"Hana"

"yeah?"

"What do you want to eat?"

"Are you fine with anything?"

"Sure"

"There is something I'm craving..."

"Then let's go with that"

"It's not in this mall though, are you fine with that?"

"It's alright with me..but where exactly? I still don't know a lot of places"

"Ah right, you just moved here...have you rode a train before?"

"...no"

"really?"

"yes.."

"Even in china?"

"Yes"

She looked at me as if I was a strange creature.

"Since you mentioned train, do we need to ride one to get there?"

"Doesn't necessarily have to, but it's faster that way."

"Then let's go"

I started walking to the mall's exit.

Hana chased after me and said.

"Are you really sure?"

"Yes. And I don't mind riding one for experience. "

"If you say so."

Getting out of the building, we walked on the side walk towards the station.

Surprisingly, it was only a block away.

I glaced around as we walked down the stairs, to the underground.

I observed the people lining up for the barrier thingy.

"Hana"

"hmm?"

"I think I need to get a ticket first."

I told her then gestured with my chin in the direction of the ticket machine that looks the same as an ATM.

"You don't have an IC?"

"I haven't even rode a train before so no, I don't have an IC"

"Do you even know what an IC is?"

"Integrated Circuit"

"...What's that?"

I did a facepalm in my mind

"What IC stands for. You were asking, so I thought you knew"

"Well, I know how to use it, so yeah.."

"So you really didn't know..."

I thought that was common sense though..

"Trust me, it's not"

Did she just read my mind?

"No"

"..."

"How did you even know that?"

"Why not?"

"Well, I just assumed, since you haven't rode a train before."

"Well, now you know I know."

I learned it because one of my grandfather's fishing buddy does business in that industry...and I didn't learn it because I want to.

Ever experienced someone talking to you about random things you never even want to know, where you feel like just hearing them out to be polite but not actually listening, but then your brain just ends up remembering them?

Yeah I did, and whenever I did, it'd be stuck in my head like a catchy song, lingering in my mind like an earworm.

"Anyway, since you're gonna buy a train ticket, might as well just buy an IC since you'd probably use it when the time comes"

"hm, I guess you're right"

Specially since I'd be staying here for quite a while.

Use it for emergencies, where Uncle Chen can't drive me home...
