Chapter 030

‘I will die today…'

That was the thought inside Betty’s head as she saw Abomination approach her. Behind him, Bruce was already defeated and she knew that there was no chance he would wake up to save her.

Maybe it was just because of her father’s bad deeds that they were gonna receive an end like this.

It was just karma.

One of the soldiers in the back tried to shoot him with a gun, but the bullets easily bounced off his unbreakable skin like they were raindrops.

“Unbelievable…” Betty grimaced as she saw the scene.

“I will give you all a slow death.” 

Abomination sneered and laughed haughtily like he was the strongest person in the world and no one could stop him now.

He walked slowly, crushing the bullets that had bounced off his skin, enjoying every step as he watched the horror inside the eyes of General Ross. The General that had ordered him around till now was shaking due to him.

It was something that he enjoyed as much as he could.

Abomination was just five feet away when the General stepped up, trying to pacify him and remind him that he still belonged to the military.

“Emil, young man, you still belong to the military. We can do so much with you at the lead. America will be unrivalled–”

“Why do you think I need the military?” Emil laughed at the audacity of General Ross's words.

He continued, “Can't you see the power I have currently? I’m the strongest. I don’t need the military when I’m way stronger than it. I can rule over you all.” He pointed at General Ross. “I don’t need you to order me around!”

With that, he took his fist and punched the General, expecting to give him a horrific death but before his punch could touch General Ross, something leapt at him.

It was a ferocious wolf that looked real yet unreal at the same time. An energy burst happened as the wolf dug through Abomination ugly skin, it’s claws digging gouges in his skin.

Abomination crashed into the wall due to the outburst, the wall crumpled under his weight.

“What is this? A wolf?” He got up and glanced at Alex and his wolf, surprise showing on his face.

Even the General, Betty and the soldiers had a shocked expression on their faces, seeing a wolf come directly out of Alex.

'In the end, I have to fight Abomination. Nice!’

Alex thought sarcastically as he looked at Abomination. His wolf circled around him, awaiting Alex’s mental command.

“Who are you?” Abomination asked, staring up at him.

“Lycan.”

“What kind of name is that? And what’s with that appearance?”

“It was the only one available and I don’t think you should comment on someone’s appearance.” 

Abomination squinted his eyes, seemingly gotten more angry by Alex’s remark. He rushed at him and the wolf leapt.

Alex made the wolf aim for Abomination's throat but he got his forearm in the way. It gnawed on that instead, claws trying to rip into his skin.

Abomination swore, then punched the wolf with his right arm.

Alex felt the wolf’s pain as it whimpered slightly. But there was no backing away. No matter how strong Abomination's blows were, Alex only had his wolf to counter.

He didn’t have any strength to face Abomination head on and just one punch was enough to transform his body to paste.

‘Just until Shield is here.’

He thought in his mind as he gave another command to his wolf.

The wolf bit down again on Abomination, this time harder. An intense struggle broke out between them as Abomination tried his best to hold on to the wolf and slam it into the surface.

But the wolf was stubborn, trying everything to cause more and more damage to Abomination.

“Owwoo!” 

The wolf growled as Abomination punched him right into the face, causing it to stumble back but it stood right back up instantly. If it was still first level as before, the wolf would have never stood a chance against Abomination.

But after bonding and levelling up, it could at least hold back Abomination for a while.

“You are an annoying animal.”

Abomination said and roared, rushing at the wolf.

He punched but the wolf dodged it and tackled him, slamming him down to the ground. Then, it began to repeatedly slash at his face. One strike after another.

“Ahhhh!”

Abomination screamed as claws dug through his skin, making blood gush out of it. In his anger, he gave up trying to defend and grabbed the wolf by the neck.

Then, he growled and bashed the wolf on the ground. A painful yelp came out of it as Abomination continued to bash him around.

The wolf tried to counter it but it had no effect. He was thrown into one of the walls, his form becoming lighter and lighter until he lost all his strength, fading away.

The particles that made the wolf flew back to Alex's body as he cursed.

“Shit!”

His wolf had lost all his powers and he would be unable to form it again for a while. That meant that Alex had no way to counter Abomination with both Hulk and his wolf losing the ability to fight.

“You have an annoying pet.” Abomination frowned, looking at the bite marks on his body. “I thought my anger would subside after beating up Hulk but you have just increased it.”

He looked at Alex, eyes filled with killing intent.

‘Where is Shield when you fucking need them?’

He looked around. General Ross and the soldiers had taken a safe spot and there were no signs of military or Shield.

Alex was alone and in front of him, an ugly, fish monster was waiting to rip him to shreds.

'I don’t really have a… choice.’

His heartbeat quickened as he realised what was gonna come next. 

’15 seconds.’

That was the time he would be able to stand a chance against Abomination. The total duration of his bullet time and if he was unable to defeat him in that time, he will lose his life for sure.

“Fuck.”

He cursed as the Abomination rushed at him.
