Upon seeing what is written in the Scroll, Merufina was more terrified than surprised because even though a cultivator's first purpose is longevity but living forever is something that only top Hegemonic figures of the cultivation world could think of. It seems that the Scroll is related to taboo things of the cultivation world
Unlike Merufina, what surprised Long tian was the Heavenly Imperial Court not the "living forever" because, in his previous world, there were many legends of the Heavenly dynasty
