Darkness.

That's the first thing he saw. He wasn't scared of the darkness, on the contrary he was actually very comfortable in it. However, a certain instinct told him that he should get out of there fast. So that's what he tried to do.

He tried to get out of the darkness and only then did he notice, that he was actually locked inside the darkness. He could feel a certain hard surface trying to keep him inside. He contemplated if he should just stay here and enjoy the comortable darkness, however he just couldn't let go off the feeling that he should get out.

He touched all over the surface, trying to find any way out but it looks like there wasn't any. So he tried his only option that was left, brute force. He started punching, kicking and even headbutting the outer surface. Every time he hit the surface, he heard a loud noise.

*Crack* *Crack*

After a few hard hits, he finally managed to crack open the surface. Instantly, bright light invaded his eyes, which caused him pain. He quickly closed them shut and considered not opening them again but his curiosity got the better off him. He opened them again and altough it still hurt to open them, he could atleast have them open for a longer time before the pain got too much for him.

He repeated the process of opening and closing his eyes a few times, until he could finally have them open without pain. He looked around himself and saw...eggs. A lot of them. Then he looked down on where he just came out of and also saw...an egg. When he once again looked at the eggs, he noticed that only his egg was actually open.

All other eggs, that he could currently see, were still closed. Suddenly he got scared and thought that maybe he did something wrong, until-

*Crack*

He heard another egg cracking. Obviously he was very happy, since that would mean he didn't do anything wrong, right? He then started to look around a bit more. All of the eggs were on on a beach, full of red sand. The ocean was completely full of black, gooey-looking liquid. Everything had a sulfuric smell, which pleased him a lot. He concentrated, while closing his eyes and sniffing the air, to find out where the sulfric smell came from. 

He came to the conclusion, that the sulfuric smell came from everywhere but that a certain direction smelled especially strong like sulfur. He openend his eyes and looked towards that direction. In that direction were multiple black crystals potruding out of the ground, leading to somewhere. When looking towards different directions, he saw that the black crystals where everywhere, all leading towards one direction. 

He was curious, so he jumped out of his egg and stumbled towards the nearest black crystal. When he arrived there, he smelled that pleasent sulfric smell stronger then ever. When inspecting the crystal a bit more, he noticed his reflection on the crystal. 

He saw a small, black furred figure with stubby legs and arms looking back at him. He was walking on his 2 stubby legs, that were rather short compared to his statue. His eyes were glowing red and radiating innocent curiosity. His entire stature was rather small and a bit similair to a rectangle. It had 2 rather small, horns that were on the top of his head and were curving upwards.¹If you want a clearer picture of what I'm describing, just google "omniscient reader's viewpoint dokkaebi" just in black fur :)

However he couldn't really concentrate on himself anymore, since something else caught his sight.

It was a black, floating scroll with red writing. Azazel, as he is now known, was taking in every bit of information of the scroll like a sponge. He read everything to the last detail, so that he would miss nothing. After reading everything atleast 3 times, he finally decided to try something. He concentrated, with narrowed eyes, on the 'Name' writing and tried to use 'Observation' on it.

[Observaton!]

[Name - Your full devil name. Should anyone, except you, speak this name out loud, they will gain complete control over your body and mind. Try to protect your full name at all cost.]

[Racial skill level up!]

[Racial Skill: Observation - 1 ==> Observation - 2]

Azazel was a bit overwhelmed from the information but he quickly calmed down. After reading everything he understood 2 things. First of all, he should never tell anyone his full name and second of all, his observation skill can be leveled by using it. He instantly used Observation on every single thing on the scroll.

[Level - Your current level. Displays how many level you currently have. You can get level by killing other beings. Demons can only level by eating souls. Every level you get, you gain 5 statpoints and 1 skillpoint. Every 10 level you can choose an evolution path. There is no limit to how many level you can get.]

[Race - Your Race. Displays which race you are and decides which racial skills you are born with.]

[Evolution - Your current evolution. Every 10 level you get multiple evolution choices, according to your race, stats and skills. Different evolution choices give you different bonuses like skills or stats. Once you choose an evolution, you will fall in a 1 day long sleep, where you will be completely defenseless. You cannot go back on your evolution choice.. You can only evolve up to 10 times.]

[Stats - Displays your current stats. Can be increased by using statpoints or evolving.]

[Strenght - Your strenght. The more you have, the stronger you are physically and the more damage your critical hits do.]

[Agility - Your agility. The more you have, the faster you can hit, run, climb, dodge, fly and be faster in general.]

[Vitality - Your vitality. The more you have, the more hits you can take, the stronger your skin is, the faster you regenerate and the more stamina you have.]

[Intelligence - Your intelligence. The more you have, the more mana capacity you get, the stronger your magic attacks are and the less mana you use for spells. Does not display how smart you actually are.]

[Charisma - Your charisma. The more you have, the better you can lead other beings, the more likely it is for you to convince others, the more likely it is for others to trust you, the more likely it is for others to see you as attractive, the more likely it is for others to do you a favor.]

[Luck - Your luck. The more you you have, the more likely it is for you to stumble upon fortunate circumstances and the more likely you are to land a critical hit.]

[Statpoints - Displays how many statpoints you currently have. Every level you gain 5 statpoints. You can use those to level up your stats.]

[Racial Skills - Displays your racial skills. Depending on which race you were born in, you will gain racial skills. You cannot gain anymore racial skills after your birth. You cannot use skillpoints to level up your racial skills, rather you will have to level them by using them often.]

[Observation - A racial skill that can only be used by devils or angels. The skill allows you to display information about every physical thing or being.]

[Universal Language - A racial skill that can only be used by devils or angels. The skill allows you to understand every existing language.]

[Skill Create - A racial skills that can only be used by you and (???). The skill allows you to create non-racial skills in cost of souls.]

[Devil contract - A racial skill that can only be used by devils. The skill allows you to create a devil contract with another being, enabling you to stay on earth by using their mana. After the contract was fulfilled, it will burn to ashes and all previous laws will be erased. Should the contract be violated, the violating party will be forced to hand over their soul or in the case of devils their true name.]

[Skills - Displays your current skills. You can only gain more skills by using skill create or evolving. Others are born with their skills or also gain them by evolving.]

[Skillpoints - Displays how many skillpoints you currently have. Every level you gain 1 skillpoint. You can use those to level up your created skills. Some skills can evolve after reaching a certain threshold.]

[Souls - Displays how many souls you currently have. You can gain souls either by making a devil contract or taking them from recently deceased beings. Devils and demons devour souls to boost their stats and level up, archangels bless souls to create angels. Eating souls will not boost your stats or level you up.]

Wow. That was a lot for Azazel to comprehend. He read through the scroll atleast 3 times and tried to memorize every single detail but failed miserably. So he did the next best thing and tried to only memorize the important stuff. Now that, was something he was able to do. However, he was a bit confused, why certain things, like skill creation and not leveling up from souls only apply to him.

*RAGH* *AGHH*

Azazel was suprised from those sounds and quickly turned towards the source. There were 2 beings, that hatches from the eggs, that were fighting each other. Azazel was angry at them for interrupting him, while he was busy reading the scroll. He quickly used obersavtion on them.

'Race demon? Why different? Why not devil?' Azazel wondered. He was quite confused over the fact that they had another race then him. He obviously understood why the evolutions could be different but them being a completely different race confused him. However, he didn't dwell on that fact for too long, in favor of watching them battle.

Looking at the mazzikin, he saw a small and black humanoid figure, with wings on its back. It had 2 small, black horns that were standing straight up and a rather thin tail on its back. The tail had a black arrow tip on its end.²A/N - If you want a clearer picture of what I'm describing, just google "Runescape Imp" for the mazzikin and imagine it black. Yes, I just described an mazzikin like an imp. Sue me. :)

After he was done looking at the mazzikin, he turned towards the bull demon. The bull demon was a small, dark-yellow figure that was hunching. It has 2 downwards angled horns on the side of it's head and a massive forehead. Its spine bones were mildly potruding out of it's back.³A/N - If you want a clearer picture of what I'm describing, just google "Bull Demon Doom" for the Bull Demon.

The bull demon charged forward, trying to hit the mazzikin with it's head. The mazzikin dodged by flying up before diving down and punching the bull demon on the head. This was obviously a mistake, since the bull demons head is its hardest part, so the hand from the mazzikin broke. 

"Raghr!" The mazzikin cried out of pain.

While the mazzikin was distracted with its broken hand, the bull demon took that chance and charged towards it. The mazzikin only noticed the bull demon as it was already too late and was hit in the gut from the bull demons head. The mazzikin fell down on the ground before quickly standing up. It spit out a bit of blood, that came from internal injuries.

It flew up, to gain distance from the bull demon. Then it once again dived down but this time hit the bull demon in its gut, with its left hand. The bull demon also took internal damage but it looks like that didn't stop it from throwing out a punch against the mazzikins head. It all looked like the mazzikin would lose, so Azazel stopped watching and attacked the bull demon.

A/N - Hey guys! So this was the first chapter to my new, original story I'm starting. I know that maybe there was a bit of an info-dump but I just wanted the first chapter to show a bit of what's to come. Also, I wanted the first chapter to be like, the chapter where you can always come back to if you didn't understand something. So, sorry if it was a bit of an info dump but I'll do my best to not repeat it.
