The police were questioning me on what happened, I wasn't listening though
I was just wondering why I was a dick to Sora for so long
I mean yeah she could be annoying but she's not a bad person
She's definitely a better one than me
While in the hospital I just sat beside Sora's hospital bed waiting
Dad: what's her condition?
Zenez: I don't know... they say she might not make it. I never even got to apologize
Dad: apologize? You treated her like shit constantly
Zenez: I'm aware... and I regret it... all of it if she recovers I'm gonna make it up to her
Dad: why don't you go and let your anger out on some abnormals, there are some fox types in an empty children's park a mile from here you can take my car
Zenez: yeah, sure
I got up slowly took one look at Sora grabbed the keys and left
On the car ride there I felt numb
Like nothing mattered
At this point there's been so many attacks of these abnormals that it doesn't normally phase me when I see them
When I got there I saw another Hunter trying to fight the foxes but failing he was bleeding and clearly exhausted I quickly ran over to help fight the foxes
I grabbed the fox that was about to jump on him by the throat and slammed its neck against the seesaw snapping it's neck and killing it instantly
Another one tried to bite my foot but I lifted my foot and as It ran under me and I slammed my foot full force against its head and crushed its skull killing it
The final fox tried to jump at me but I grabbed it's 2 front legs and slammed it against a pole breaking its spine I then kept Punching and Punching even when I heard multiple cracks I left it there dead in a pool of it's own blood
Hunter: thank you so much, you saved my life
Zenez: why would you do something so reckless, what is wrong with you? You do realize your family will never know what happened right?
Besides me and Soras respective families if your apart of the association your family doesn't get to know
you wear a mask when you fight and you keep your identity a secret from the whole world
Hunter: I... I think I just got too cocky
Zenez: you think?
Bruno: well what's your name I'm Bruno
Zenez: my name is Zenez and don't make me save you again stick to the rats
Bruno: the rats were all killed a few days ago
Zenez: what are you talking about?
Bruno: well, throughout the country there's been no rat sightings it went from about 50,000 to 0 in 3 days
That would explain the lack of rat kills I've gotten
Zenez: how?
Bruno: no one knows, they just disappeared
Zenez: Kugo did mention how he hates the rats... could he have something to do with it?
I mumbled to myself
Bruno: who's Kugo?
Zenez: don't worry about it and be careful next time
Bruno: thank you again
I need to check on Sora to see if she's ok
I nervously walk up to her room and open the door
Sora: Hey Zenez
She said with a huge smile across her face
Zenez: Sora... holy shit
I quickly ran over and hugged her
Zenez: it was all my fault
Sora: no it wasn't you can't blame yourself
Zenez: if I was more careful you wouldn't have gotten hurt
Sora: anyways, I was told I can leave soon
Zenez: when?
Sora: I don't know yet
Zenez: have your family visited yet
Sora: yeah my dad and sister visited me about an hour ago
Zenez: one of those fuckers escaped I'll make him wish he never came near you
Sora looked at me confused
Zenez: what's with the look?
Sora: it's weird seeing you care about me
Zenez: well... despite how I act... I don't hate you
Sora: really? I thought you wondered how I could be so annoying
Zenez: that's besides the point. Listen I owe you so I'm gonna make it up to you I'll do anything you want
Sora: anything?
Zenez: anything just tell me what you want and I'll get it done
Sora: nothing actually, you worrying about me is enough
