6 months before the hunt.
"Wake up moron!"-Noira hit my head with a pan breaking it
"That is the 30th pan this month"-I jumped awake
"You got a call from the hunters"-Noira gave me another sharp look
"I will be on my way"
"No no no, turn around, and take care of the bed, it looks like a pig slept in it"-Noira punched me in the head
"Yes ma'am"-I had made the bed in record time
"Better now"-Noira held my hand and we both went downstairs
"Well hello Leo"-Amy was there standing, her face was bloodied, her hands were usual normal(meaty arms), her eyes got a shade of red instead of the usual blue same goes with her hair which is now red instead of grey
"Well come with me now!"-Amy spoke with an imposing voice. She dragged me to a Hunter car and began driving away Noira was annoyed by this
"Well sorry for this but you have something very important to do, you will take care of a 4 hunter squad in a dangerous mission"
"What mission?"-I asked Amy while she was cleaning herself
"You will be hunting Wendigog and flying skulls, around 400 of them"
"Ok that is dangerous enough to send them on a wendigog hunt, both skulls and wendigos are hard to kill for humans"
"That is the reason I am sending you silly. You will meet them at the base"
At the Base:
"Well well, he is here"-Amy presented me to the hunters
"Ohh shoot, Leo"-One Hunter that is very small seemed to recognize me, she wore glasses
"Who are you guys exactly?"-I asked the 4 Hunters
"Yes, he is the same as we remember him. Why do your eyes have this pattern now?"-Another girl, she was short compared to me and Amy but a little taller compared to the last girl
"Ohh I had been to high school with you"-I read their memories.
"I am stunned you remember. If you need to hear our names again here you go. I am Ana"-The girl with solid build, dark blonde hair spoke
"I am Tudor, we used to get along pretty well"- A very short guy with even shorter hair spoke
"I am Helen"-The short girl smiled
"And I am Jacob."-A very well-kept male Hunter with dark curly hair, his overall look was stunning to anyone.
"Well I am happy to meet you again guys"-I looked at each one and I tried reading any memories of previous hunts, they were pretty brutal and cruel.
"So still single?"-Jacob asked a question smiling
"Well no. I am in a relationship for 7 years"-Everyone in the group made wide eyes
"We anyway I want to see how strong and capable you are for humans"
"Aren't you human as well?"-Ana asked me while grabbing a knife
"Shall we begin?"-She asked with a smile
"Okey"
Ana ran up at me and put the knife at my throat with the speed that few humans can reach
"Got you"
"You sure?"-I was behind her putting my hands on her shoulder and whispering in her ear, my voice echoed all around her, as she woke up from the illusion, she was sweating, knife still in her hands
"Wow how did he do that?"-Tudor asked Amy?
"He is a skinwalker. And please don't use illusion when they are not needed"-Amy gave me a sharp look
"Ok Ana let's repeat, you can stab me if you want I can regenerate, I will use human powers"-I was looking at Ana as she was getting her composure, coming to attack me with the knife, I only have my human reflex in my body, I can see her move and predict them however I am slow to react while human.
Ana stabbed me with the knife and surprisingly the knife blade broke while trying to stab me
"That will happen if you tried that on a Wendigo"- Helen got in front of Ana, she was getting ready for a close-quarter fight, she charged at me with incredible speed, I dodged her, I grabbed her hair and flung her with my left hand on the ground.
"Well she almost got you"-Tudor was next he charged me head-on, and he managed to pin me on the ground
"Now my turn"-Jacob was getting ready, I dodge him as much as I could, we grabbed each other's legs and in the end, there was a draw.
"Well I am curious what will you do about me, you can use full power if you want"-Amy rushed with breakneck speed, she slashed my head off
"Is he dead?"-Helen asked Amy with a frightened face
"No I am not"-My hand was trying to search for my head that was speaking and reattach it. As I re-attached the head everyone aside Jacob was scared
"How can he do that?"-Ana asked Amy?
"Well, that is why we send him on missions that are dangerous so he can be a punching bag that is the only reason he was picked to be in your team."- Now follow me to the corridor and you will get the briefing on it.
We followed Amy. I was looking at everyone that I used to know, am I going insane?
"Well you are here"-Shannon the Asian guide handed me the briefing of the flying skulls mission
"Well let's see: A number as high as 400 flying skulls had been seen in a cave in Kentucky, a strange man with moose skin had been seen lingering the area. Well, the payment is pretty high. I will suggest for all of you to stay behind me while I am scouting"
"We have done this before"-
"He is right, he can regenerate, we can't do it as fast as he does"-Helen slapped Tudor over the head for his last comment
"Let's go to my house first, I have incendiary rounds, we will need them later, we are going home anytime soon do pack up. We will not only hunt skulls that fly we will also hunt Wendigog"
"I have never seen a Wendigo before, I would not like to meet one either"
"I will show you how a Wendigo looks"-I transformed in a Wendigo, pale frostbitten skin, eyes pushed back into the eye sockets, yellow eyes yellow teeth, hands with sharp claws
Helen trembled at this sight, same did Ana and Tudor, Jacob was not phased by it
"Enough showing off"-Amy slapped me, this lightened the mood as I turned back into a human
We got in the car the organization offered us and got back to my house
"Well new guests?"-Noira was welcoming them to the house, they were suspicious why is there a house in the middle of the woods
"Well thanks, I guess?"
"This place is messy!"-Helen looked at almost every room corner by now
"That was your job!"-Noira said it slowly, I knew what I had to do before she will hit me and get angry, I dashed after the cleaning liquid and a broom and gathered the mess within 15 minutes
"Don't forget again!"-Noira rushed out of the room.
"She is scary, I like her"-Helen was going after Noira to talk with her more
"Jacob, follow me"-he followed me to a munitions room
"Well, what now?"
"Here you will need them, you can handle yourself very well out the rest of the group, you will need these, dragon's breath 2 in one both explosive and incendiary, I will carry them in this black box with a tent symbol on it, both of wendigo and flying skulls are killed with fire. Grab it and never let it go"
"Understood. I like the guns you have here"-Jacob was looking at the guns on the shelves at the various ammo types
"Well, let me tell you about my boyfriend, Jay, he is such a goofball sometimes. He does bring me flowers and he is romantic"-Helen blushed while she was talking with Noira
"Well Leo, he is not the best but does his everything to keep this house going. Don't get this wrong, I do my job too, he is only faster. I mostly joke with him when I am mad. He brings me gifts, although unusual they are still gifts"
"Did he mess up, big time?"-I don't know why girls gossip so much
"Many times. He did not cheat but he is making perverted jokes directed at other girls."
"Does he hear us whem gossiping?"-Helen asked Noira while looking around
"Absolutely, he can hear every inch of the house"-Noira was looking at Helen with an Ironic glare
"I don't know why you bother gossiping"-I was behind Noira with my hands on her shoulders
"Well it is a thing girls do"- She looked at me with a smile
"Well, I think you should get going."
We eventually got going on the hunt, first, we have to take care of the skulls, I know this is Ishna's hands, he is the only one capable enough of doing this.
"Well this trip is boring"-Tudor was looking at Helen and Ana coloring a book. Jacob was in the front seat with me, he was looking everywhere the landscapes we passed
"Looks like we have 2 kids with us"-Jacob smiled at Helen and Ana while he was trying to hit their hands so they will go off the model
"4 years both of them"-
"Why do you have to be so mean"-Helen was joking while making a child's face
The road was not so fortunate but after some boring hours, we arrived. We had found the cave pretty quick, we found our first skull, I caught it with my hands and I spread fire powder on the skull
"Well, this was fast."-Helen looked everywhere around the place
"We should get in the cave, Ana, Tudor set the camp up, Leo you come with me in the cave we got to take care of them first"- Jacob stepped in the cave, he is brave. I followed him, as my eyes can see in the dark. I was on Jacob's left side, we found some more skulls
"Just see"-Jacob shot the skulls, his aim was very good, he did not miss too much, almost did not miss anything aside from the last shot when he missed due to a misfire
"Watch out"-I pushed him out of the cave while the other hundred skulls were eating at my flesh dismembering me limb from limb
At the camp:
"Leo is in the cave"-Jacob announced to Helen and Ana, both of them both got their weapon ready and, but only my severed head was visible, they saw me regenerate my whole body in 5 seconds, I got my fire powder and made a fire blockade so no skulls can exit.
"Some of them are getting burned!"
Jacob was reloading his shotgun, his hands were fast, everyone's hands were fast at reloading.
"They are not as intelligent as they seem"- Helen was looking with a smiling face at the burning cave opening
Most of the skulls burned a few remained that I let Jacob and Helen deal with them, Tudor was fast asleep.
"We got to camp a few days here, we still have the Wendigog"- Jacob commanded all of them to sleep
"Leo you keep guard"
"Understood"
Everyone was sleeping already, the night had offered me clues of Wendigo presence. The putrid smell, and the voice mimicry, it was close to us, the voice sounded far but my ears can tell where it is coming from, it wants to make everyone insane from the first night
"You hear it too?"- Jacob was behind me stoaking the fire
"Yeah I did"
"Don't let it get in your head"
"I won't but I suggest you the same thing, let's make it safer for it to attack and then give it a surprise attack, let the other have the symptoms and I will take care of the rest, you will come too and take care of the rest, I can't let anyone die"- I communicated with Jacob in his mind, to him it looked like I spoke out loud.
"I will get back to sleep"- Jacob zipped his tent, there was silence, too much silence that is unhealthy.
The next morning
"Don't you smell something?"-Ana had a scarred face like she had not slept in days
"No we don't"-All of us replied to her
"Do you have dreams of dying of us eating each other?"- Ana was visibly scared
"No we did not, if you smell rotten well, I don't know"- I tried to brush it off as planned
Later in the day, we saw Ana near bushes looking after the sort of smell
"It isn't here"-Ana was visibly upset
"Ana, there is nothing there"- Helen dragged her
The first day passed, eating, playing with each other, we got time to do that as I can defend against any surprise attack.
Day 2:
"This is getting worse than it was yesterday"- Ana was disturbed this time, even more than yesterday, Helen tried counselling her but it did not work as planned.
"I don't know what to say. Something might happen. They won't tell us anything"
Day 2(night time):
"So how has your life been until now Leo?"-Jacob asked me while he was stocking the fire
"Well 70% of it was shit, 30% was of it was good"
"I have to ask you a question. Have you killed a human before, how does it feel?"- Jacob had a serious gaze
"I killed my father when I was 18, I did not feel anything, I recently killed someone else's father and a vampire clan. I felt nothing in both instances"
"I am not surprised by this, but I can barely kill a supernatural creature. I don't know if I am fit for Hunting"
"You are, it takes a lot of practice, that's it. You won't feel anything the more you experience it."
"I want to be happy with my family, I want to be near my daughter, not on hunts like this, but I got bills to pay and a family to maintain, only these dangerous jobs pay well so I have to take them"-
"Well, you can become a vampire or a skinwalker for a boost. I don't know how to become either of them but I may know someone who might"
Ana was coming out of her tent, shaking and scared. She stood next to the fire
"So how are you feeling?"- Jacob asked Ana while having a sad face
"I am too cold"
"I am afraid of what it is to come, the smell is too strong. I can't resist it anymore"
I looked into her eyes and I knocked her out until the morning
Jacob was asleep by the time I finished talking.
Day 3:
"My feet are burning!"-Ana was in pain as her feet were red like hot iron.
"What happened?"-Tudor woke up, he did not do much, other than sleep but he can fight too
"Too late"- Helen grabbed her rifle and ran to catch Ana, she was restrained as we waited for the night to come, she was getting more and more unhinged by the moment
"Just let me go!"- She was crying with an unusual tone to her voice
"Too cold, too hot, too hungry"- She shivered in cold yet she was too hot at the same time, she was hungry even tho she ate a lot of calorie-rich food
"You just ate 20000 calories of very filling food, I don't get it"- Tudor was there just looking at her as she began to descend into a Wendigo fever, that is the safest thing to do since there are 2 of them, if I had gone and killed one of them only one will be remaining and that one Wendigo can devour all 4 of them, I don't want anyone to die, even tho I can revive them at any time I want to avoid deaths as much as possible, once the Wendigo is dead Ana is free from the fever
Day 3(Night):
We released Ana as we finally told Helen the plan to kill the Wendigog without any of them getting killed
"I don't agree on this, you let her succumb to some psychosis that can turn her into a wendigo."- Helen hit me with the but of her shotgun over the head 10 times
"Go"-Jacob gave me the start signal, I used my wendigo skin to transform and camouflage in the brush so there will be 3 instead of 2 or +1
I followed Ana's trail as she was getting closer to the 2 wendigog. The massive cryptids were on the opposite part of where I was following her, 1km ahead, tired Ana rested in a part of a forest that was used for logging, the 2 wendigog stood before her, she was surprised to not find her rifle, I tackled the Wendigog so they can't kill her in any way. Lucas, Helen and Tudor followed me from behind with explosive and incendiary ammo, as I turned back into a human I stopped the wendigog to kill anyone. One of the Wendigog shredded me to bits for 30 minutes straight as the 4 of them were shooting them
"Well he does not look so strong now"-Helen spoke while reloading her shotgun with incendiary rounds
"Well he told us he is a punching bag for the other Hunters, so he did not lie, he does not have physical strength"-Ana seemed to confirm what Helen first said
"Don't lose focus and shoot, you are missing Helen"- Tudor was concentrating on body shots.
"One down, the other one!"- Jacob commanded them to shoot at the second one
30 minutes later the Wendigog were killed, I regenerated my body fully. I enjoyed this experience. All 4 of them book a flight for Africa for their next hunt, all of them left in the morning after we left the forest. I don't know but a big hunt is approaching soon. Their company was good, even tho I had made some morally questionable choices but we succeeded in the end.

If you read this you had found the diary or at least this page, you should avoid the north, after that last mission with the Arabic cryptid, the world, or at least this pocket dimension that we are trapped in had gone to hell. There should be a way out of here.
"My best friend is also the biggest idiot"- Lucas looked at Jacob and Helen
"Why did he leave this note here anyway?"- Tudor asked while he read the note
"Well like it or not we have to find that kid if we want to get out"- Aireen spoke while exiting the cabin
"So what now?"- Maria(the Hunter from the Africa mission), looked at Helen and Ana, handed them a gun and a knife
"What to do with these?"
"What else were guns invented for?"
"Killing of course"-Tudor replied to Jacob's question
"What do we kill?"
"Everything that stays in our path to get the heck of this place"- Jacob was reloading his rifle
"Jacob got it!"
"Now we should get to work, food won't grow or hunt itself"- Everyone was getting ready to work.
