Hi everybody, I hope you're all doing well.
I truly hate to do this, but unfortunately The Lich's Apprentice is going on a bit of a hiatus. It's with a heavy heart that I make this announcement, but I thought that a week of relative relaxation would help my burnout. It didn't.
I won't lie, while I'm not new to writing, I am new to the world of serialized fiction. Writing everyday isn't an issue, but chasing deadlines, even self-imposed deadlines, while maintaining quality is a very different beast than I had imagined. It's no wonder that authors, particularly serialized authors, struggle with writer's block and burnout. I'm not going to stop writing, and I'm definitely not leaving William and Ahn'Khareen's story. But I will be taking it more slowly.
Updates will still be posted to this story, and I am going to keep writing. But they will be coming slower, albeit probably in larger chunks to compensate for the slower release rate.
I thank you all for the incredible amount of support you have shown me. This is my first story I have every publicly shared beyond my immediate friend group, and It moves me to no end to see people enjoy my story. I hope you all understand, and I don't have the words to express my appreciation. Ironic for an author, huh?
Thank you all again,
-Yankee
It is fine.
Thats cool, take your time.
Just want to say, the story is extremely captivating so far, and I patiently await the next release. I'm glad your getting ahead of any future burnout, and take the time you need, well wishes and many Great and Wonderful days to you!
In all honesty, this may very well be the best story I have read so far on scribblehub, though I also haven't read that many here yet either. Hopefully at some point you will continue to upload new chapters, would be a shame if this story with this great kind of great potential were to end so early.
Are you coming back to this series? No rush...
