Grey froze.

When the princess he shot fell to the ground, he saw Bai Xing standing next to a tree, witnessing what had just happened. Bai Xing was blocked by Snow White's body, so he didn't notice.

Bai Xing looked at Snow White bleeding to the grass and then to Grey and then to Snow White again.

"White, I can explain." Grey immediately lowered his shotgun.

Bai Xing slowly approached Grey. His eyes were still glued to Snow White, "D-Did you…"

Grey grabbed Bai Xing's hands, "We'll talk about this at your cabin."

Before they could leave, the temperature around them abruptly dropped several degrees. The sky rapidly darkened and an unknown growling filled the forest.

Bai Xing shifted his hand and gripped Grey's wrist. He hurriedly pulled Grey to run away. Although there were those magical weapons from M, they couldn't be used at the virus as long as its power source still existed. Not to mention Grey's normal shotgun.

Behind them, Snow White's corpse twitched and slowly got up. She didn't seem to be bothered by her blown-off head. Her mouth grinned fiendishly as several decomposed figures appeared behind her.

Bai Xing entered his cabin with Grey. He locked the front door and headed to the kitchen. Grey thought he was going to lock it, but Bai Xing opened it.

He turned around to Grey, "S-Stay inside. She's coming after you…"

Bai Xing shut the door and locked it once he was outside. He took out his phone and rushed to the goddess statue using its navigation.

Grey was stunned by Bai Xing's sudden action. He saw through the window that Bai Xing went into the forest by himself.

He gritted his teeth and took all the bullets and some medic from Bai Xing's cabinet before smashing down the door with one kick.

Bai Xing was still running when a horse suddenly jumped to his front. On top of the horse was the white snake who introduced him to the horse.

"What the hell did you do!? The corpses in the forest are waking up!" the snake hissed.

"I don't have time to explain. I need to go to the goddess statue to stop this."

"Well don't just stand there! Jump on!" the snake urged.

The new horse ran with all its might. It knew where the goddess statue is, so Bai Xing only needed to focus on not falling off.

When he arrived at the goddess statue, the place was already covered by mist. The 7 dwarves were also there.

He jumped off the horse and went to where they are. The dwarf with bushy eyebrows who guided him there quickly saw him.

"Young lad, you're finally here! We got ya message from the bird, but we can't stop her! Need to do somethin' 'bout this mist first!"

They really couldn't see anything further than their arm's length in the mist. Bai Xing tried messaging M, but he wasn't responding.

"Graahhhh!!!"

"Watch out!!" one of the dwarves shouted at Bai Xing.

Bai Xing instinctively dodged to his side. He fell to the ground along with his phone, but at least he avoided the thing that was trying to attack him.

"She's coming after you again, Young lad!"

The screeching roar was heard again. Bai Xing reached out to his phone to summon out the sword, but the view in front of him changed.

He was now lying down on his old car's backseat with his parents sitting on the front seats.

"You're awake? We're going to reach the hotel your mother booked soon. We'll have lots of fun tomorrow." His father spoke as he drove.

Bai Xing's scar throbbed again. He saw his phone was under his mother's seat and took it.

"Now that you're awake, wear your seatbelt properly, dear." His mother said.

Bai Xing sat up and unlocked his phone. All his apps were back, but he couldn't find M's app in return.

"…"

He decisively opened the car door.

"Xiao Xing, what are you doing!?" his mother screamed in panic.

"Xiao Xing, close the door right now!" his father also shouted in anger.

He jumped out of the car. As his body rolled on the street, the ground soon turned back to the forest's soil.

Bai Xing summoned out the sword just in time when the creature lunged onto him. Bai Xing reacted and aimed the sword up at her.

As soon as the blade stabbed into her throat, the mist around them became stagnant. Bai Xing tossed the creature aside and moved on top of her before plunging the sword further.

"Kgh!…Ackk…Krrgg…How…?"

Bai Xing smiled at her, "My family…is not like that."

"…"

The creature beneath him gradually changed. Her dried, decomposed skin plumped into smooth, pearly skin. Her scarce hair grew into long, white, silky hair covered by a thin veil. Her demonic red eyes turned into a mesmerizing aquatic blue. Her ragged clothes transformed and fixed themselves into a beautiful white gown.

Once the sword shattered, the woman stood up and hovered to the sky. Her body was glowing with a holy light, her figure was brighter than the full moon above.

"It's Her Majesty the Queen!" the oldest dwarf's eyes widened in shock, "It really is her…The Goddess of the Moonlight…"

The Queen smiled and nodded at the dwarf. Her face then turned solemn as she divinely raised her arms.

"You used my dear daughter as a vessel for your damned soul and used me for your evil. You have also strayed, confused, and led innocent souls to their death and trapped their souls, not letting them rest in peace as they should. Your deeds end here, O demon of hell, for I shall not condemn you back to your realm. Your vile existence shall be pulverized by the heaven and burn forever in the abyss."

Intense energy burst out from her. Her holy light blindingly flashed, lighting the whole forest as if it was daylight. The mist covering the entire forest was instantly cleared out.

Grey was shooting the walking corpses surrounding him when they suddenly got caught in white flames and soon disintegrated without leaving any dust.

"AARRGHHHH!!!!"

Snow White howled in pain as a sea of white flames set ablaze around her. She writhed on the soil, clawing her chest where her heart was on fire. Unlike the previous corpses, she was burnt down excruciatingly slow from inside out. Her flesh was licked by the flames bit by bit, not giving her the death she would rather get.

The circle of flame narrowed into her and the ground beneath her crumbled. After Snow White fell while she was still on fire, the circle of flame closed in until it finally disappeared. The ground has also returned back to normal.

Grey turned to where the light source is and impatiently ran towards it.

The queen descended down and bowed at Bai Xing, "I thank you for releasing me from the demon's curse."

Bai Xing stiffened and reactively took several steps back. He lowered his head and his hands fidgeted in discomfort.

When was the last time he talked to the opposite sex? Not to mention, this…this should be Snow White's mother…right? What did the dwarf mean by the Goddess of Moonlight?? Such a thing existed in Snow White? Why was she buried here? She was a queen! She should've been buried somewhere…holier? Did the virus do this?

H-How to respond to her? He didn't really intend to release her from her curse. He didn't even know there was one! Would she get mad if she knew he stabbed her to kill her? Of course, she would, wouldn't she? He…He wouldn't get p-pulverized, would he?? And did she know that her daughter was technically dead? With her headshot like that, it was impossible for her to be alive even if the virus wasn't in her anymore, right?

She wouldn't…come for Grey, would she?

The queen smiled reassuringly at Bai Xing, "I am not a living soul. After I deal with another thing, I will ascend to the moon. Whatever your intention was, I know it is for the greater good. I can sense a clean soul when I meet one."

"!" Bai Xing hurriedly raised his head, "Y-Y-Your Majesty…p-please don't kill him!"

"Him?" the queen thought for a few seconds before coming to an understanding. She chuckled, "No, my dear child. My business is with the wicked witch who brings chaos to our kingdom and family."

She waved her hand and a white portal opened. On the other side, Grey who was running didn't get to stop and crossed it, instantly appearing next to Bai Xing.

The queen turned to the dwarves, "Thank you for looking after this forest after I was gone. I bless you all with good fortunes and long life."

The dwarves knelt down, "It is our honor."

"This is farewell."

The queen gracefully spun with her gown flowing like clouds and vanished into thin air.
