CHAPTER 16

The sunlight shoved upon my face. It's already morning, and time for breakfast. My mother just opened the curtains to interrupt my incomplete sleep cycle.

"It's morning now, Ulysses. Breakfast is ready."

"Just leave me some leftovers." I lazily turned to the other side of the bed to avoid the sunlight. "Today is my day off anyway, and I still need to sleep."

"That's because you stayed up way later than you said you'll be." My mother yelled. "I thought the princess' debut ends in midnight, but you went home at three in the evening."

"We had some job to do," I said.

I decided to turn my phone on since I will never get any more sleep with my nagging mother here anyway. My body is magnetized to the comfortable bed, and I don't want to get up yet.

I heard my mother sigh.

"What are your plans for your life, Ulysses?" She asked.

"What?"

"I know you're a Dragon Sage already, and that is a great achievement. But as human beings, we should strive to achieve all goals in this life."

"What is more than being a Dragon Sage that I should get?"

"Getting a wife."

Hearing that sentence made me accidentally swallow all the bitter stale saliva stored in my mouth. I took a deep breath and gave a quick answer.

"I don't wanna."

My mother ignored me and continued to blabber nonsense. "Our house is finally growing towards higher aristocracy, and a noble shall inevitably pass their legacy and riches to the heir. You need a wife so that you can bear beautiful children that shall continue the Corasell nobility. Your father and I are already excited about naming your offspring already."

"No. I have plans of my own, and that doesn't involve getting a girlfriend, a wife, or a playmate either." I lazily said.

"What's your plan? Staying here in your room all day and night, playing video games, and watching cartoons? You're already an adult, a Dragon Sage at that, and you still think like a shut-in kid!"

My mother just took the words from my mouth, so I didn't answer. She knows me well. And for the record, I don't watch cartoons. It's hentai- I mean, anime!

"That is one of the reasons why you need a girlfriend right now." My mother continued. "You need somebody to change your shut-in attitude. A matured woman that would help you grow more as a person will be the best."

I just replied with a sigh. Hearing me uninterested in her sermons, my mother exited the room.

It took me a few minutes before getting up from my bed. I only had four hours of sleep, and I think it would suffice for eating my breakfast. I'll just go back here in my room and sleep, then spend the remaining hours of my day-off playing games.

I went on my morning routine. I washed my face and brushed my teeth. As evidenced by my eyebags, I'm too tired to play handsome today. I want to spend as little energy I can.

I went downstairs. My family is already eating their breakfast. I was about to join them and settle down on my seat, but the doorbell rang.

Since I'm the only person left standing, it was my duty to answer the bell. I went to the entrance and opened the door.

"Good morning, Uly~" A beautiful girl with long dark-blue hair greeted me with an angelic smile.

I immediately closed the door. Then I crossed my arms and indulged myself in deep thought.

However, the door opened again. And this time, the girl's ruby eyes are glaring at me. She's strangling me with just the power of her stare.

"H-Hanna! W-What brings you here!?" I stuttered with a forced smile.

"I just wanted to see my handsome Dragon Sage, but he does not want to see me at all," Yehanna muttered menacingly.

"Ulysses, who is that beautiful girl?" My mother asked.

Yehanna immediately shifted from threatening to a smiling and charming face. The way she changes modes is so superb that she might have a talent in theatre or being an actress.

"Oh, good morning, Mr. and Mrs. Corasell!" Yehanna did a curtsy. "My name is Second Lieutenant Yehanna Lancelot, the President of the Apsara Industries Corporation and the Dragonoid Contractor of your son. Furthermore, I am your son's... fiancé."

"F-F-Fiance!?" My mother, my father, and my sister stuttered while foam formed on their mouths.

After a few seconds, they cleaned the house, changed the old table sheet, and covered the seats with good outer covers. Then they act like butlers and maids as they escorted my Dragonoid Contractor towards the dining table.

"This is a rare opportunity! This is the very first time Ulysses brought home a girl! And it's his fiancé!" My mother shrieked.

"I am very proud of my son for choosing a fine lady like you to be his fiancé." My father cried.

"Money! Money! Now that my trash brother is marrying a president of a well-known corporation, I can buy all the luxury shoes I want!" My sister's nose bled with her intentions.

When my father noticed that I'm still standing, he grabbed both of my shoulders and forced me to sit beside Yehanna. When we were near each other, it was my opportunity to protest.

"Fiancé what?" I cringed and tilted my head.

"Oh my, you are funny, Uly~" Yehanna gently slapped me. "Didn't you forget your promise last night?"

"Last night?"

"Last night," Yehanna repeated. "You took my hand and hugged me tightly. You said: 'I will be with you, Hanna.' while caressing my hair. You also said that you will plan for our future."

"Y-Yeah, I did say that." I scratched my left cheek. "But that is not what I meant!"

"Oh, so you're just playing with this pure maiden's heart?" Yehanna cried. "After dancing to our heart's content last night and uncovering all my secrets, you're just going to abandon me without taking any responsibility? I'm so heartbroken right now."

"Hey, Ulysses!" Shouted my father. "A gentleman from House Corasell never backs down on their word! And more importantly, we do not play with a pure maiden's heart! If you're not going to reconcile with Lady Lancelot over here, you will have no place to stay for the night!"

"Right, right. You are trash, brother." My sister commented.

"W-Wait, why am I getting kicked out?" I asked, but nobody cared.

They just ignored me and focused their views on Yehanna, faking her cries.

"Don't worry, Lady Yehanna Lancelot." My mother held my Dragonoid Contractor's hands. "My son will take responsibility. Do not fear. Our blessings will be with you."

"Really?" Yehanna shifted to a happy tone. "You are not against our love for one another?"

"Of course not! It may be our first-time meeting with you, but I know I can entrust my childish son in your hands. You look so beautiful, kind, smart, and mature." My mother said. "Ulysses will learn a lot from you!"

"Don't worry, ma'am!" Yehanna jollily answered. "I will nourish his mental growth like a good mother as you are! Your precious son will call me 'Mommy' too!"

I don't know where this conversation is going, and I'm too scared to interrupt. I just took a bite of my macaroni soup and continued with the breakfast while the people around me discuss random things.

It troubles me a lot why a girl like Yehanna visited me in the early morning. Having a military girl who's secretly assassinating nobles entering my house has some terror in it, even though I'm quite sure Yehanna's not here for any of our heads.

I still have no idea what's on her mind.

After a few minutes, the pointless conversation slowly shifted to spoon and fork clanging. They are now focused on eating the food.

And then Yehanna broke the silence once again.

"Mr. Corasell, Mrs. Corasell. The main reason why I'm here is that I want Uly to live with me in my manor. Is that okay with you?"

"Alright." My mother, father, and sister answered in unison. "He's a waste of space in here anyway."

And just like that, I was kicked out of my house. No resistance.
