Recap

So, trying to finish this quickly, I place my hand on the door, and just like last time, focusing on making my hands hot, I melt the door and the lock, allowing me to kick the door in and take a look at who I came all this way to save.

The room was covered in books, with collapsed bookshelves and glass littering the floor. I looked forward and saw two people clutching their feet.

A sumo wrestler in sandals had a distressed look on his face as he stared at his hand that was holding his foot. Their blood was leaking from his foot and a bloodied shard of glass was near him. I also notice a light trail of dried blood left on his ear and assume he can’t hear.

The other is a woman who also appears to have a visible piece of glass stuck in her foot. Looking at her attire, her actions, and the room, I could assume she’s a doctor or someone who works with patients.

After analyzing the victims, I’m about to move out of the building when I find a problem. It has less to do with saving them and more to do with me.

'How the F*ck am I supposed to move her down those stairs, let alone him.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I take a look at myself. While I’m certainly not small , with muscles being hidden by my clothes and a lean build, there is no way I can carry a full grown adult down those stairs without either me dropping them, or the stairs breaking.

And that's not mentioning the unstable floors that may break at any moment. With my weight being increased due to moving along with them, and subsequently my slowed movements, there's no way of getting them down those stairs.

As I’m in my monologue, the woman seemed to have gained clearance as she suddenly started talking.

"Help! Call some heroes. I can’t move my foot!"

Hearing her, I start looking at the door, thinking about not only how I’m going to get out of here but also about another issue I just learned of.

‘How do I talk to her.

In hindsight, this may have been expected since over the past 10 months I’ve barely conversated with people. I talked with Stendhal but only for serious talk, and it was less of a conversation than a question relay.

I have no experience of sounding chipper and happy like a hero. I was even told that my voice would be mute by some villains before I killed them.

I walk towards the door, hoping there's something close by that I can use to get down. After getting out, I could hear the crowd below talking about the building.

"They said that Captain Celebrity should be here soon."

"Woah Captain Celebrity."

"Captain Celebrity, he's one of America’s top-ranked heroes."

And that's my cue to speed up. I walk towards where the alleyway I came from was and see my savior.

Dryer vents, air conditioning, and holes for fences line up the wall. It seems very hoppable and a way for me to get down.

I get back into the room and soon decide to go for the woman first. The sumo wrestler will have to wait for the second load.

‘Hopefully I’ll have come up with another genius idea by then.’

Dry chucklinng at my dry joke. I pick the woman up in my arms and head for the door, hoping that I can hold on for the entire way down.

"Wait! What's happening? Is a hero saving me?"

I look down at her and she has one hand holding the glass shard on her leg and another covering her eye, probably from the dust when i kicked the door in.

Staying silent was what I heard, so I put my foot on the railing as I prepared to jump to my first dryer vent/air conditioner.

"WAAAAIIIIII-"

I jumped and put full trust in my legs. My foot landed on the vent and quickly hopped to another, quite quickly as seconds later, my previous foot hold couldn’t take the weight and fell to the floor.

And falling from 20 feet in the air means that the end of this dryer vent didn’t bode well. A crash ensued later, but no time could be spent to admire it as I was trying to get down.

My main problem wasn’t getting down with her weight. It was my lack of hands, the speed at which I needed to move, and the fact that I also needed to leave a path for myself in case I hadn't gotten a better idea about the sumo wrestler.

After a little while, we land on the ground. I place the woman on the floor, and tuck my hands into my wings to go and grab the man.

The woman’s eyes seemed to have cleared as she’s now rubbing them trying to get better sight. I fly away upwards, leaving a short trail of azure flames in my wake before they burn themselves out.

I must admire heroes for saving people. To not only have to fight villains but sometime to also need to evacuate civilians all while keeping control of their environment.‘

I’m admiring heroes as I am partaking in a part of their job and as I reach my previous platform, I hear two new voices from inside the building. One slightly high-pitched, and the other arrogant and gloating.

"Is anyone here."

"I am the man who’s come to save the people who are trapped. In the collapsing building, The Crawler!"

"A sumo wrestler with leg injuries. And a lot of blood?" said the high-pitched one.

"It seems that we’ve run into each other yet again!"

"AH! Captain Celebrity!"

'Ah, the heroes showed up. Well then my job as a temporary Hero:Vigilante is over.’

With that thought, I turn around and start walking towards a different railing.

*??? Pov*

I look at Captain Celebrity as I support the Sumo Wrestler on my body.

"Shouldn’t you be holding him with your quirk."

"Haha, Nope. Your valorous efforts will be seen if you walk out with him on your shoulder. And since there was only one victim, I’m OK with sharing the fame. "

I rub one of my fingers under my nose and grow a sly smile.

‘I did help after al-

"There wasn't just me."

I hear it from behind me. Turning my neck, I see the sumo wrestler with his still-painful face talking.

"Huh?"

"In the building, there was me…and this woman. I damaged my left ear….and leg during the shaking of the building. We sat on the….floor for some hours, but after the itching and pain in my leg got too much to bear so…I pulled it out."

"She had previously been advising…me not to, but I paid no mind. After the pain…increased as my body started to become heavier. My mind…didn’t pay attention to outside, and when I came back you…guys appeared in the….building."

'Someone els-

I look over to the deck where I walk in and see someone with their foot on the ledge. From this far, I can’t see much about them, but the black jacket covered in grey and their position make me believe that this "mysterious other person" is him.

"Hey wa-"
