna’s nostril’s flared toward Shizuya, really looking like she was going to roast the whole place down. “We need to be more sensible than this.”
“Shizuya, I always knew you were an insufferable prick,” Kanna said as an angry slash of a smile appeared on her lips. “But hearing you say that and question my intelligence—really gets on my nerves!”
“Do you have the nerve to stand up to me, though?” Shizuya said, detaching his arm from Rika’s shoulder and facing Kanna. “I think you’ve gotta work more on your charisma because obviously it’s not your main selling point…nor your tits, for that matter.”
“Kawasaki, a girl’s value is not on her breast size,” Rika said with a slight frown.
Shizuya shrugged. “I call it like it is. Though hey, some people say that justice is flat and all that.”
“I’m a big girl, Shizuya,” Kanna said with a mock sad face as she pretended to ‘cry’ at his insults. “I can handle whatever grade school taunt that you throw at me.”
“You only deserve grade school taunts, Kanna.”
“Hmph! Maybe if someone knocked you flat on your skinny ass you would look up to someone instead of down.”
“Me? Nawh, I’m actually pretty humble. I know my limitations. Like I can’t stand being in the same room as you.”
“The sentiment is mutual!”
While Kanna and Shizuya furthered bickered into the room, Hina folded her arms underneath her chest and watched the ongoing scene with a slight hint of amusement on her features. She gestured for Junshin to come closer to her, to which she did, and she held his hand shyly, smiling a bit daintily as she did so.
“You know what I like about the familiarity of this scene?” Hina said.
Junshin shook his head.
“It shows that we’re comfortable enough around each other to be ourselves. Like, on our missions, we’re usually well-coordinated and seamless enough to get the missions done, but when it comes to off duty stuff, utter chaos happens! There’s never a boring moment, you know.”
“I can agree,” Junshin said as he noted that Kanna was raising the temperature of the room, her eyes flaring and blazing a blue coal gas flame while Shizuya laughed and overpowered her with his own Aura. “Though before Kanna roasts the entire place down, how about showing me that tour of the school that you promised me?”
“I did do that, didn’t I?” Hina said with a smile, before she took Junshin by the hand and began guiding him room by room in the school—from the gymansium to the cafeteria to the library and Infirmary and offices and classrooms and clubrooms and everything else that you can think imaginable for a prestigious Academy such as SeRAPH. It certainly lived up to its reputation of being a school for the elite, and Junshin wanted to become part of the functioning members in its society that would help others and become better.
Once Hina finished the tour, she clapped her hands together before saying, “You’re in for a real treat, Junshin-kun.”
Junshin cocked his head.
“Why is that?”
“I’m going to show you the best places to get books and eat and go to fun areas where you can entertain yourself, from billiards to the arcade to the amusement park and more!” Hina said, stretching her limbs. “But that’s only after I show you a particularly special room that is open to all.”
“What room would that be?”
Hina’s voice pitched to a dramatic whisper.
“The Training Simulator.”
Junshin rubbed a finger against ared forelock. “The Training Simulator?”
“It’s one of the best things in the school for students to sharpen their abilities and powers while testing their capacities and strength while giving scientfiic data for the researchers to learn about a Psion’s aptitudes and abilities,” Hina chattered excitedly. “For example, one scenario has you fighting against various simulated hologram entities in a free for all match tot determine how many you can handle at once, and once the clock starts ticking, it keeps on going until you’ve finishing smashing as many of the holograms as you can.”
“Sounds simple enough,” Junshin said, putting his hand underneath his chin now. “Is it a totally safe environment where you can go out if you want?”
“It should be,” Hina said. “Though there was an incident where the machines broke and the students have since dubbed Rika as the Walking Calamity at five years old…in fact, she destroyed a good portion of the school, and they had to ask for my help on reconstructing it with my atomokinesis.”
“Just how powerful is she?” Junshin said in wonderment.
“She’s really strong,” Hina said as she thought fondly of her friend. “Though she constantly has to restrain her power all the time or it could really be a calamitous event. Most people didn’t even want to be friends with her because they thought she was some kind of harbinger.”
“Hm,” Junshin said, before Hina twirled around on her foot and gazed him seriously.
“Junshin-kun…will you be friends with Rika-chan, too?”
“I don’t know her yet,” Junshin said. “But I can try.
Hina smiled brightly, before nodding. “Okay, good. I want all of us in the ANGeLS team to be friends.”
Hina then gestured to the simulator, smiling broadly at Junshin as though inviting him inside the chamber.’ Why don’t you give the simulator a whirl?”
“Right now?” Junshin said in alarm.
“Sure,” Hina said in a chipper tone. “I think we need to test the parameters of your current abilities, and if my suspicions are correct, then I need to confirm something.”
“Er, will everything be okay?” Junshin said a bit tentatively, before Hina laughed.
“Don’t worry about it, Junshin-kun,” Hina said. “Remember, I have atomokinesis. I can reconstruct things from nothing back to the way they were again, so feel free to go all out if we have another incident like Rika.”
Junshin nodded, taking a deep breath, before the sliding door opened into the simulator. He hears the countdown for the simulator descend a sequence of numbers to zero, and he feels his Aura flare up in anticipation. The levels are rising and the heat in the room warps and distorts the polygonal figures and eventually erupts into a burst of explosive power that takes out a good portion of the simulator and equipment that made part of the building for the infinite simulator.
Junshin stood there with a sheepish grin on his features while Hina nodded, before saying, “That’s what I was wondering about. Okay, don’t worry about it, Junshin-kun, I can fix it up and patch it as good as new!”

Sorry about last time, I clearly forgot to click 'post' for the comment. I'll try and recall what I said. I liked the development of the investigation and I asked about the power to place the spirit of an angel into a clone vessel. Also, find it interesting that people don't believe in religion although they are making contact with angels and the like. All in all an interesting chapter.
