Casper woke up in his hospital bed. Like every morning. This morning however was slightly different then the previous ones. For one his right arm was under his body and had fallen asleep because of lack of blood. Not that he could change it at this moment and the other was that his make-a-wish wish would be completed today. He called for a nurse to free his arm, because while he could feel his arm he could not control it, just like everyone else from the neck down.

He thought about his wish. Some might have wished for Disney world, others might wanted to visit a famous location. He had wished to visit Sasqia’s computer. He had been watching her stream for a long time, a year or so before his hospital episode began. Even now it was on the screen that the nurse had turned on. She just had lots of energy which cheered him up and her streams went on 24-7 meaning that even in the middle of the night he could tune in and enjoy the entertainment.

The first time he had ever watched her streams was a few months after she had joined up with the V-tubers from Yaheka.

His mother came into his room. “How are you feeling sweety?”

Casper sighed, “one, I am 14 years old. That makes me no longer a ‘sweety’. Two, I feel paralyzed.”

His mother smiled a painful smile, “still making that joke.” She sighed. She remembered 3 years ago Casper came out of bed and could no longer wiggle his toes. They rushed to the doctor and he was swiftly after diagnosed with a nerve sickness that would slowly over a few years time erode away all his ability to move muscles until at some point he would be prisoner in his own body, eventually not even able to open his eyes anymore.

A doctor came in and broke the heavy silence. “Before you leave today I need to perform some tests as you already know. Let's get started on that shall we?”

The doctor did the tests and exercises and gave the approval for the outing.

Ten minutes later the people of Make a wish came in and got him into a wheelchair for transport and a few minutes later he was in a truck driving for an hour to the building with the computer that housed Sasqia.

After a long trip Casper arrived at the location. He was taken out of the truck and was pushed into the building with his wheelchair. A woman that sat in the lobby stood up and walked towards them.

She talked to the person escorting him, “Hello, I assume you are from the Make a Wish foundation.” The person answered affirmatively. Casper had no idea who it was, the names had long been forgotten in his excitement.

The woman walked to him and slightly bowed her head as a greeting. “Hello I am Kimmy and I will escort you to the chamber with Sasqia’s computer.”

Casper nodded back, “I am Casper.” He began smiling, his wish was so very close now. “I am very excited.”

Kimmy got infected by the smile. “Then let us move to the lift.” While walking in that direction she gave the three of them a card. “A card for Casper, a card for his mother and a card for the medical escort. That should cover you should you get lost or questioned.”

They all walked into the lift. Kimmy took her card and put it into the reader and simply said, “to your floor please.”

Sasqia’s voice resounded in the elevator, “you are under the way. See you all in a bit.”

The elevator opened its doors a lot of floors lower. Kimmy led the group through the hallways and doors to the chamber with Sasqia’s computer. When they arrived near the door Casper could see a thick cable going out of the door and entering the next door.

Casper got curious if that cable connected Sasqia and that prototype he had heard about. “Kimmy, is that cable connecting Sasqia to that Full Dive thing?”

Kimmy smiled, “you’re correct, want to try that thing out after your visit?”

Casper was taken aback by that question. “Will that not cause problems and or trouble? I mean I can not control most of my body.”

Kimmy waved her hand, “not at all, we wanted to ask you anyway. We need more testers, and to put it in Sasqia’s words…” This was the moment they walked into the room.

Sasqia was visible in her normal light blue wolf girl appearance on a big screen. The boxes installed in this room projected her voice. “‘It might sound very cruel, but people with muscle and or some types of nerve diseases who can no longer move on their own. Some of those people are willing to risk early death for a slim chance to move. We would be able to give them a bigger than slim chance. Not that I will treat them any less than any other person.’ That is what I said. Of course anyone can be a test subject if they want and everyone can reject it. No one here will force you. Besides, I plan on making the Full Dive technology available to anyone. Including paralyzed people like you. And for that as well I need data and willing testers.”

Before Casper could agree with the proposal his mother interjected. “Is that even legally allowed? Is it safe? Never mind, I will not subject my child to this!”

Sasqia calmly responded, “yes, as long as you have permission it is legal. No it is not completely safe, just like crossing a road is never completely safe as well. We did make it as safe as we could. We will also stop the moment things go south. Even if that happens before the test. If that is your stance on this we will not mention it again and make this a fun day.”

Casper had some respect for Sasqia, being very decisive and talking back with facts. Not that he had known her any different. He asked his mother, “do you even know what the full dive prototype is? It is a chance for paralyzed people like me to someday walk the digital world. Like Sasqia said, I am willing to die if it means I can move again.” He turned to the escort and smiled. “Could you ride me to that window at the side?”

While he was looking at the super quantum computer he heard Kimmy, his mother and Sasqia talk in hushed voices.
